Sorry by MM I meant mid-major.

The best college basketball coaching guy in the nation........www.hoopdirt.com......not the best site everyone knows that is www.d3hoops.com

My guess is once those guys see salary limitations for themselves, and assistants, as well as looming budgetary issues, some of those guys will stay away.

Tim Buckley made almost 300K last year at IU - http://www.indystar.com/story/money/2014/07/09/interactive-public-university-coach-salaries/12364057/
(however he may want to get out of Bloomington on his own terms)

Sanchez might have backing of his boss who was a pretty good player at GB, but I bet dad back's his former PG.

Still think the D3 guys in Wisconsin will be involved on this one.

Anybody's thoughts on Pat Miller or Bob Semling getting UW-Green Bay job, or at least being in the mix?  Both extremely qualified IMHO + UWGB needs to get back to getting MM players from Wisconsin.  What got them to the NCAA tournament back in the 90's.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but Dekker wasn't coming back regardless of what he did over the weekend. He would have gained nothing by staying at UW next year. Not when every NBA person who watched him last summer said he was the best player at the invite camps. He was going to be a first round pick......the past few days have just helped his media and fan stature (scouts already knew what he was capable of doing). Not sure what he did the past few days equates to him sliding up a few picks, but it certainly didn't hurt.

On another side note it has been hilarious reading comments, tweets, and stories put out by some of NE Wisconsin media. Trying to say that Wardle going to Bradley is a lateral move.  Let's see: tripled his salary, a league with multiply NCAA bids, tradition rich, near where he recruits most of his players, on campus facility, more funding, league with an RPI of 9 compared to 17.

Wish most of them would just stick to covering the Packers and football.  Most have just looked stupid over the past few days.

Other names to add to UWGB interest list (some w/D3 ties):
Pat Miller UW-Whitewater
Eric Konkol - assistant coach for Larranaga at U. of Miami (was w/him at George Mason) / played at UWEC I think
Jason Kalsow - assistant coach at Toledo / UWSP legend

Don't think Tharp will be a player here, but he does have a very influential (i.e. person with lots of $$$$$) backer in NE Wisconsin, and UWGB may be out around $247K they were receiving annually from Oneida Tribe. (http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/education/2015/03/13/uwgb-faces-nearly-cut-oneida-funding/70299734/

However, Grzesk has certainly endeared himself to many important people in GB as well. Have friends that have attended SNC steak fry who say it is a whose who of GB$$ people.

This one should be interesting to watch......I've got my bowl of popcorn!

Story from Wishoops (Mark Miller) - St. Norbert College picked up commitments from DJ DeValk (Little Chute) PG, Reggie Roemer (Madison Memorial) PG, and Mitch Winter (De Pere) 6-5 wing. All played in winning high school programs. Saw DeValk and Winter play this year. Remember seeing someone from UWSP and UWO at Litte Chute games.  Already had Oskey from Seymour and kid from Pacelli who was conference POY.

Green Knights seem to adhere to the phrase, 'we don't rebuild, we reload'.

Greek Tragedy - thanks for the run down on who is and is not returning.

With regards to the height thing most schools add inches.  Someone from Green Bay was trying to argue with a friend of mine that Keifer Sykes was 5-11.  The only way he's 5-11 is if he's wearing shoes designed for JLo (my wife watches Idol).

There are 14 class of 2014 Wisconsin HS players going DII.

Here is a link of Wisconsin's class of 2014: http://www.wissports.net/Playground/default.aspx?g=posts&t=1239599

Cubs - thanks for correcting me a page back.

John Gleich - love your thoughts on student fan groups.

Greek Tragedy - thanks for sharing this.....hope he can make up the 8% before tomorrow night.

LUSid - thanks for correcting all of us with LaVoy.....old enough to remember watching Tharp play for Desotell so I'll blame it on age.

The Roop - anyone who is as dedicated a D3hoops fan as you would get my vote any day of the week and twice if I were dead (with ACORN's help).

Although having the MWC Tournament in De Pere has been pretty nice.  Thanks to UW-Milwaukee it will probably stay there.

Can one of you regulars who understands all this stuff explain why UW-Whitewater couldn't have been placed in the bracket below UW-Stevens Point?  Warhawks could be playing at IWU instead of UWSP.

Could be worse though as we've seen with women's sectional play.  Whitewater, Point, and Carthage all traveling to Indiana.

The Lawrence player with the head band was Nate Leverance.  Kyle McGillis also sported one during the 2005-06 season (when LU finished 25-1 and lost to IWU in Sweet 16 game).  Some of you may remember that era when LU was today's SNC.

I kind of liked the good ole days when the MWC conference tournament was held in Appleton.

Anyone see the scathing article in last weeks Journal-Sentinel about UWO athletics/baseball/stadium renovation project?  Could this place be as functionally challenged as it appears?

With regards to the basketball program I have heard that Juckem and Lewis have been everywhere this summer.  I saw both at NY2LA tournament at Homestead last week.

Green Bay Press-Gazette reported on Friday that UW-Green Bay coach Brian Wardle is keeping his job.

SNC fans your coach is safe.....for another year.
