John Gagliardi was talking with Bob Sansevere again:

People think about going to Rome and the Vatican. I've been a guest of Jim Tressel's at Ohio State. And I've been with Phil Fulmer at Tennessee. And Steve Spurrier when he was at Florida. And I've visited with Brian Billick and the Baltimore Ravens. I'll never forget those days. To me, that's far better than visiting the pope. I hate to say that as a Catholic. I'll probably be excommunicated.

If I had a time machine, I'd like to go back and replay that game we lost to Bethel

...I read this as well in the paper today.   Of all the things I'd do with a time machine, the last thing I'd want to do is go back and replay a football game.  Say all you want, SJU getting beat by BU is a big deal, more important than them (SJU) getting beat in the playoffs!!  If the season were to end this weekend for SJU, they'd rather had beaten BU than make it another round!!

It's always a big deal to win the big games, but I think when it comes down to it, anyone would rather win in the playoffs and keep advancing towards the ultimate goal.

Check the little rubber bits coming up from the field (McNamara's cleats) in this picture.   What I've heard from players re fields like this is that this stuff can fly into your eyes and be a real nuisance (esp. since in some cases these shavings may be metal as well as rubber).

I was wondering that as well.  There are a couple other shots from the game where a player's head is in the dust.  I believe this stuff is used in the HumpDome and you know the Vikes would never do anything to cause their game to deteriorate...  Actually, I first noticed it seeing a shot of a short hop to Tori Hunter.  I wondered if that stuff would bounce up into a guy's eyes.

It gets in your eyes...as well as about every other crevice of your body.
