CarloRossi and SnowLeopard answered the question quite adequately. The workouts do go on in the morning and those who show up really bang it out in the weight room and out on the field, doing change of direction drills etc. However, summer time at ULV looks like a ghostown for the most part. I know that there are some guys (15 would be a good estimate) working out in the mornings during the summer right now and believe me when I say Coach Durant is getting after their a****. I believe the girls soccer team also works out in the morning.

I hope the search for a basketball coach doesn't take as long as the football coach search.

Is Phillip Guerrero making a run at the starting QB spot at Oxy?

Wow, not only is this a slap to Cal Lu, but the SCIAC as a whole
Yes, he is a very good QB, but I don't think I recall Collins saying or acting like this one bit and he was definitely a step above the rest; much more than Jones.

Isn't Redlands also known for having some of the least attractive co-eds in the nation

And how many of us SCIAC guys took out thousands and thousands of dollars in loans to do what? Play Football at our respected institution. Any SCIAC player can to a Cal State or UC and get a degree for a much lesser price, but we just have to play football don't we?

Wonder how much of a culture shock it's going to be for Ankeny, going from a Baptist school, to a liberal arts school. Not just the political side, but the demographics as well.

I've heard that Ankeny doesn't want the players to cuss. That's tough for a La Verne guy to do. I would have only lasted about 5 minutes before the first F bomb came out

You're hilarious SnowLeopard. I drive through Crenshaw every mornign at 5:30 am and there's not a single bad guy up that early in the morning, they all went to sleep a half hour ago
I would have to agree that Durant is the best strength coach around the SCIAC. Too bad admin. can't be a bit more supportive.

Feel free to lower my karma points. I was just told that Ponciano is out of the running. Don't know what the hecks going on at the alma mater.
As far as Nick's goes, a ton of memories there and a place that was always friendly toward ULV football players. No, I'm not a La Verne native and actually grew up near Los Angeles, but the small town is pretty cool especially when the 909 bros with tatoo sleeves come rolling into T-PHilips

And congrats to Andy Collins. Hope to see him and Michael Allan playing so I could brag and tell everyone that "I played against those guys" when I'm watching TV with some townies at the local bar

Heard that the Leos will be announcing Citrus DC Ponciano as the new HC tomorrow. Don't know that it's fact though.

Brown Eagle, I would love to say that you're wrong, but not sure I 'd be able to completely defend it since there has been little love for the football program at ULV from the powers above. It's sad because there are staff members and players who really want to put the program back to where it was in the mid 90s
