I have always thought that the D2 and D3 schools do not advertise enough.  They have a good product, but do not put it out there enough.

It could be that they want there schools to stay a certain size, I do not know.

The public only goes by what they see on TV and hear on the radio.

Then again finacially it may not be worth it.

I read a while back that yall were talking about couple guys from the conference getting a shot at the nfl.  the have a site nfldraftscout.com.   It has the guys from the conference and there rank.  the WR from MC is 104 out of 347.  the LB from UMHB is 108 out of 247 at LB.  It has several UMHB players in there.  The LB from HSU is in there also.

The reason UMHB does not match up against Wesley is they have that monster in the middle, Robinson I think, that will mess up a running team when a guy is 2 yards in the backfield every play.

The reason HPU has went down, is UMHB is getting there players they would have got in the past.  They use to get several players from central Texas and Houston area.   The same thing happened to McM.

The reason D1 football is so close now scholarships are limited and thus spreading the competition.  In D3, you can stack the deck.  I mean, who would want to go Brownwood vs. Belton.

If I was coming out of hs I would go to UMHB, you will win.  HSU never dominated games like this in the late 90 or 2000's.  They won but they did not win like this.   These guys are killing people.

It is like McM cannot catch a break since about 2001.  They have been so close so much.  Man, I read about that, it was a tough loss.

Ralph,

Honestly, it must not be that good.  I have not seen them play, I know McM won the game.  McM ever think about moving over to that conference.   I would like to see that.  They are not going to beat UMHB anytime soon, I mean they are not making any progress to win the conference.  They will go from 2-5 wins.    I would like to see them win in that conference, they could compete.

Gray is not a bad guy, a good guy actually.  It is not all his fault, UMHB is on another playing field.

Bill has said this time and time again, they have the prime time location for getting kids.

Truthfully, it is not on the same playing field.

Ralph,
I have seen two McM games and look bad.  It is not running up the score they are just that bad.  Looking back they should have kept Coach Keenum.  Maybe he would have had his son QB for them.

Ralph,
I agree with what you are saying.  What I think is that the teams in the ASC run complicated offenses, that require really good athletes.  HSU, McMurry are two examples.  As more and more teams have come about the athletes have been sepread out.

I have said this before UMHB runs the ball.  Mc is starting to run more of a balanced attack.  When a team runs the ball and can establish the run.  The lineman become better, the DB are better, the LB's are better.  I mean they are fresh.  It is not like UMHB is throwing NFL players out.  They have balanced attack.   Other teams throw the ball 50 times a game.  Quick 3 and out.  INT and next thing you know you are down 21.

There are playmakers all around-- north, south, east, west.

UMHB runs the ball.  Why do other teams in the ASC not run the ball!!!!!

You eat up clock, your defense is fresh.  Yet, all the other teams find that they need to throw 50 times a game.

Ralph,
I went to that game in La college.  McM was the same as they have been for the past few years.

Hpudad,
You are right; the depth makes a big difference.  They keep rotating the players in and many times the 2nd team is as talented as the 1st team.   Then the speacial teams are fresh.

I do think UMHB could play with a Texas State for sure.  It was one of the Wisconsin schools, UW- La Crosse beat a ranked 1-AA South Dakota State team last year.  The finished ranked.

How did Jerheme Urban of the AZ Cardinals get over looked also?  He came from a losing h.s.  That could have been the reason also.   Nate Jackson of Menlo.

Josh , you get in where you fit in.  He will get an education and win a ton and have fun.  You have to ask him why he did what he did.
Nothing wrong with going somewhere you can win and have fun.

Look at the Freeman kid who went to ACU from a&m, he had full ride with the Aggies and went to ACU and ended up with student loans but played and had fun.

I do not see anybody beating UMHB for a while.  I mean why not go and have fun.

It showed the highlights of that game of ESPN, it was like a feed from a local TV station, but showed that RB at the time on there.

It was 1998.  The had ESPN there.  It was Lee Corso, and he said that they were going to stop the nation's longest losing streak against Howard Johnson University.  The HPU beat them.

I heard this, and keep in  mind this is 4th hand information that McM looked slow at the game.  What do you think you were there?

CruAlum90, that is what I am talkin about.  If they want to be the champs, beat the champs.
