No livestats for ONU-McMurry at the Wheaton site.

They are under the women's basketball live stat link.

I'm not superstitious or anything... but I do want to know where Jake Carwell's headband is...

Wheaton College Radio has a live video/audio feed located at: wetn.org

Two consecutive completions to Pokorny, a 50 yarder and a 6 yard TD, makes it 14-0 Wheaton.

Wheaton will be hosting a scrimmage tomorrow night (Friday) at 7:00 against Manchester College in King Arena.

This is the second scrimmage for the Thunder, having scrimmaged against Lewis College last week.  Wheaton played very well from reports I have heard.  They won the second half, after keeping it close in the first.

The Wheaton 2007-2008 roster is available on the school's website.

Five new freshman join the Thunder along with sophomore transfer Jacob Carwell.

Also, John Mohan is not listed on the Wheaton roster for this season.

An MCL sprain also makes Norris questionable in the punting game, even if he can return to quarterbacking.  The freshman Matthew Griffiths showed that he can punt pretty well tonight against North Park.  But it still is another question mark for the Thunder heading into the rest of the CCIW season.

I have to point out the blocked punt was in large part due to Matthew Griffiths, as he took at least 1 step too many to get the punt off.  Also if you look at the boxscore, Wheaton only averaged 27 yards a punt.  Not very good and a huge drop off from Norris.

Well said Mugsy. It doesn't matter whose fault it is, if a punt goes 3 yards and the opponent takes over on your 30 yd line you are going to be in trouble.

The first punt was blocked that always hurts a punters average.  If you take out that punt, which it must be pointed out was his first collegiate punt.  He had a 39.5 yard average per punt.  On the second punt of the game he saved the long snapper by snatching a ball off the ground and barely got the punt away.

Also, as far as what Swider said in the Insider.  I think I would know since I did the interview.  And thank you for reaffirming to everyone exactly why Norris did not play this week.  It was an MCL sprain on the final offensive drive of the game against Augustana.

Also, the Thunder have another senior quarterback that could have played in the game, in Ric Radcliffe.  Other than that though, I don't know who else the Thunder have at quarterback.

Listening to Swider on the pregame show:

Sean Norris has a sprained MCL and will NOT play this week and possibly next. The injury bug strikes again. Swider says "we are not a healthy team right now, not even close....3 of our 5 top defensive linemen didn't play last week and won't play tonight"

Kyle Bradley to play and go the whole way tonight.

Hmm... I heard Norris was out because he played in a JV game earlier in the year and had to sit out a varsity game in order to be eligible to play the last game of the year.

If your gonna sit a game, might was well be against North Park.  Obviously I don't know the validity of this as it was merely a rumor floating around amongst the parents in the stands.

You are correct Mugsy, Sean Norris did play in a JV game so that is part of the reason why he did not play tonight.  But Coach Swider did say that he suffered an MCL sprain last week in the last offensive drive against Augustana and he may miss more time than this one game.

That is probably most of the reason why Kyle Bradley played the entire game tonight against North Park, to get him more game experience if he needs to start next week for the Thunder.

An MCL sprain also makes Norris questionable in the punting game, even if he can return to quarterbacking.  The freshman Matthew Griffiths showed that he can punt pretty well tonight against North Park.  But it still is another question mark for the Thunder heading into the rest of the CCIW season.

Overall, a solid and predictable victory by the Thunder over North Park tonight.

By the way, for those of you who can't make it to McCully Stadium on Saturday night, the Wheaton Athletics website will have live stats for the game (kind of like ESPN's Gametracker).  You can access it here:

http://livestats.internetconsult.com/wheaton/football/

You will also be able to watch game live through Windows Media Player on WETN, correct?

Correct, as always WETN will provide video and audio from the game on Windows Media Player and Real Audio Player.  Just go to WETN.org, and click on Watch Live.

Just a note on the new Wheaton scoreboard.  They are attempting to rush it up by this weekend, and from where I am sitting now I can hear them blasting music and checking the PA system on it.  But the propability of them having replay capability by this weekend is very slim.  That will most likely be ready by the Augie game, there is a huge learning curve on this new toy.

If it is not ready by this weekend, they will have to use the old scoreboard (which has kind of already disconnected) but they will not have play clocks so those would be on the field.  Of course Millikin would have to agree to this.

AC/DC Thunderstruck?

It wasn't Thuderstruck (to be completely honest it was Casting Crowns "If We are the Body")... But they did have artificial Thunder noises coming from the scoreboard that made me honestly wonder with no clouds in the sky if there was going to be a thunderstorm.

QuoteAnybody know if Rocky Gingg from Wheaton and Kyle Gingg from Boise State are relatives?  Gingg is a pretty unusual last name and they went to the same high school.

I do know that Rocky had offers to play at Boise State.  So they most likely are brothers.

Wheaton defeats #9 Calvin 49-46 in a great matchup in the CCIW/MIAA Classic.

Wheaton is finally clicking upon getting Elizabeth Fox back in the lineup.  Now we just need Pouns back.
