There may be some tix available at Elmhurst because I had a message this morning that the other 3 schools were returning some.

Yes I checked and it was just opened in 2006 so it's only 3 yrs old.  I agree that you could draw the casual fans more though.

Thanks for the incite Pat.

BRLHSFAN,

Local politics aside, would you agree that it would be a nice venue for the finals?

I think so, I am not sure how many it holds but it's really nice.  Been a long time since I've been to a concert or anything at ISU, U of I or even Peoria Civic Center, but it basically reminded me of that.  Plenty of room and really I don't think there'd be a bad seat in the house.  Highest row didn't seem to be that far really.  For anyone wanting to know more info about it, here's a link:  http://www.uscellularcoliseum.com/

79Jaybird, I am making the trip again this Friday.  We should be there around 5ish. Good to meet you last Saturday at Wheaton, guess I need to find a portable radio to bring with me so I can listen and keep that ritual going! LOL

Question for Illinois Wesleyan fans. I was in Bloomington over the weekend to watch my nephew compete in the Illinois high school wrestling team state championships. The event was at the US Cellular Coliseum and I was very impressed with the venue (can't be more than 2 or 3 years old) which I didn't even realize existed.

Any chance that the IWU women hosting the Final Four may be a dress rehearsal for a potential men's Final Four hosting bid at the Coliseum? I know D3 has strong ties to Salem, but perhaps they would consider a rotation of some sort (2 years in Salem, 2 in Bloomington and repeat). Since the D3 tourney is so financially driven, it seems like it would make sense to see how attendance would increase/decrease if you put the Final Four in a state that historically would be seen as a basketball state, the backyard of one of the top conferences in the country and within shouting range of perennial powers in the WIAC, St. Thomas, WASHU, etc.

I'm just up the road from the Coliseum and the wrestling tournament was the first time I've been there even though there have been concerts and other events there.  It is nice, but it's been a controversial topic from day one of the planning I think.  I found it funny that we paid $7 to get into the qtr finals & semi's for high school wrestling, but paid less to get into the CCIW Men's champ. game at Wheaton that night.  Not only that but it's even cheaper to go to the game Friday which is the NCAA tourney.  They are still trying to get out of the hole in Bloomington with that place and it doesn't make money at all.

I don't doubt that Elmhurst can win 4 in a row as they won 7 in a row from Jan 14-Feb. 4th.  GO JAYS!!

Planned on being at IWU tonight to watch the local seniors for Elmhurst, but am not gonna make it now due to a virus that hit me Thursday.  Mr. Roberts (can't remember what your sn is here) I had hoped to meet you finally after 4 yrs but will have to make it another time.  Will listen on the net though and even though I'm right up the road from IWU,  GO JAYS!!!!  ;D

Ok, what's your source FCNEWS????  My son lives in St. Louis, but had a final and is sick so didn't make it to the game, even though he really wanted to!  Please tell me where you have your info from.

He was at the game. I am posting this reply on his behalf as he had to leave for Tulsa immediately following the game, which Elmhurst won by 13.

Thank you!  Glad they won, but wish I could've made that trip and my son and I could've gone together!! Oh well, WRSE will be back with the next game I think & hope! Congrats Bluejays!

AndOne- I don't know.  I find it really strange that EC would schedule back-to-back games like that.
As for the players starting or quitting,  I know a lot of information and much of it cannot be disclosed.  To paraphase, there has been a lot of kids quitting or leaving the team.  Some old reasons, some new reasons, but whatever the case is,  there has been a lot of "interior movement within"

BRLHSFAN- I will be calling most of the Bluejays games.  We did mention during the Aurora game that I/color guy would not be able to make the Simpson game (that thing called work got in the way  :-\  )   and directed people to log onto Simpson's website for directions  on how to listen to the game.

Thank you! I missed the MacMurray game and then forgot about the Aurora game since it was a Tuesday.  I have to get back in the swing of listening on Wed & Saturdays and then that was thrown in there! LOL  I will be listening this Saturday for sure.  But don't you hate it when that 4 letter word (work) gets in the way of all the fun?  Thanks for the info and I'll be listening.

80-65 Elmhurst beats Simpson.  Thanks to Simpson's website for the broadcast.  Where's my Elmhurst guys to tell me if wrse is going to cover the games this year or not?

Been away for awhile, but popping in to see if anyone is here that can tell me if the Elmhurst games will be on wrse this year or not?  I just went there and it was music and when I tried the play by play from the Elmhurst website that's not working either?  Does anyone know?  Maybe it's because it's an away game, but they've done them in the past so I'm not sure now.

Congrats to all of the guys who made all conference.

A HUGE CONGRATS TO MY ELMHURST GUYS AND ESPECIALLY ONE OF MY "OTHER SONS" BRENT RUCH!!!

Just so you know my name is not for Brent Ruch, it's for his alma mater because my son went to school with him and graduated there a year ahead of him so it's stands for Blue Ridge and my daughter's high school since we moved.  Just wanted to clarify that so that everyone knows it's not Brent Ruch fan.   ;D  I just have known him sooooooo long that I'm very proud of him and his accomplishments!

Sorry about not replying to you all sooner.  Didn't stop in once the game started.  Was just listening and nothing else.  I was on with no problem.

Congrats to Augustana on a well earned win tonight.  It was a good game and Elmhurst should be proud of how well they have played this season.

Again, sorry about not letting you know that I was not having problems listening and posting any updates for you all.
