Just curious... In the Herald and Review, a quote from Millikin Head Coach Marc Smith.. "We have so many players who haven't played at the college level before, and it showed tonight."  When I look at their box scores, all of them are letter winners or have played atleast a year at the college level...  very interesting excuse!! GO BLUEBOYS!!

Joscar Demby has not been playing because he is inelgible.... by one hour.. Very sad situation.. great kid.. definitely something you would think coaches should look into.  They didn't even realize it until after the season had already started...

Even though, we are kind of off the subject now... but about Lori Kerans.... She is an awful AD.  Her sport was the only sport at Millikin over .500!! Kind of ironic.  Shows alot about her leadership and care for the whole athletic department with those kind of results in the entire school.   Also.. that is pretty respectable to be national champions but I have a huge problem with that! Lori loves to take all the credit!! ALL the credit!! But if we look back at that season, luckily for Lori, one of the forwards broke her leg.  Lindsay Ippel had not even played but 5 minutes a game if that.  Wierd!! Then, she was the national tournment player of the year. Lori would have never played her and she was questioning transferring or not playing.  Also, they had all five starters back and got fifth in the league the next year. Didnt even make the conference tournament.  My honest to God belief is that Tim Littrell was fired because of the fear that in the next two years, with his last recruiting class and the recruiting class he was going to have this coming year, a different team at Millikin could have had a better record than the womens team.  She did everything to keep the womens basketball team at the top at Millikin.  This time it meant firing someone who had spent the last 32 years representing Millikin in the best ways that anyone can. Very ironic!!  I also know that Travis had not ruled out Millikin 100% like someone had said in an earlier post.  His choice was between MU and IWu and when Lit was fired, his decision was made!!

Everyone found it very odd... And we still don't know any of the reasoning behind it.

Andone,

Gensler is a great ball player.. I do believe that he will succeed at the Division 1 level.. I believe that Littrell had a lot to do with Gensler being at Millikin. No one plays at Millikin because they like the town.. they play because they like they coach and respect him.  Another huge loss is Vincent Brock.. Coach Littrell and him have been very close since before he left for Iraq.  I would assume that Coach Lit being fired was his main reason for not playing, besides just wanting to be done with college.  Hopefully, in the next week, there will be a few others leaving Millikin!  :) On the comment about Lori Kerans, she does NOT know her ass from a hole in the ground. It is all about her program and seeing her face on the TV or her quotes in the newspaper.  She lies alot to the media just to look good..  Many people will agree that she is a very selfish person.  How many coaches has she fired this year? 6? Wake up Zemke!!! Congrats again to Todd Creal for getting out of that **** hole!! I wish you the best! Maybe eventually, Lori will quit paying off the newspaper and they will be allowed to print a good article about your new job! Go Highlanders!  I agree with mubigbluefan, it is a sad time for MU alums!

First of all, I want to say GO gobigblue.. I don't understand the reasoning behind millikin33 to bash Coach Lit over and over again... If anyone knew your background with the Millikin basketball program, nothing you say would be legitimate...  Tim Littrell and Todd Creal were going to have the best recruiting class since Lit has been head coach but have lost all of those players to better schools including Illinois Wesleyan. (GO TITANS)  If you dont believe me, get a copy of the decatur tribune... I also agree with gobigblue that Coach Lit is an amazing person.. he has put his heart and soul into everyone one of his students and players... and I also believe that most of his players would tell you that (besides millikin33)  Millikin made a huge mistake firing Coach Littrelll because so many people were behind him.. the school not only lost many good players but lost many financial supporters... rumor also has it that the new coach was late for his press conference.. Drew Gensler is a great player and there have been many other good players on the team.. Hopefully Drew will decide to play elsewhere (IWU), Coach Lit will be better off not being in the athletic department at Millikin University.. He will find a much better job to put all of his hard work and commitment into...
