Surprise, surprise no one says anything about S. Schafer's offensive performance tonight. He stepped up when Leiser and Westman were having poor shooting nights. Also Ohme continues to play well 10pts 5rebs 3dimes 0Turnovers. Moving him to point guard late last season has really helped him develop his game. He makes plays through dribble drive and breaking down defenses.

I am new to the d3hoops but I am an avid bball fan who knows how the game is supposed to be played. The first thing I have to say is that anyone who thinks that Fogt should be starting for the Johnnies is dead wrong. He had a good performance against a terrible team with no big men. As for why the Schafers didnt have big games, neither one of them got any touches. Craig only took two shots and Scott was sitting with fouls that were ticky-tack calls. It is a joke to think that Fogt should start over either one of them. Against teams in the MIAC who actually have post players Fogt will be exposed as the slow, stonehanded, uncoordinated player that he is. He is capable of giving quality mintues by giving fouls and maybe blocking a few shots, but he is only a role player on this team. Also there is no way that Leiser is the best defender on the team. He is a lazy defender whose teammates constantly have to cover for him. He does have a nice quick release on his shot and he shot the ball well last night.
So you think that the Schafer twins should start for the Johnnies versus Concordia on the 29th based on last nights performance. Craig will get the start but Scott should be on the bench coming off as the first post sub. Fogt played very well last night and I expect him to continue like this the whole year. He won't score 17 a game but he'll give you 8 points and around 10 boards if you give him minutes. He outscored and outrebounded the Schafers COMBINE last night.
Leiser IS the best defender on this team too, he's fast small and has great agility. If you don't think he's the best defender then who is? Brink....maybe but he can't guard a quick point guard. Leiser can play against anyone on the court in the 1,2, or 3 spots.
You seriously think that Leiser can guard anyone at the 1, 2, or 3. There is no way he could hang with Meadowcroft or Derock. You proved yourself wrong when you said he was SMALL. He is quick and agile but, he cannot guard players bigger than him. Brink is a much better defender than him because of his length and athleticism. Also if you want a defender who is fast, small and agile Nick Johnson is a better defender than Leiser also. Leiser is a scorer and a transition player. He helps push the tempo.
