Solid win for the Bombers yesterday over Brockport....the Bomber posters seem way too quiet. Brockport has shown improvement, with a win over Cortland to their credit. Pep wants to hear what the Bombers did to get back into winning form.
IC played a very sound football game yesterday. They got big plays when they needed them (example: The 88-yard TD pass from Juvan to Crandall), and played very solid defense, limiting the Golden Eagles, not a bad team at all, to just 53 rushing yards.

Here's hoping they use this momentum to even up their E8 record against Norwich and Utica.

Ithaca 34, Brockport 14. The Bombers played a solid game today, and it resulted in their third win of the season.

Amen. Would give you karma if I could.

All for dropping it, man. Only concern now is watching some good football, hopefully played by the two E8 teams in the tourney that will (again) hopefully bring more prestige into the conference.

First chance I've had to post since Cortaca. It was a tremendous game. Both teams played very well. HOWEVER, Ithaca got hosed in overtime. They stripped the ball while the Cortland RB was standing up, and they called him down by contact. Then a very good kick from 39 yards in the rain ends the game.

If IC had merely stuffed him at the 21, and the kicker booted it in, fine. But he should've never had the chance. That was an absolutely terrible call.

IC guy - I wasn't at the game so I have no real frame of reference here but I believe the other Bomber posters would agree that even if that was a bad call, they wouldn't use the refs for an excuse. There were 4 full qtrs for your guys to pull it out.

Sounds like Cortland just got the better of you on that day is all.

Tags- great post. I've always said that if you're saying the refs blew a game, your team didn't do what it could have to win. There are very, VERY few games where a team does all it can to win but the refs blow it. I don't know if I've ever seen one. (Tags I know you as a Red Sox 1999 ALCS fan will agree with me.) What about Juvan overthrowing everyone but Paul Bunyan in the first? What about the complete shutdown of Donovan in the second half? The refs did not blow the game for IC. IC didn't take care of business, just like they didn't against Alfred. It's a tough pill to swallow, but them's the breaks.

IC PA guy- I think if you want to post on this board, you should change your handle. Whether or not you just repeat what is happening on the field, if you are in that press box you are some sort of journalist. And a journalist should not be on here bitching about the refs, ESPECIALLY if he works for IC. This is just my opinion. You could be like JT, and be a journalist when you want to sound smart and a fan when you want to spout off, but most reasonable people don't respect that kind of hypocrisy. Again, just my opinion.
I respect your opinion, now here's mine. Yes, there were spots where IC just didn't convert. To name a few: Juvan overthrowing Heenahan on the deep ball in the 1st quarter, not shutting down Cortland before they scored their last TD, allowing some sizable plays through the air to Cortland's third (and sometime fourth) string QB. But I did NOT say that they got hosed in any other part of the game than overtime. Mistakes happen.

In regards to the name thing: I won't change it. Here's why. I consider myself an objective person. Just because I'm affiliated with an institution doesn't automatically make me a homer. Find out for yourself as I post more often on the forums. If you agree, drop the issue. If you don't, just don't read my posts. Simple as that.

Dude you came on here bitching about the refs, and you're not a homer? There's a difference between being objective and not saying ANYTHING subjective because you represent an objective post (PA guy), and you have already failed at that with your post earlier today. Go read IC's sports releases, see how many times they even mention a questionable call (hint: 0). If you really consider yourself to be a responsible member of the team that presents IC football, you'll do like the rest of us (Joseqviper, myself, john mcgraw, realistic, cazbombers) and wait til you get out of the press box before becoming a fan. Can't (publicly) be both, the posts of fan and journalist are mutually exclusive. Others can tell you what happens if you say something on here the IC Athletic department doesn't agree with and they know who you are.... you will get a world class dressing down.
Better?

Bottom line: Alfred's a good team that capitalized on IC's mistakes this afternoon. No way they get in with 2 losses. Not happening.

Cortaca got interesting in a different way, though. Now Cortland needs to beat IC to make the playoffs, pretty much. And you know IC's gonna come out breathing fire after the letdown game this week.

Hey PA guy.  Good work this year.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I love what I do, wouldn't trade it for anything.

Can we get a big defensive play for IC?

Please?

just got word Cortaca tickets sold out here at IC...sold out in two hours...no word if they are getting more....wow...that was fast...
Having been there, I am not surprised. The line was up and down the top floor of the Hill Center, and then down the stairs to the second level. I was there around 5:45, started selling around 6:30. Amazing turnout.

IC PA guy... here's my impression of you at the Utica game:

"Test, test, can everyone hear me... alll riiiighhhht!"

Way to keep it together.
LOL...gee thanks.

Despite the slip-ups, I wouldn't trade the gig for anything in the world. Inside seat, looking out on the stadium and Lake Cayuga, and a pretty darned good team in the Bombers that didn't lose at home all year.

And they pay me to do this...
