Ginn heading to Grand Valley State! That goes to show you that quality coaches rise to the top regardless of what division they coach in. I had no idea that NC Weslyan had made it to the playoffs as well. That is impressive for such a young program. Wartburg faithful, any word if Wheels is going to be heading to Michigan as well?

THIS IS INCREDIBLE!!
* Flashback *
It was a boring Thursday afternoon in Mid-September when someone came up with the idea of word associations for the conference stadiums. With out putting much thought into it, I came up with my list. On that list I referred to Coe's beloved stadium as "ghetto."
From that one tiny incident an entire chat room has focused a ridiculous amount of time and energy on the status of Coe's surroundings. Why hasn't anyone from BV came out with guns blazing because their stadium was referred to as a "tundra" or how come no one from Simpson is up in arms for the term "cat litter" as a description of theirs?
I was born and raised in CR and now live in the 3rd largest city in the US. I and I think everyone on here knows that Coe College is not in the ghetto. However, when comparing Coe's stadium to the picturesque views of Storm Lake, or the charm of Simpson College, there is certainly a difference, and again, I think everyone on here knows that.
So looking back on that day that changed D3football.com, this chat room and the Iowa Conference forever...I wish I could take back my one-word association of Coe's stadium and just call it what it is. A LANDFILL IN THE MIDDLE OF A CITY. Thank you.

Is there still a little grocery store down by the river? I think it was called Murrays.

Don't be fooled, K-Mack. Ghettos are to Iowa what Cedar Rapids is to a "big city." Some of these posters must never have left Iowa. Plus, it's a dirty recruiting tactic to portray Coe as urban and unsafe. To the contrary, our students find the college's proximity to be ideal for internship, networking and post-graduation employment opportunities. And there are more off-campus recreational options than any other IIAC school.

Whoa! Apparently there is a right and wrong answer with word associations. Take a deep breath there Charlie. I wasnt trying to muck up the '07 Coe recruiting class.

Coe - Ghetto
Hey Fightin' Dude to Munch,
Not sure on your definition.
1. it sucks, as in "this field is ghetto."
2. it is literally in the ghetto
Both are correct pertaining to Coe's field. Just wanted some clarification.
The Hy-vee down the street is called the "Ghetto-vee."
I was referring to the fact that it is located in the ghetto.
I remember back in the day when the Hy-Vee was called "Harlem Hy-Vee."

Long time reader, first time poster. 6-2, 220 (ding ding)
Glad to see that the girls at the Bing have calmed Tony down. For a while there, it looked as if Hoover was on a fast track visit from Paulie.
Word associations have never been my forte, but I will take a stab at the Iowa Conference Stadiums.
Central - Cornfield
Luther - Hole
Simpson - Cat Litter
BV - Tundra
Cornell - Train
Coe - Ghetto
Dubuque - Earth's end
Loras - Cliff
Wartburg - Rowdy (and I hate to say this, as a visiting team, it was the best game day atmosphere in the conference.)
