baddog,

The point is well taken about how big early season victories are certainly diminshed if the opposing team faulters down the stretch. Perhaps in my language I should have used the phrase "have a legitimate chance" instead of "capable." I also think I should clarify that without doubt, HSU and UMHB are still the big dogs. My other four teams I feel "have a legitimate chance" to give the top two a run for their money in a ballgame. At the same time I think those four teams, TLU, MC, ETBU, HPU, all still are suseptable(sp?) to defeats at the hands of SRSU, LC, and McMurry.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I would argue that TLU, HPU, HSU, UMHB, MC and ETBU are capable of beating each other any given Saturday. I know I am going to take heat for the last two especially ETBU. But the Tigers are always loaded with athletes and MC supposedly has some great transfers and are very good upfront. Those are my "6 or 7" teams, actually 6. I was gonna argue LC but figured with a first year head coach and history of instability, I would get thrashed and it wasnt worth the fight.

I have been meaning to get on here and post and I am sure the absence of TLU posters has been conspicuous.

First hats off to a good Mississippi College team. Does anyone doubt that Norman Joseph is one of the top coaches in DIII?

Second, this loss maybe just what the Bulldogs need to refocus. They have always played UMHB tough and come up just short. Maybe this can motivate them even more(?)

Third, as I said earlier, this is just a phenomenal conference and should be a lot of fun to watch. Does anyone doubt that the top six or seven teams are capable of beating each other any given Saturday?

Should be a great game in Belton! Wish I could be there.

Amen mcdad. But I think everyone will agree that it should be a great year! Every team has reason to hope. Only time will tell if teams are contenders or pretenders.

I think something that was pointed out earlier, but was lost in the posting shuffle, was how much difference it makes when a team has already played a game. CNU already had one under their belt, UMHB did not. For years TLU played Trinity for an opener when Trinity had already played a game against Austin College. This is the first year the TLU/Trinity game saw both teams come in with a game under their belt. What will be interesting is how both the Bulldogs and Crusaders play this coming weekend...

14-9. Not quite the offensive output I would have thought but a win is a win! Take care of business in Mississippi!

First post so I might as well make it a bold one: TLU 35 Trinity 21. The Bulldogs are loaded on offense and defense. Vyvial will pick up right where Salinas left off.
