It may take a few years, but IMO, Mount Union will begin a gradual decline when Kehres leaves...no matter who takes over...they will be strong and stay in contention, but I do not think they will be as dominant when LK hangs em up...

I agree LK is one of the best and to replace him cant be done but he has taken the program so far that a winning season (winning the conf and losing in the playoffs) is not acceptable and the kids that go there understand this but we will have to wait and see.  But untill then keep the National titles coming. ;D

As for the 5 years and 5 teams I had a medical redshirt due to a broken leg as a junior, so I consider 5 years and 5 teams.  3 National Titles and 2 losses in that time, and they were some great teams.

depends what side of the ball is does Ditka play?

if on O Mount-O 200
           Mount-D 0

if on D Mount-D 49
2 qb sacks forced fumbles tds, 3 blocked punts returned for tds, and 2 ints for tds and they pulled Ditka after the first 10 plays.

Well I always read this board espically around this time of year but I never post because I get a kick out of others outside the OAC thinking they are better and they will be the ones to knock Mount off.   :D Lets face it Mount is the only team that can knock Mount off.  They have the BEST team to possibally ever come out of that school.  As a former player thats hard to admit being I played on 5 great teams but this team is dominating everyone in all the stat sheets.  Mount can beat who ever, when ever, by as many as they wish week in and week out. (DIII)  If they wanted to beat every team by 50 LK would call the game that way.  Mount has been so great on the ground throughout the years that a 21pt lead is almost like being ahead 50-0.  Since their D has given up a grand total of 49pts all year a game within 21 (which I dont think is close some do) if Mount scores 4 times its over.  Since teams have had trouble from keeping Mount out of the endzone 7 times a game it looks like Mount wins the Stagg by 20 or more.  The talk about Fisher Rbs running for a 100 or more is almost comical.  The Mount D has developed a "swagger" like the U of old.  When a team scores they take it as an insult and I know allowing a TEAM to run for a 100 would cause them to lose sleep.  So to all you Fisher fans good job making it this far see you in the opener next year.  Mount is and will be the most  DOMINANT program that we ever see and will stay that way untill they decide otherwise.

On the track Mount may not have the 4.5 40 guys, but they play at a higher speed.  I'll take speed and agility over size.

Your right on the track comment they might not be 4.5, more like 4.4 to 4.3, I played at Mount for 5yrs and in those 5 years the speed was tremendous, I had never seen so many sub 4.4 40yd dashes on a football team.  The weight and conditioning programs along with the speed programs grew each year.  With that being said, I have been out of school for 3yrs now and I am pretty sure watching them (Mount) that it keeps getting better. Mount does not take the biggest, fastest player when they bring kids in they bring in the best athlete and they know they can make that player the biggest and fastest.  Mount is a "TEAM" UWW will have to play the perfect game to beat LK and the gang, to beat the gang is hard enough, but beating LK is a tremendous feet as well and rarely happens good luck your gonna need.  GO MOUNT # 9 Lets catch Notre Dame

Kirasdad I agree with you that it is hard to beat a team 3 times in one season  but look at what fisher has done to springfield...they would make someone esle but Kmic beat them they would gameplan to stop Kmic and they would have already seen what Kmic could do....

How do you come into a National Semi final with a trip to the Stagg on the line and not game plan to stop a running back that rushed for 200+ in each of the previous 3 playoff games.  Did the coaches not watch film, or just figured that they had to stop the passing game that has been sleeping for a few weeks now.  "you cant stop their run, you can only hope to contain it" Coach Collins.  How would they stop Kimic, no one has and I highly doubt anyone will.  It makes no sense that Fisher didnt know they needed to stop Kimic, they couldnt and would not be able to the next time around.  I would rather play fisher again.

Since we're all rushing - Here's what MUC will have to contend with... Note that Fisher is not one dimensional either, and Robinson's carries are way down from his 2,000 yd season in 2004. MUC will get a nice steady dose of him - We'll need him to have the best game of his career if we're going to move the ball.

RUSHING         GP  Att Gain Loss  Net   Avg  TD Long Avg/G
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mark Robinson 13  244 1521  61 1460   6.0   23   69 112.3
James Reile     13  147  836   33  803   5.5   9   56  61.8

After watching Mounts run defense last week and reading about thier stats all season, it would be tough to say that Robinson will even come close to 100.  Put it this way if I had a RB in fantasy football going against Mounts run D he would be sitting on the bench for the week, I would start somone against Balt or Chicago before Mount

Don't know if many realize, however I do not believe that Moore's outstanding playoff statistics are included into his records as the NCAA later allowed playoff yards to count...
Pat, maybe you could comment on this and perhaps Ric could clarify how  Chuck Moore's numbers may stack up after those yards are allowed.

For my money, I still think Moore is the class of the position...

Morre was the Class of the position, Class of the student, Chuck was well rounded in all areas, a great leader, a great competitor, a class act

I am a new poster but a long time reader of the Post patterns, I am a Mount Grad and a former player, but to the comment about what did Chuck and Dan have after their soph year, we need to remember they split carries for their final 2 years, they did not receive the touches that Nate is.  I was at the game last weekend and a few last year, Nate is a great back runs alot like Chuck but his numbers are prob better because he is getting more touches and Mount is not throwing like they did with Smeck and Adamson were the QBs.
