BTW...
Can anymore UWEC fans give me some negative karma???
Hilarious when they can't win the discussion with facts, they resort to anonymous negative karma givers....

Lefty- I applaud you for doing the research. Champ wanted investigating done as in the bulk vs champ debate on UWEC vs Stout wins. But shame on you lefty for doing some good investigative work on the officiating process. Hilarious. ;
Boy, another UWEC fan that still is spewing sour grapes...
It wasn't much of a debate. bulk posting things that I knew were wrong, and I corrected him. End of story.
DPU was casting aspersions against one of the best, most impartial officials in the WIAC. Scott doesn't (and shouldn't) post here, so was unable to defend himself from the accusations. I defended him, and backed it up with facts. End of story.

The third official that night is a Scott Doberstein. Mr. Doberstein was not an official for any previous WIAC games, but there is a Scott T. Doberstein who works as the athletic trainer at UW-Lacrosse. Perhaps that's nothing more than a strange coincidence, but I'm inclined to believe otherwise.
It was the "same" Scott Doberstein. But that is a good thing.
Why?
If Stout was playing LaCrosse, I would have no fears if Scott was one of the officials. He may work for LaCrosse, but he officiates like a pro, and is nothing if not totally unbiased. Scott has officiated games between Stout and LaCrosse - and I fully expect him to offiate some more in the future.
I find it funny that you don't want to be accused of sour grapes, but you've spent enough time investigating the officials to know where one of them works....

More good news for UWW: Howard Payne beat Hope. Now UWW (and the other two Final Four participants) don't have to worry about dealing with Hope on its home court.

WHITEWATER never trailed but LaCrosse kept the score close early and trailed 18-14 at the 10 minute mark. However WHITEWATER turned it up a notch or two at that point, assumed a double digit lead and though LaX cut it to 8 and 9 points led 41-28 at the half. The second half was all WHITEWATER as they quickly pushed the lead to 20+ points and saw it grow to as many as 35 before finishing at 92-62.
Lyndsey Buechner led the WARHAWKS with 19 points and reached the 1,000 point career plateau finishing with 1001 points. Kelsey Henrickson went 6-6 from the floor for 16 points. Heidi Sontag scored 13 points, Tiffany Morton 12 and Rachael Woolever 11 to round out five players in double figures. Morton led the team in rebounding with 7 boards.
WHITEWATER'S pressure defense was again a significant factor as LaX turned the ball over 25 times including 13 steals.
The win keeps the WARHAWKS team record win streak intact as they improve to 14-0, 5-0 and the stage is set for the showdown with Eau Claire this weekend. It was the sixth time this season in which they have scored 90 or more points.
Champ, you'll never understand but that's ok.

I just dare to call it like I see it. You don't have to like what I say or agree with it. There will be some disagreements on these boards from time to time.
Seems like I hit a nerve...
There goes your "Sub in..sub out...sub in...sub out..." theory. Both teams played 12 players. It makes it easy when you prove me right with your own words...
We can dispute whether EC is the more talented team later, but they outplayed us that night for sure.
You called what you didn't see... That is the problem with your position. I didn't like what you said and I didn't agree with it because you are wrong. Sure there will be some disagreements on this board, but you are the only one (so far, anyway) maintaining your current erroneous position.
Seems like we (myself and some others) hit a nerve...
Quote from: The Champ on January 05, 2008, 09:06:20 AMQuote from: hoops49 on January 02, 2008, 11:53:44 PMI'm getting 21 from their roster that is on their website.
So you researched Stout enough to know that they had 21 players come out for the team at the start of the season. Great!
But did you take the time to research the last game? Apparently not. Maybe you should do better investigative work before posting here.
Stout's starters total playing time in that last game:
Julia Hirssig - 15 minutes
Lindsey Geissler - 17 minutes
Joanna Bird - 18 minutes
Charlee Edwards - 12 minutes
Dani Boese - 11 minutes
In the second half of the game, the starters never even broke a sweat with the following playing times:
Julia Hirssig - 3 minutes
Lindsey Geissler - 5 minutes
Joanna Bird - 5 minutes
Charlee Edwards - 3 minutes
Dani Boese - 3 minutes
Coach T took Stout's normal full court press off midway through the first half. Every player on the team had at LEAST 7 minutes of playing time. A lot of the "sub and run" (your words) was done with third or fourth stringers subbing for second or third stringers
Stout opened the season with an extremely difficult non-conference schedule - playing the Badgers (exhibition), and DII teams from Mankato, St. Cloud and Bemidji.
As already noted, Stout went down to Florida to play in a tournament. The only request Coach T made of the scheduler is that they not play UW LaCrosse - as UWL is a conference school. One should understand how tournament scheduling works, before casting aspersions that it was Stout's intention to get matched up against a pair of "cupcakes" in a holiday tournament in Florida.QuoteI don't know how you can say the size of roster doesn't matter. It sure does. Depth....fresh players. That is why Stout is so successful.
How do you explain Stout's loss to UWEC (oh how it pains me to say that...) in the conference opener then? EC has fewer players, so they must have lost, right???
No, EC was a better team (that day anyway).
Stout and Coach T have been successful because of a lot of hard work and dedication from the players and the coaching staff. It takes that in order to make all those players function cohesively as a team.
Basketball is a team game - and the players must play together as a unit to obtain their success.
If your thoughts and theories have only been strengthened in this recent discussion, may I suggest that it is only because of hardening of the arteries in your brain...

Sorry, but if you're going to get on here and boast people will be curious enough to see why Stout beat up on them.......no competition.
People on here are curious to see how teams in the WIAC do. That's what I posted, how Stout did in this tournament. Call that boasting? There's alot of boasting then that goes on in Post Patterns/Posting Up.Quote from: Just Bill on January 01, 2008, 11:08:41 PM
If a team has 22 kids that stink, they won't beat anybody.
Exactly.Quote from: hoops49 on January 02, 2008, 02:02:47 PM
You're entitled to your own thoughts and theories. Mine certainly have not changed, but strengthened. I'll just leave it at that.
And your theory is what?

Where do you get 21 their is only 19 and one is still out with injury
