WOW...7-0 VWU only gets 4 votes in the top 25 poll.... I'm sure that will fire the Marlins up even more this week... Good luck to all ODAC teams this week

You want voters excited about beating up on an OPP% of 13-19 (.406) which includes wins over William Peace and Johnson and Wales (not the same team we have seen in the past). Also included, not-as-good Salisbury and middle of the road NC Wesleyan and Lynchburg?

I looked at VWC VWU. They fell in the same category of a lot of teams... need more information and see more results. With Averett (ODAC killer), Roanoke, CNU, and Mary Wash coming up this month... those questions will have better answers. I just wasn't pulling the trigger on the Marlins right now, nor any other ODAC team for that matter.

Just a quick look at other currently ranked teams and wondering how "excited" pollsters were to vote them in.....No. 3 UW-Whitewater has won against teams with a combined 11-16 record, No. 4 Augustana's four wins are against teams with a combined 7-14 record, No. 5 Hanover has five wins against teams with a combined 9-17 record, No. 16 Skidmore has won against teams with a combined 11-22 record....so the ODAC's top teams aren't that different from the teams being ranked

Should be some room in the Top 25 this week for several ODAC teams....with several games to go tonight with ranked teams, six have lost today...No. 3 Williams, No. 6 Marietta, No. 17 Christopher Newport, No. 22 Bowdoin, No. 23 Emory and No. 25 Wooster.  VWU is now 7-0, Emory & Henry is 5-0 and Randolph-Macon is 5-1....all three should be considered

CNU barely wins CAC championship on its own court...two games by a total of two points...Cappies should hope for NCAA tourney games at home to extend their season...today's championship score, CNU 68, Salisbury 67

Nice showing for ODAC in Regional rankings: VWC No. 3, Lynchburg No. 4, Roanoke No. 7....VWC is 7-1 in last eight games, including last night's impressive run past Hampden-Sydney...Marlins hit 15 triples...Lynchburg will probably slip in rankings after a loss to Randolph and Roanoke was fortunate to get past WLU by a point on the home court....should be an interesting run to the finish!

Top 10 team for CNU men, but Captains don't fill the gym.  Only one crowd over 1,000....too many things going on at CNU?

Very nice win for Virginia Wesleyan today at Emory & Henry!  E&H rallied in the fourth to put the pressure on the Marlins, but VWC did not fold and posted a big conference win! VWC hit 10 triples, including five from senior Kelly Jones...rookie Jayla Harris led VWC with 21 points....Marlins hit big free throws in the final seconds

Great win for VWC today on the road, wiping out the disappointment of the loss a couple days earlier...win was good enough to push VWC into first place alone in the ODAC and rekindle the confidence to continue a strong finish to the regular season...Moore was the man against the Maroons, pumping in 31 points!  Roanoke's days among the top 20 have probably ended with back-to-back losses to Randolph and VWC...the Maroons are 3-3 in their last six games

Outstanding win today for VWC!  The Marlins trailed by as many as 15 points early, but came back strong down the stretch to knock off perennial regional power Emory, 71-68 in OT at the beach. VWC found the leader is has been looking for in senior Nick Doyle who scored a game-high 19 points, including the last five in OT, to pace the Marlins to the win.  Aaron Sturdifen also came through big with five OT points!  It was encouraging to see the comeback effort in a team that has been struggling to get things going consistently.  Hopefully this win will be the springboard to a strong showing in the 2016 portion of the schedule!  Keep it going VWC!

No. 15 for VWC in new poll....better fit until the young Marlins begin to rebound and play defense better! Waiting for a leader to emerge, but it seems to start this way every season for the Fish who always seem to be where they need to be by the end of the season!

Incredible! GCAlum....what in the world prompted you to suggest the "comparison" that you did....WHY did you you select VWC for that comparison? What standard are you basing this on? Do you have inside knowledge of VWC's academic marks? Or are you basing it on some observation? I would suggest that if you would like to see comparisons made between W&L's testing scores and that of other ODAC schools, that you start with your own! You seem to be fine representation of that institution!

POY....Hanson from Roanoke....she has the Maroons winning down the stretch and heading into the tournament with some steam, making them a very dangerous opponent for anyone...unlike Bridgewater which lost YET three games in a row

fairmont.....VWC who yet still finishes ahead of both EMU and Bridgewater in the final standings....VWC who yet still split the regular-season games with R-MC and BC...VWC who yet had the No. 2 seed wrapped up on Friday after EMU's loss to yet another ODAC team...VWC who yet probably went into the game somewhat flat because of EMU's Friday loss...so, some pretty good yets there.

What is with the "probable ODAC player of the year" stuff?  It's nice that the Bridgewater faithful would like to see own of their own receive it, but you are tyring to make it sound like it's a done deal. Nothing good comes from that.

Waterlucy, do you realize how biased your post reads?  It's almost if there's no other player in the conference that can do what Katy can do.  Again, I think she's a good player, but there are other players out there who do a ton of things for their own teams as well, Hanson at Roanoke, Reisback at R-MC, Hunsinger at W&L, and so on.

I think there's still some "Silva" envy going on.  Silva WAS that far separated from other players in the league.  If that happens again soon, we'll all be surprised.  But for now, its RMC, EMU, VWC and Bridgewater all right there together.

Geeze Matt B.,
Calm down, get a grip, realize there are more important things in life.  But, the bottom line is that you totally over-reacted to someone's, an individual's, observation of the game.  We all know  Katy H-L is a good player, that speaks for itself.

So, for you to form a counter-attack of sorts, not only one one player, but an entire team and program, kind of makes you lose your credibility as well, since you are obviously too close to the BC program.

And name a player who has had better stats against VWC than Katy....did you forget a woman named Megan Silva?????  Megan did carry her team the way the poster implied, the poster who got you all fired up.

I don't think VWC is boasting anything. I think they might be excited, don't you?  BC beat them by 16 early in the season and they just turned the tables on the Eagles in the rematch.

And GAVA, did Ricky Bobby say this?

"You ain't won nothing yet."

We'll see who's left standing in a couple weeks, EMU, Bridgewater, VWC, or oh yeah, R-MC
