So what's with the rotation of punctuation?  Are we going for a Prince-type silent protest?

As I viewed it her protest was anything but silent, and its not the first time she has let it be known she objects to off-colour humor and objectifying women. And what was the response? Oh, we're sorry but you have to expect that on a sports site dominated by men. Would those same jokes and remarks have been made if we men couldn't hide, faceless, behind this darn internet--if we had to look these women in the eye?
I don't buy that sports and civility don't mix. Ladies on this site or no different than anywhere else--they're ladies. Is it asking too much that the men go at least half way and act more like gentlemen who like sports than neanderthals (and I defintely include myself in that hairy beast category)?

Just a question about a couple of Ohio H.S. players. Fontbonne Univ. has two kids fro Dayton this year. Adam Hiles and Brady Hosemann from Kenton Ridge HS. Anybody know anything about these players. Thanks in advance.

This is not one of the more active pages. A couple posters might venture here after the season starts so don't expect much of a response to your inquiry. Sorry

Hi all,  I am afraid I am the bringer of terrible news.
Many of you know formerd3db (Todd) who frequently posts on this board and is a Hope Alum.
Todd and I are good friends.  He sent me an email today telling me that his Mother passed away yesterday, unexpectedly.  Please keep Todd and his family in your prayers.  He asks everybody to be thinking about him and his family as I am sure it has to be very difficult for them right now.
Times like this make football take a back seat in what matters most in life.

I saw this on the other site and thought the vets on this page would want to know this.  Our condolences former d3db

The only thing I can say with certainty (having not yet seen Northern) is that Mount looks better than they did last year (I'm already cringing at the thought of what the Mount/JCU score might look like).  Mount will be tough to stop.

:D  :D  :D

What would you guys offer a D2 school for a game?

I'd offer a list of names, addresses and phone numbers for D2 schools.
I'd rather see Mount play a 9 game schedule than go the route you suggest.

Only 58 points?  Did the Raiders forget where the gas pedal was against the Berg?
ONU blanks OTT 26-0 in another yawner.

I guess the difference between Mount and ONU is Mount has a gas pedal, or does ONU have a pedal but no gas?
It will be interesting to see who is yawning next week.

Anyone know what an Eph is?

From the Williams College website:
What is an Eph?
Pronounced "Eefs," this title is short for Ephraim Williams, whose will and determination led to the founding of the college. Varsity teams at Williams are referred to as Ephs and on occasion men's teams are called Ephmen and women's teams are called Ephwomen.

Caught the last few minutes of BW's victory on ONN. If Toph or any other JCU fan is around, can they tell me about JCU's center. The guy looks like he has a beach ball under his shirt. :D

The Mount website says the kickoff has been delayed due to lightning and inclement weather. The weather channel has this front extending west 100 miles. There is no rain at this moment but the sky is as black as shoe polish with claps of thunder every few minutes.

The Muskies website has them losing to Wilmington 20-0.

The ONU site says their game with Ott is rescheduled for 2:30 tomorrow.

Looks like Mount's game will be played in rain.

Why don't Mount Union schedule some 1AA football teams to play against? A lot of D3 teams do it & it would give them an opportunity to see how well they measure up on the "Next Level"!

And what purpose would be served? Mount beats a D2 team and the cry of people like yourself would grow louder--move out of D3. Mount is a D3 school and competes with mediocrity in most other D3 sports. The fact that they are very successful in D3 football is no reason for them to try to prove that they are anything but a D3 school.
My suggestion is that some of the other D3 schools work harder to rise to the level of Mount in football, eg Capital, UWW and ONU.

reality check, well I don't see a problem if ONU plays next Tuesday or Wednesday.  That would still give them three or four days to get ready for Mount Union. ;)

Heck, they beat Mount last year---they shouldn't have to practice at all :D

Sadly, the Beacon Journal reports this moning that Mount Union's opponents have even one more thing to fear playing the Raiders: Staph Infections.

So who is going to start the rumor about mumps and mono the weeks prior to Cap and Onu's games?? :D

Based on this assumption Jorris is my #1 QB.  As someone said...football is a team game...but I think it's more than that...it's a system and which players can excel at the highest level within that system will be the most successful and until someone builds a better system... Mount will continue to produce outstanding players and results.

+ karma for you. I could have sat at this computer for a week and not have summed up my thoughts any better than you did. Thank you.

Will they cafeteria at Mount be open before the game Saturday as it is before day games?

There is a community cookout before that evening game. Don't know the details but you might prefer that to the cafeteria.

D3poster:

Why in the world would the Poo Bears be looking ahead to their return trip to Alliance? Are you suggesting you expect a repeat performance?
