BU needs to find a way to put-it away in the 4th q. At M-H-B two years ago, start of the 4th, Up 28-17. M-H-B scored 24 unanswered points in the 4th to win 41-28. Still, what a great game yesterday at Sus. Can BU reload next fall since they will be losing so many Grad. students and Senior citizens?

D.O.C....Sorry to hear about your MACULAR DEGERATION. My wife's 83rd birthday today and we just came home from an appointment with an ophthalmologist. Same diagnosis...macular degeneration. I called her in to my office to read your post and then we continued to read the posts about the temps in MN., furnaces., etc. and laughed through every one. My wife is from ND. Thanks for the great posts and laughter.
It is 52 here in Puget Sound with a low tonight of 46 and we have had the furnace on for several weeks. We are missing our annual Fall trip to MN to see a couple of BU games and visit our two daughters and families and have opted for a Christmas trip. May have to fly back for the BU - St. John's game on November 16th.

I couldn't agree more. Perhaps not the laughing stock but at least made the conference as a whole weaker than it has been in years past. Who all was involved in making the decision?

Ice still admittedly has a lot to learn about MIAC football and this will be true for many years to come. Ice says, after saying that, he believes firmly after watching Bethel play a bunch this season that this team, while certainly loaded with talent on both sides of ball, is a very, very different team with and without Rockin Roste. Ice says some teams just are that way. They may have a plethora of playmakers and talent, but it's one player, sometimes two (maybe), that propel the team to meet it's true potential. Roste is one.
If you watched the UWP/Bethel game the Royals were simply a different offensive team (and believe Ice he means this with no disrespect to Bolt, but Roste's numbers rarely if ever look like 8-27 for 76 Yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs). Not only can anything happen when Rockin Roste is on the field, but the young man makes everyone better around him. To Ice, there sits the difference between a team that can defeat a very good Johnnies team one week and lose to a now seemingly high ceiling Platteville team who was also playing with their backup QB (If the Bear's ****ty memory is working) another.
Does Ice think with Roste that the Royals can win it all? No, probably not. Yet to infer that this team functions on a similar level when he is not grabbing the center's ass on each play, is simply erroneous at best.
Add Joey Kidder (Soph, 6-3, 210) at Wide Receiver and Nate Farm (Soph, 6-1, 215, First Team, All American, DIII last year as a freshman) at Free Safety to "Rockin Roste" and BU has at least three standouts who "propel the team to meet it's true potential"

On Bethel and just between us kids here on the MIAC boards, Roste is not the only big game hunter that Bethel has this year. The squad is loaded with seniors all over the place.
Current Bethel Depth Chart..2 deep...Offense: 6 seniors out of 22; Defense: 5 seniors out of 22; Special Teams: 0 Seniors. 25% Seniors on Offense and Defense isn't exactly "loaded". 22 Sophomores and Freshman out of 44 on the 2 deep chart is "loaded"!

Looking at the roots of the eight teams in the St. John's bracket, it's an ecumenical slugfest.
St. John's, Catholic; Lake Forest, Presbyterian; Linfield, American Baptist; Redlands, American Baptist; Mary Hardin, Southern Baptist; Trinity, Tx Presbyterian; Birmingham-Southern , United Methodist; Huntingdon, Methodist
Last post...will be watching BU basketball...lost to Gustavus this afternoon.
Go Johnnies...get a win for the MIAC

BU terrible on return coverage. Missed Nate Farm at SS. On the brighter side, BU only has 5 seniors on the 500 man roster.
BU will be back. Roste
Kidder begins practice with the BU basketball team on Monday.

Football and fotball...Much, much rather watch football, but Sat. Nov. 6th was in MN to watch fotball. Grandson, Sam Hoyt, Sr. Mounds View; MN. Mr. Soccer finalist, scored 2 of Mounds 3 goals in beating Rosemont (3-2) for the 3AAA state title. Made 4 of Mounds 5 goals in the three state matches. Finished a perfect day watching BU take on Augsburg.
I am hoping Sam takes his foot to BU, however have noticed that often BU's soccer matches are scheduled for Saturdays 1pm. Would have to watch BU football on my phone from the soccer field. All in all, that would be ok, don't you think?
D O.C. Appreciate the comment. "let's meet for fika someday."

Just want to let Schipper Strong know that there is another 80+ year old lurking on the MIAC board and have been for a long time.... I turn to the posts several times a day for great entertainment. Can't beat it.
From my posting archives...2004... got hammered pretty good, but OnearmedScot was sort of kind... " Keep in mind BU5758 is a 65 year old retired minister according to his profile. So, while his heart is in the right place, his thought process might be a bit distorted." Two days later, Sept. 25, OnearmedScot was in Puyallup for the PLU-River Falls game. Half time, I saw him on the PLU sideline and proceeded to knock his head off. Asked him if he recalled a recent post and we became friends (sort of).
Even though I live near Tacoma, I was in MN in 2007 and because of the snow forecast, my nephew (Dale Turnquist) and I rode the student bus from BU to Central for that playoff game. Stood the entire game because of the ice on the metal seats. Great win. We stayed overnight in Ames, Iowa, returned to Roseville Sunday morning with a BU fan.
Friday, we were in the car driving to Alliance for BU's semi-final game with the Mount.. My brother-in-law had just retired from teaching at Mt. Union and several times over the years had been the acting athletic director. Mts coach, Larry Kehres gave us eight reserved seats on the Mt. side, but since we were all BU grads we traded them in for seats with our BU friends on the other side of the field. Third play for Mt., Pierre Garcon left the BU db wondering what happened. (Mt. 62-BC 14)
Nice to see seven on the BU football team from WA state, four from Lakes HS in Tacoma. Just talked to the mother of Roste's roommate (Richardson, Bellevue WA) and she told me Roste.......
Looking forward to a deep run again for BU starting in approx.. 40 hrs.
