RIP Herman Boone, immortalized by Denzel Washington in "Remember the Titans" has died at the age of 84 in Virginia. Loved that movie.
Oh, no!  I am very sad.  My favorite movie of all time.............  :( :'( :'(

RIP, Coach Boone.

Been a few years since we were back in the Perk for play-off game.  So much fun seeing old friends, a fun tailgate and what a spectacular competition it was!  Does not get any better than that. Much respect for the SJU program, players, staff, fan base and that terrific QB!  When did you guys get an O-line that big?   ;D  I can't believe I am thinking this much less leaving written evidence but with the quality of the play I saw on either side of the ball Saturday, I would have been OK losing that nail biter to this years Johnny's team. They surely would have earned it. I said several times during the game, SJU was making scoring TD's look easy and the Hawks scores were much harder earned. And what a great defensive play that sealed the win for the Hawks. That LB strip was stellar! Much like the legendary 05 Hawks/Linfield game, the winner was determined by the buzzer.  There was 11 lead changes in that barn burner also with an amazing QB.  Saturday was anyone's game from start to finish.

I am so happy for Coach Bullis, Coach Pete, Coach Rindahl and Coach Allen and all the coaching staff as they get their chance to play for the Walnut and Bronze! Jace and Brent need to get another ring, this time as coaches!   :) 8-)

                                     GO HAWKS!  DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!

I think NCC will kick your butt... but what do I know.....  :-*

Well NCC is a 9 point (Hansen) to 14 point (Massey) favorite.  So you may be on to something. I may need to re-watch the 2007 Stagg Bowl just to kindle some hope  :)
Keep and eye out for #33.  He's my favorite...................... ;D ;) 8-)

Good to be back and so happy to see that all the usual suspects are still hanging around.  Been so long that I couldn't remember my password, (no surprise these days,) and my email associated with account is history so Pat had to, "assign," me a new password.   ;D   Hell of a game yesterday. The difference  between times of possession was ridiculous!  We almost made the trip with #33 but as some of you may know, he had a bit of an issue at work.......... :'( :'(

I see where our season parking passes will carry over into the play-offs.  Anyone know of someone that has a parking pass and won't be using it on Saturday?  Would like to get #33's car in the Perk as well and would be happy to pay for it.  PM me, please.  Would appreciate any leads.

Good to see footballfan and 413 linked together again on this board like the good old days!!

Thank you, BoBo.  It was so good to see you still hanging around the boards, too!   :-*

Welcome back to the boards 413- I hope all is well.
UWW's going to need some of your defensive mojo for this St. John's squad
Thank you, Emma, I think about you and your better half often.  Hope all is well.

Yes, Hawks will need a huge defensive showing this weekend to pull off a win against the Johnnies and their incredibly gifted QB.  His resume is unbelievable.  I already used one of my devices to cast a vote for him for the 2019 Gagliardi Award.  His football numbers are ridiculous but he really had me at "service trip to northern Thailand, where he worked with various organizations that fight child sex trafficking." WOW!   ;D

Going to need the same control of the LOS and TOP to keep him off the field as they did on Saturday against the Cru! And the LB's need to fly around. I have always said, even the great QB's can't make plays from the ground.   ;)  So here comes the MOJO

   DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONS!!!!

Yes, welcome 413.  We knew you never swayed....despite that Carroll fling.   ;D

I would't call it a fling. More like a brief flirtation...............   ;D :D 8-)

I've stayed off this board all season, but I do want to say hello to 413. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Oh my goodness, D.O.C.  This warms my heart!  Thank you and right back at ya! I sure have missed some of you lugs on these boards and you are right up at the top of that list!   I so hope you and yours are doing well!   :-* ;)

congrats Cru for the win today.  will have to play better next week to beat oshkosh.  should be a good game.

For what it's worth, that's what they do. Looked very similar to the game against Wheaton. It looks like they're plodding along and going conservative on offense but they put it on their defense to win.
Defense. Wins. Championships!

A huge congrats to the Cru, staff and fans! So happy for your program! This WIAC fan was rooting for you all the way!  Been a big fan ever since we traveled to Belton for our first meeting in 06!  For the first time since I started watching D3 football in 03, I feel like, "my team," wins no matter the outcome on Friday!
And the fake punt?  Damn, that was fantastic.  :o

Wow. Sad day for UWW. Just read that The Voice (Tom Pattison) passed away yesterday.  :'( Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

He was a huge presence within the UWW athletic community, the broadcast booth, booster clubs and these boards.

Tom will be missed.

An incredibly sad day for Warhawk Nation.  His dedication and support and coverage of our program was second to none.  Such a loss. Please, keep us posted regarding the service, Bleedpurple, and Co.  We are in Minnesota this week but would like to attend if possible.

Rest in peace, Voice.  Cancer may have taken you from us in the end but it never beat you!!   :'( :'( :'(

Jerrell Freeman, former Colts LB, fellow D-3 Football AA, Saskatchewan Roughriders rookie campmate, and MHB opponent of my son has signed with the Chicago Bears!   So excited!  What a D-3 success story he has become!  And, apparently, he really enjoys a home cooked meal.    ;D 8-)

Happy Easter to all!

Wow, just wow.......
Having not seen the Warhawks play, up close and personal, until the 2nd and 3rd round, I admit to having my doubts about a W yesterday but having said that, holding UWW to no TD's  blew my mind.  The Raiders were so impressive in all phases, (yes, DEFENSE does win championships,)  ;D and won the LOS on both sides.
Congrats on a terrific game and huge win.  No question who was the better team yesterday.  :)
