7-7 at the start of the 3rd. Any audio for this game?

DAW... you aren't loud at all. One of the most quiet parents I've ever met.....  ;)

Tooth, well played. We need some innuendo on the board.

Predictions for the week people?

Totally swamped for the last 2 weeks and haven't even been able to read the board, let alone post.

Tough loss to OXY for the Stags.. now, on the heels of the OXY win over Redlands, it is safe to say OXY is much stronger than might have previously been thought.
Good win by the Stags over ULV on Sat night. Strong performance all around from special teams, defense and offense. Much needed win, especially since we have struggled with ULV at times over the last several years. Well done. Hopefully things will continue on the upswing.

Finally, a thanks to FTP and DAW. Had a great time watching the game with you guys at Menlo. Best of luck the rest of the year and hopefully see you guys for the CMS game.

what a shocker last night..you would have thought the Trojan would have stuck it to the Beaver.
The Trojans had a hole in their defense. :D

Shocker - Trojan - Stick it to the "Beaver" - "hole in their defense"

At least Menlo won't have the smog that UoR does... ;)
Or the smallest visiting locker room in the history of football like Claremont does.

I've had much worse!
Earlham (NCAC) - tiny room with the toilet in the middle of the room
Whittier - outside, under a tent....
Redlands - I remember changing under the bleachers for some reason.....
Wittenberg (NCAC) - hard water in the showers and the smell of mold other things was horrible
I can't actually name the "best locker room facilities"

Best stadium I've played in? North Central's field (I think)

I wonder why they do not use a local HS field instead? I would think there is a good public or private HS facility w/ Field Turf nearby.

B64 - You can leave the girlfriend at the Ferry Building for Farmers Market and she can then make her way to Union Square for shopping. This way you can attend the game........ just a thought.....

We SCIAC posters have a long history of identifying impostors

Someone should ask CalSon if he has a daughter at Azusa Pacific who's a cheerleader and is also the childhood friend of one of APU's three freshman quarterbacks.

I have never seen such board unity before....

I'm doubting CalSon's "SCIAC experience".

On to the season! Unfortunately no CMS game this weekend. Guess it just means I won't be checking the Berry for updates all Saturday afternoon. Need to do some due diligence on Oxy to see what is in store. Played them very close last year. Looking forward to what OB, Tooth, etc. can add to this upcoming matchup.

Thank you Tooth.

My thoughts exactly.

FTP, DAW and ECS are going to the Whittier - Menlo game. Anyone else? I hope to meet up with you.
(Sorry ECS no LR buttons to hand out but if you want we'll Bring you a Fear the Poet Shirt to wear... They'll know your're with us!!)

Probably a good idea. ECS only wears his "Fear the Stag" t-shirt in singles bars.

Not in this city... some leggy girl named Ted would attempt to pick me up. HA!

But I still do use my plethora of tshirts.

Well after reading several of your responses, I've come to realize I was wrong.

I thought it was Azusa Pacific that ran from the SCIAC teams, but by what is being said on here, it was the SCIAC teams that ran.

I don't buy the argument that those regional games are good for alumni and "parents travel well."  Football, and any collegiate sport, exists first and foremost for the students and faculty/staff in order to create and enhance community on campus, then the parents and alumni matter after that.  It doesn't do the students and faculty/staff any good for a small college to blow a significant amount of $$$ so that 55 guys can travel out of the area to play a football game where there are ample opponents in the area.  That's just poor fiscal responsibility.

I also don't buy the argument from OxyBob that it helps recruiting.  Oxy has one Oregon player on the team, and if I read you right, Oxy has never been to Washington but has 9 appleheads on their team.  Oxy isn't getting the bang for its buck, or your logic is flawed.  Or maybe both.

Finally, since when was the SCIAC so interested in the postseason that it's dropping serious bank to fly all over and play patsies.  What is the SCIAC's collective postseason record in football?  Not good.  Might as well stay in Southern California so the students, faculty/staff and even the president can attend the games.

I've come to the conclusion that SCIAC football coaches have an incestious relationship, and maybe the ADs and presidents are all in on it too.  It's too bad. It only hurts the SCIAC and enhances everyone's opinion in the DIII world that the SCIAC is a poor athletic conference.  To steal a line from someone on here, I don't know why SCIAC schools have football.

I refuse to dignify your ignorance of the purpose of D3 football and athletics with a response.

For the Menlo game, do we all get a little button that identifies us as part of the LR fan club??
I'll have to do my laundry so I have some fresh STAG gear.

Pomona head coach Roger Caron was his usual wry self while describing the Sagehens' defensive effort against Lewis & Clark, in this item from the San Bernardino Sun:

Quote
Pomona-Pitzer picked up its first win, beating Lewis & Clark 62-25 in a game coach Roger Caron said was closer than the score indicates. The Sagehens (1-1) only led 28-21 at the half and 35-28 late in the third quarter.

Sophomore quarterback Jacob Caron threw ran for 126 yards and five touchdowns and threw for 315 and two others. The coach said he didn't know off hand but would check to see what school records his son bested.

While the offensive performance was encouraging, the defensive effort was not. Fortunately he has an extra week to work on it with the Sagehens having a bye this week.

"I am definitely concerned," the coach said. "We have a tough time matching up with anyone physically, but we can't be mentally deficient too."

OxyBob

Going out on a limb.. I would wager that with a 62-25 score, Caron is interested in boosting his kid's stats.... laying it on that much in the 4th quarter once you have a lead is a dick move. If the 2nd teamers are scoring at will, that's fine, can't fault a kid for trying. But if your 1st teamers are going for broke w/ a large lead - poor sportsmanship (and this is from someone who doesn't really believe in sportsmanship to begin with) ...just a guess.....

While I agree with this in theory I do have a question.  Does PP even have a second team offense?  They had one other QB listed who is a freshmen and their kicker.

If that is the case, then I am right in my assessment.
