Cardinals pick up where they leave off...15 runs at RPI.  Tough weather conditions but it appears they will be just fine with bats in their hands.  Cardinals schedule as usual...challenging.  They aren't afraid to get after it out of conference.

MAybe it's time to eliminate the polls.  They never match up with the NCAA selections nor do the region rankings.  It's just a publicity move...Now, I would argue the D3 poll is MUCH more reflective of what is real.

No clue how the NCAA comes up with this stuff.  Great for Oswego!  They can absolutely win that terrible region!!  Cortland basically only has to beat East Conn. to go to dance as well.  Fisher has been to NCAA 6 times in 11 years...only played in NY regional once during that time, 2010.  Them and Rochester get absolutely hosed in a loaded Marietta regional.  Not sure how this is come up with honestly...this makes no sense.  If Oswego can pitch at all, they go to the series.  The 4-6 seeds in the two regions in New York and Hartford...ouch.  Not cool.  How is Misericordia a three seed?  My goodness...this stuff is crazy.

NC Wesleyan
East Conn.
William Paterson
Trinity TX.
Babson
Berry
Oswego
One of the Wisconsin teams...
etc...Bubble time.  And who knows the way the NCAA will slot be geography...They also didn't play a ton of games 24-5.  tight

Their SOS is so high that they should be OK.  BUT...they certainly have had beyond strong cases the past couple of years and didn't get it...(see Alvernia last year..yikes.)  Fisher has scheduled well and was rewarded with the number 2 slot in the region.  It isn't close in regards to other teams in their league.  But winning the conference tournament would put all these concerns to sleep.  Your right on the ease  of schedule but all the teams have these games in their leagues.

SJF Cards...pretty good run for your cards..take a peek at this.  Regardless of the AQ at the end of the year if your cardinals keep it up, they look great for the tournament.  Their SOS is as usual...really high.

Caz...they should be ok but the past couple years the other NY teams have started to catch up a bit.  Especially Oswego of course but there are 4-6 legit NCAA teams in the region and Cortland will be challenged a bit more than usual.  Most likely either a first or second place finish in the YAC...they will need to take care of business a bit more than usual.  30 wins is the norm for the Dragons...and they will have to breath a lot of fire to get there this time around.  The fielding percentage is astoundingly low for them.  .266 batting average but that will go up against the YAC bottom feeders and some of the non conference teams they scheduled.  25-27 wins and on the edge going into the tournament is a good bet for this years team.  But they can still pitch pretty darn well and that keeps them in any game.

I get that Jim, but, you have to get there first.  In cases like Fisher...who if they don't win the league is always in the mix for an at large, you need to win as many midweeks as possible.  And they duck no one with a top schedule year in and year out.  Also, if you get to a regional and lose...you gonna need more guys.  Looking forward to the new format though.  More teams need to get in!! And the NY region is pretty darn good with some teams not ranked that can compete with the ones that are.

I wouldn't worry much about the pitching too much. Remember. Playing all those games in a short time gets guys some time they usually wouldn't see. Their top 8 guys are very good. They have been ultra successful as a team playing 7 of their first 10 games against ranked teams and with a win today improved to 8-3 against a decent rit team. They will be there at the end

Congrats to Swarthmore...certainly the best team in this regional.  They have a shot to do some damage in the WS.  They can pitch and hit.  And if you can hit....

I am sure westfield st is saying the same thing. Odd game. Oswego is hitting again.  Union cruised. Offense is paramount. Can the dragon's find some?

Exactly...BW a very suspect 4 seed.  Swarthmore is sitting in a pretty good spot.  I am looking forward to see how Oswego does.  They can hit!

well said, after looking at the regionals...Cortland was obviously the number 1 overall in the country.  The NY regional is...suspect.  The pitching in the first game today was not good.  I am now taking Cortland in this region.  The competition is not good in comparison.  At least Cortland can pitch.  They may not need to hit. FYI, Oswego can hit the baseball.  That's what they do.  They don't catch it too well lol, but Oswego can hit, one of the better hitting teams in this region on par or close to Fisher and Union.

Yup, and that is the case here in NY.  Cortland has struggled a lot at the plate, Oswego thumped them pretty bad and the kid from Westfield St. has great numbers.  I am pulling for the Dragons but the end of the year and the weak scheduling has me scared.
