Hoping for another big year for the cru!! Especially hoping we will whip up on HSU this year. I'm working with an HSU alum and I would like bragging rights for the year. So get after them boys!

Haha..We sound like Jerry Jones and the cowboys of the early to mid 90's that's funny. Tigerkat you have lots of bravado. I like it. Spicing things up in march and fueling conversation long before football season starts. I think the UMHB fans have reason to talk and be confident. We have been at the top since 2001. That's not just a good freshmen class of recruits. That's year after year solid recuiting and solid play on the field. There is a solid foundation for us to speak upon. I hope your team can back your mouth up. Let's get this season started!

ETBU 27.. I like the confidence you are showing in your squad. Y'all did play UMHB close last year but HSU beat you handily. There could have been some factors into UMHB being down. Long road trip, not very fired up to play..Excuses I know y'all played a heck of a game. What may I ask gives you confidence that y'all will go from middle of the league to the top this year?

I'm excited but a bit jealous about the planned upgrades for the umhb football program. A new fieldhouse and an expanded weight room will be a great addition to a growing program and should continue to attract recruits. Throw in a football stadium on campus and you can't beat it. I myself would have loved to have our own stadium when I played. Hopefully this will bring even more fans to the game to cheer on the cru. I can't wait to see it finished.

First of Minni, I'll speak on the Coach Fred. I played for UMHB from 2001-2004. He definetly would not condone any outwardly dirty type of play form any of his players. We were taught I imagine same as HSU to play very physical and hard but to have class. Did everyone adhere to that no but that's the message the head coach conveys. As far as wanted to get a team back I see no problem with that at all. I coach as well and if I notice a team is being dirty and taking cheap shots I try to put points as many points on the board as possible. That's the way to get back at them with in the rules.

Thanks for the link I wish I'd had know about that when I played. It still looks as though UMHB is ahead of Hampden-Sydney in a few of the criteria. I did not look through schedules at the opponents so I don't have all the facts. There are still a few weeks to go though. Although I don't know that it benefits UMHB to play at home more. They play very strong on the road during playoff games.

How is Hampden-Sydney in front of Mary Hardin-Baylor in the South region right now? Is it only because they are 8-0 right now compard to the Cru's 7-0?

The CRU head to Alpine this week. What an awful drive. 8 hrs of nothingness. I wander how this year's team will handle the road trip and game. When I played that was always one of the hardest games to get up for. Did any of you other players on here have a hard time getting focused to play the Lobos in Alpine?

I see, Thanks Ralph. I think that is a pretty cool feature. I like your vocabulary choice with smited.
If you want to boost your karma, go over to the OAC board and start talking about how Mount Union should be a DII school.

Crukid, When I was playing for UMHB the defense was running a 4-2-5. Is the same true? I thought that was a very good defense to defend both pass and run. Granted we had some very good athletes at that time and that always makes things look better.

Haha, cowboyfan..I don't remember to many cowboy fans agreeing with Cru fans either. It's not a happy marriage.
