once again....i thought i clarified in the last post....in the first line......the part of the arguement that is ridiculous is saying they lost for 2 reasons one being coaching......obviously coaching is a part of it but it isn't one of two main reasons point lost that game........that my friend is ridiculous....whether it is an opinion or not

The part of the arguement that is ridiculous is the part saying that there were two reasons why they lost....one of them being coaching, obviously I know coaching has a part in every loss and if you read the articles on the game Egner takes responsibility for being apart of it...it would be like asking hte question do you think that the reason UWW has beaten a handful of teams by 20+ this year is because they are really that much better or because the other team has bad coaching?

the stats I looked at were out of 59 shots 19 were threes......having watched a few Pointer games I am guessing they were off kick offs since Egner isn't the type to let kids jack threes....my second stat I looked at was season TO's for Kranz.....(i know you are all thinking why this stat but try to put two and two together on this one)

I think Kranz is a great player from what I have seen and I think Point is a great team....my point.....give credit to UWO for a great W instead of saying your team handed it to them....Zero earned it that day.

2 reasons why Point lost.  Terrible shooting and bad coaching.  Someone needs to take some responsibility other than the players...

I agree 100% with the terrible shooting.....but to say one of two reasons they lost is bad coaching is stupidity.......you don't have to be at the game to know they got out played in just about every aspect of the game....I just find it amazing how "great" coaches are when teams are winning but the first "bad" loss and it all of the sudden isn't the players fault....I am not saying that coaching has nothing to do with it but putting in the top two reasons a team loses by almost 20 is ridiculous........as for Kranz needing to get the ball more...I wasn't there so I can't make a fare assumption but my guess (from looking at stats) is that about 50% of the touches inside got kicked out for lower percentage shots.....which means ALL of their inside players should have taken a few more higher percentage shots rather than kicking it out when they felt the pressure from the D...

I am loving the race right now....can't wait to see how it finishes out!!

In 2002 Point Women went to Wash U the first weekend and hosted the second...in 2004 they won the tourney championship and ended up hosting both...

Congrats to the Pointer Seniors on a win on Senior DAy. Looks like big games from Sporle, Neuenfeldt, and Kranz....Lechault had a big defensive day! Good to see Senior Becky Pepper getting a chance to contribute to a big win. Hopefully they can ride this momentum through the rest of the season....it is always a confidence booster to beat a team like Stout.

haha...finally some talk on here....it has been a while since we have had this much talk in 2 days time.....

I know it sounded bad but I know coaches have their "practice" teams play a little dirtier when preparing for Stout...it wasn't a knock to women's basketball at all....basketball isn't about pulling shirts and being held....but a lot of this stuff is being let go more and more in our league because of how the officiating has gone down....I can count on maybe 1 hand how many officials are "decent" in the league and that is it. So yes I agree with how officiating has gone bad in the league....BUT i do know being an official sucks...never officiated this league but it seems more and more that people are so quick to blame officials before actually being accountable for there own actions...


so here is a question....with so many losses in the league do you guys think we only get 1 into the tourney again?

The key to the game was when Stout went on an 11-2 run to close out the first half.   Jenny McDermid scored five points in the run and Julia Hirssig  added four points as we took a 12 point lead into the locker room.  That threw the UWEC game plan out the window, and the Blugolds were never able to make a strong enough run to get closer than 6 in the second half.

Great crowd of over 2,000 people last night.  First WIAC team to break the 2,000 mark all season!

I find it funny that any Stout fan would be displaying pics of holding jerseys and what not considering that any coach in the WIAC that I talk to prepares for Stout in the practices before by have players hold jerseys and play as physical as possible.

Sounds like WW is the big surprise this year....too bad EC didn't make a better showing to make things a little more interesting in the standings.

I had the pleasure of sitting through the RF/UWSP game on SAturday......the only pleasure being that the buzzer sounded before RF could push it above 30....props to RF they made it look easy....it is very disappointing to see a UWSP team play the way they did....usually they play with a lot of intensity...Saturday they looked like deer in headlights

I agree.  With a very favorable schedule now (lots of home games), and players like Boese, Oeltjen, and Hirssig really stepping up, I don't see anyone else in the conference touching them. 

i think we are forgetting they have to travel to Point who always plays them tougher at home.....home team has a history of winning the battle between these two teams....don't start crowning anyone yet

I was very surprised on the RF/WW games...RF just seems to be falling apart after a strong start....after checking that box score i noticed Kelsey Hendrickson has yet to see the floor...I heard she was out for the year?? any insight?? I heard she is a great player so I am just curious as to when she will be able to add her ability to an already growing WW program
