Still no Carthage @ East-West boxscore. Since Steve Marovich is as thorough an SID as there is in the biz, my guess is that he was working the Carthage women's game against the U of Chicago up in Kenosha last night while the Carthage men's team was down here in the city at 63rd and Halsted. East-West is pretty much a fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants operation as far as athletics (and sports information) goes, so I wouldn't expect the EWU folks to supply him with much more than whatever the Carthage coaching staff could've gleaned from a quick postgame perusal of the offical scorebook.
Too bad, because in the wake of the Carthage @ Trinity International debacle I'm filled with morbid curiosity to see what the Carthage @ East-West boxscore must've looked like.
As usual, Professor Sager has it right on all counts. I was manning the keyboards last night, as the Lady Reds and the Maroons combined for 45 personal fouls and 45 turnovers. East-West provided no stats, and we apparently did not tape the game. That would normally be a recipe for a disaster, but thanks to student assistant Amanda Djurickovic, we will have a box score sometime later today, hopefully, sometime before Olivet Nazarene tip-off.
Amanda kept stats herself, somehow, and provided me with a beautiful Excel spreadsheet/NCAA box score with the Carthage portion. I'm just waiting for her to compile the East-West part. I think she even did a StatCrew-style play-by-play. I need to find her a job after graduation.
