cobbers making the toms sweat a bit

and with big ten/acc challenge on tonight, i've come up with a genius idea.  WIAC MIAC challenge.  i'll have to flesh it out a bit, and i think WIAC has the edge, but could be fun.

speaking of wisconsin, wow. bo ryan has to be feeling good tonight.

If I'm a Tommie fan, the Tuesday night against River Falls would make me very nervous.

nicely done drake.

good observations as well.   the keys for purple this year will definitely be learning curves for the new faces and then synchronization.

regarding joe scott, it's always been my personal opinion that he can improve his effectiveness when he isn't making shots. He's the type of player that is the engine of an offense and should be able to create all sorts of opportunitiesfor his teamates.  I'd also like to see more diversity, he's physical enough to post up more often.  He has been driving more to create FT opportunity, which I always like to see.

what? no HM (at least) for Ike's Half-Fro?? THAT was one scary 'do! Half braided, half unbraided but not combed out so it looked like he stuck a finger in a socket.  Was a scary as the thought of me in red or VOJ in purple

definitely loved that one.

and maniac, creativity is appreciated when it comes to heckling.  i was at rosemount this summer, and although the faces were freindly, we were on the court to do business.  i'm interested to see how mr. schnettler does, he's got mr keating whispering in his ear as well.  which reminds m how I always love bouncing around and finding miac connections.

and i don't think i will do pickem this year. but could be pursuaded if no one else steps up.

given the literature, here are my couple of pennies.

way back I heard a reference to sea salt cafe, a po'boy catfish would be quite tasty right now.

the maniac talked about a game at the upstairs shoe vs marquette...almost sounded like he was there.

tommies get ranked 4 in pre-season.  my guess is that it was mostly due to residual props to the toms for such a great performance last year.  no doubt the gritty guts of ust will be fron and center this year again.  a little bit of growing pains and idenity forming for the guys, but once the gelling happens, it should be the toughest squad to beat.

looking foward to some great games.

and for those of you who may be at a prep game or two this year, keep your eyes out for a tall guy in stripes as I will blowing my whistle at some varsity school games this year.  feel free to heckel.

anyone goin to any high school games this week...state starts up on wednesday next week...should be good times

i might try to hit up some day games.   i work downtown so anything at the target center over lunch is generally fair game.

any preferene for wheaton or wash u?  i'd lean wash u to take the crowd element out of the picture. but both will be tough

could have been 2 very interesting scenarios just there sitting at +8 at half

- get last shot tommies are up by double digits, or puget sound makes it a two posession game.

but we get treated the most boring which is neither  (although of course I'll take +8 over +5)

With all the recent Tommie-media love, I'm ready to vote for them for president!

As much as I respect JT - the P. Press daily dose article - was loaded with gems

****

The main thing we've tried to do is focus on today. We never try to look ahead. That sounds cliché, but that is important, to keep on today

We tell our guys four things: Play hard, play smart, play together and have fun. If you do those four things, you let the rest take care of itself.

Kids have to know how much you care before they care how much you know.

Toms 96 Aurora 71...so did the Tommies call off the dogs in the second half?  I thought they were going to play name the score.  Impressive start, hopefully they can keep it up.  Happened to catch the Pointers postgame show and it sounded like the game was tighter than the final margin.

The UWSP game did get tight for a bit.  But what I came away with from that game was that Cornell did what they needed to to get themselves back into it, but wouldn't have beaten the pointers.  They certainly made some poor decisions, but I saw a very tough pointer squad out there.

Quote from: Drake Palmer on March 07, 2009, 01:50:29 AM  Recommendation:  If you’re going to the game make sure you shower & put on an extra swipe of deodorant cause it’s going to get hot, hot, hot , hot.  8) ;D

I'd also recommend leaving the kiddies at home for this one folks.  It will be a brawl.  50's or low 60's for a final score.  It so happens that I made plans for with some relatives of mine for saturday night. Among the activities, watching a UFC fight.  I'll check in with the board to see which was the better bout - the cage or the Shoe.

I think I've found out how yorky got a d-1 job, the other refs in the big ten are just awful.  Hightower doesn't have a bias, he's just terrible.  good luck figuring out what a foul might be on a given play.

I think I've found out how AO keeps posting, his other thoughts are just awful. AO  doesn't have a bias, he's just terrible.  good luck figuring out what a clause might be on a given post.

I'd give this more energy, but it doesn't deserve it.
