UC fights back form a 7-0 deficit at halftime.  Congratulations bears! Still not knowing much about CWRU it is tough to say alot about the victory.  The Bears defense is legit, one of the best actually, but the CC is still up for grabs.

Nice to see the Centennial on the front page of D3Football.com, even if it is just to question how legit UC's 4-0 (now 5-0) is.  Still not convinced that they will get any votes in the poll this week, though.

Thank you cwru70, and best of luck to the Spartans.

UC just took the lead 16-7 on a defensive fumble recovery in the endzone

illinihscoach,

I think you completely missed the point of the discussion I was trying to start...instead of exposing how weak the CC schools are, maybe you could tell us how conferences like the NESCAC and the UAA foster a competitive spirit and high level of interest in their programs while maintaining such high admission standards and a focus on academics.

If a conference or school makes a conscious decision to focus on these things, does the level of play necessarily have to fall, and if so, does that mean that fan interest will automatically wane?

Anyway...I'd like to see what UC can do on a nice day.  Is the conference race really as wide open as it appears heading into week 2?

All,

Does anyone else remember when people used to talk about the CC?  I know that in recent years the conference has made an effort to stress our academic and liberal arts heritage instead of nationally competitive football...but this is just boring.

Any predictions or insight for this week?  I was surprised to see my bears get the player of the week nod on both sides of the ball in a game that ended 6-0...any chance they can head into conference play at 2-1 or 3-0?
