The current condition of Clark Field looks pretty similar to how it looked on most game days. Sorry, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the webcam. Looks like both Eby and Clark will be pretty nice by next season.

I don't think Simpson will be taking any spring trips while Neimann is there. His reasoning was that he thought it would divide the team between those who went (had the $ to go) and those who didn't. I guess I can see his point, but I think the pros definitely out-weigh the cons when it comes to a team trip to Europe to play a game.
WH- Any word on what the 'burg is going to do with the scoreboard? Are they going to leave the one on the North side and put up a new one on the South side? Linfield has a video board with feed from a press-box camera and a sideline camera for replays...what's another mil to Jack?

My priorities still lie in Iowa City every other Saturday in the fall so I won't be making an all IIAC tour this year. Would like to catch a Simpson game and am counting on showing WH what real taigaiting is all about at Wartburg's homecoming (do you start at 6 am?...that's the only way I tailgate). Sorry WH, but Iowa vs. Minnesota is the day of the Wartburg-Central rivalry so we'll have to rely on a constant stream of text messages for updates on the IIAC champioship game (if things pan out the way you forsee them).

Just looking at the Iowa schedule and was checking to see if I could make it to tailgate at a Wartburg game this year and it looks like the homecoming game vs. Coe is a good possiblity. So Walston, I'm assuming you're planning on being there but didn't know if you actually taigate or not. I've never really done any official tailgating at the 'burg and thought it might be a good time. BTW, nice work on the canoe sight!

So now Valley is the bad guy as well...must be some major brainwashing going on over there at Dowling.
I will admit that Simpson's turf has some issues (turf pulls up in places, moves, etc)....which I really don't understand because if I recall we spent just as much if not more than Warturg did on their turf. Don't quote me on that, but I think I remember that from somewhere. Either way, Simpson messed up bigtime by putting those ugly soccer lines on the field and not filling in the endzones. Whatever you have to do to save a buck I guess. That being said, I always liked our turf and was a good investment when compared to grass.

Exactly Knightlife... it is during the first year that the rubber pellets are a problem, after a few years of getting worked in they aren't flying around everywhere. As soon as I saw this conversation turn toward field turf I was just waiting for someone to bring up Simpson's turf, so you came through for me on that one too Knightlife. You said it best "Simpson's field is not that great just because it is a different surface than Wartburg's". Different than Wartburg = Bad.

I just want to throw this out there- Sure Grossman threw two ill-advised (and just flat out bad) passes that resulted in pics, but he didn't have THAT bad of a game. 20-28 for 190 yards (not sure on the yards and i'm too lazy to look it up) with a TD and 2 ints. I'm watching Letterman right now and he got a shot in on him and all day on ESPN they were debating whether or not Grossmann played the worst Super Bowl ever.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Lost a lot of respect for ESPN because they are just jumping on the bandwagon of everyone raggin on Rex. Anyway, I know he didn't play well, but to say he had the worst performance ever in a Super Bowl is assinine. Am I way off base here or what?

Any Super Bowl predictions, guys?
Actually, I was on the couch and he was on the floor right next to me...but other than that, pretty accurate. I'm going to guess that Prince (I can't make the symbol on a keyboard) was the highlight of the night for WH.

Maybe we could pick a day that it isn't 55 and cloudy. Hopefully it will rain the night before, I wanna see someone try to climb a mud hill.

I'm a little surprised by Head leaving. I had heard rumors of him leaving, and he was recently replaced as the strength and conditioning coach (by a Central alum of all people), but I thought he would be at Simpson for awhile. I guess o-line coach and assistant to the athletic director (or is it assistant athletic director
?) is a step up for him. Wish him all the best, he's a good guy.
WH- Time for JW to put in a good word for you down in I-town. I think you're ready to make the move.

Simpson won the west region in '97. Not sure, but I think that might be the last time for an IIAC school.

DustySJU,
I am sure that your coach will have your team ready as will Coach Mac. I don't think there will be anything easy about Saturday from either side of the ball.
One note to you SJU fans. If you want Hamms you better bring it with you. I don't think that can be bought in Iowa. I am just guessing but I haven't seen a place of business carry the sky brewed water down here forever.
Actually, you can find Hamms at any fully stocked liquor store in Iowa (outside of Pella).
