I think that the good NESCAC teams would obliterate Ivy JV teams.

Ivy's don't have scholarships, right?

A lot of people would chose Williams and Amherst and maybe another NESCAC or two as better academic institutions than all or most of the Ivy's.

Don't see where their huge advantage is, particularly for their JV teams!

Dude who cares...it wont ever happen....there will never be an answer to an argument such as WHO WOULD WIN....BC JV or Williams.....and this message board should be about the NESCAC and the teams performances within in NESCAC not how every NESCAC team would measure up against other divisions...if any of us were that good ....we would have all been playing somewhere else so who cares about that crap....because you are just going to argue semantics

Actually Wes supposedly has a solid speed back to go with their spread Offense...so if anyone saw the scrimmage i would love to know how it went

Does anyone know how Wes is going to look this year?

is a small roster typically a result of the staff or of admissions?

Admissions....the staff at Hamilton has all the credentials needed to recruit the student-athletes needed to be competitive in the NESCAC.  As said before by a few posts their D was good last year and Stetson (the Head Coach) has been every where from Hartwick (which has lead D3 in passing for much of the last 10 years or near the top) to UNH (he was David Ball's WRs coach).  They have made a commitment in hiring a good staff now they need a little help with admissions.

PCU is a great movie, but to expect that Wes U is really like it is the same thing -- as mentioned above -- as saying Dartmouth is just like Animal House.

I'm fully confident that the football team is capable of having a great time there, despite the fact that there are more and more vocal "protester-types" that attend Wes U than most other colleges.  They offer nothing if not comedic value.

I'd guess that the number of PETA-types probably roughly equals the number of trust-fund babies at Trinity or Williams who pop their collars up.  Sure, they are often the cause of some annoyance to the "regular students", but perhaps their numbers and effect on campuses are overstated.

Hahaha that was won of the funniest messages I have ever read on this discussion board to date...

When I played I didn't care about the walk or where my school's fans were going to sit....all i cared about was how i liked to play on that specific field....the more a field is surround by a stands and trees the more it reminded me of a stadium...Do you also realize Trinity is only team in the NESCAC that has their bench on the opposing team's sideline...(TRIN 8-0) I don't want to hear about the genius behind that idea haha....that's just weird....Amherst is underrated....it definitely competes with Midd...

andrus was always a pretty cool field to play on.  i thought midd and wlms had the best in terms of scenery.  hamilton was the worst place to play because they stuck the visitors in the shade on the home side of the field.  had to be a 10 degree difference in temp.

Williams was aweful....and the stands seem to be miles from the field....hamilton has a great field...i don't really care about the fans....how many people other than family is gonna make that trip anyway.....Midd is nice too but many forget about Bowdoin....thats a cool field especially with the old stands..i think the more confining a field felt the more i liked it.

In the late Fall of '02 and into the spring of '03 Wes lost 14 players. 8 of which were starters not mention the best Linebacker in 01 who was put into a coma by a hit run accident in Texas that went unsolved.

Hahah first off it was Themistocles.  Tom was the RB and he was good as anyone in the late 90's in the NESCAC but his brother was Tuff Todd and he was the one who torched Trinity on that day.

From the games I've listened to this year, it seems that Wes is still pass-happy.  And they do not seem to have as talented QB/receivers as they did when that offense worked in years past.

My only explanation for this is that the running game is even less effective.  In any event, the defense does not get to rest much.

Actually it has been an overwhelming problem in the offensive line recruitment....Wes hasn't been able to bring in the powerful and larger OLine guys needed to play an iso and outside zone running attack but that's not due to a lack of effort to get those guys....Trin/amh/williams have been taken the majority of those guys over the years.  Once wes gets a few guys up front that compliment the rest of the league year in and year out then you will see a change in the style of offense.

I'm new to this whole thing but I have a few questions for those that have attended any of the nescac games.

1) Why isn't Trinity scoring points?  They only had 13 v Hamiton.

2) How did Amherst not win against midd?  I don't care what you say  about ball control Amherst has better talent.

**Note:  trin and amh both very strong QBs besides a solid running game**

3)  Why is Colby down this year?

4) Is Williams good again?

...and please I dont care what school you went to, so an objective answer will do just fine
