Oneonta is in 7th place......they gotta make the sunyac tourney before they can win it.  Cortland is pretty much in no matter what they do.

2 wins for oswego today....moving them to 4-4 in league play.

Should be an interesting next couple weeks.....with everyone besides SUNYIT with postseason hopes. Hope the rain holds off

Any midseason predictions for which 4 teams will make the conference tourney or all SUNYAC team?

Save it scubasteve  :P

6 hr's in a game.....what kind of pitching were they facing, perhaps a little league team.

I see plattsburgh is playing a legit schedule this spring.....Medaille may just make it all the way to Wisconsin. I see jimmy dynomite isnt fairing too well in his 5th campaign...must be that bad karma taking over .091 ba....not too impressive for father time.

John,

I dont diasgree with you about the Skyline receiving a bid....it was more of me just saying the competition in the skyline was so bad it didnt deserve one. I do feel though the NJAC deserved to get 5 teams in last season....William Patterson won the regular season title and then ran into some tough luck in the toughest league in the country and went 2 and done in the conference tourney. How do they not get in??? It seems from my experience that if your trying to get an at-large bid your better off beating up on the weaker teams instead of playing good teams.

I agree John,

Id rather see the #5 NJAC team get an NCAA bid instead

John,

I couldnt disagree with you more....the switch from wood to aluminum is not that hard.....you go all season hitting with wood then make the switch over just makes it much easier to hit the ball. With wood bats you get jammed more often and the sweet spot is much smaller, with the aluminum the sweet spot is much bigger and the room for error is greater. You dont have to hit the ball right on the sweet spot to get a good piece of the ball with aluminum.  If you been hitting with wood all season then switch to aluminum the adjustment isnt a tough as your making it sound.

programs like cortland and ithaca losing players really means nothing.....each of them are national powers and theyve shown they can reload each and every year

First off the skyline league isnt the only wood bat league.....southern Connecticut (d2) plays in a wood bat league. One pitcher gettin drafting in your league doesnt make a difference one bit.....I wasnt questioning some of the talent in that league.....the freshman lefty centenary has was a quality pitcher.....The overal talent in that league from top to bottom isnt that good....theres players from places some of us have never heard that get drafted that means nothing......if your good your not going to college to play in a wood bat league, your getting drafted out of high school.

Jim Ill agree that the automatic bid thing is a good team, but I believe u wrong about justifying the NJAC getting 5 teams......William Patterson regular season champ not receiving a bid due to a poor conference tournament showing....they were the #1 seed going into the postseason tourney in the best league in the country....they deserve a shot to play for the NCAA's

cycle,

personally I dont support any one team in this conference....I do pull for the underdog though.  Ive asked a number of times who people think are the favorites in the conference, who people think are the preseason all-Sunyac predictions.....you havent provided your insight. You just call me out on for expressing my thoughts. Who are you to tell me I dont know all the facts....you dont know what i know and dont know. Im not an expert, but ive provided more insights and thoughts about the sunyac conference than just about anyone on here. Im being a hypocrite for talking about your comments??....I never came on here calling out people for stating their thoughts, I was only defending myself for your comments expressed toward me.

i think the skyline is one of the most overrated leagues in the country....other than a few decent teams at the top of the league, the rest of the teams are relatively weak. Its unfortunate that a team recieves an automatic bid from this league....whens the last time they had a team win an NCAA tourney game....i cant recall??? Id much rather see 5 NJAC teams go than a skyline team

i noticed cortland had their boxscores posted from over the weekend....noticed basnight penciled in that leadoff spot....I guess the NCAA grants extra years of eligibility now to whoever wants one.....so if anyone is reading this and wants another year to play college baseball just let the NCAA know I guess they dont check into this kind of stuff anymore

i guess my prediction of new paltz in the #4 spot was a little too much.....it is early still but losing 24-9 on opening day....they must have a jv pitching and playing in the field for them. I still wont give up on them yet.....things may turn around....but they got to find a way to win some close ballgames.

Haha stop.....I dont care who stevens beat in the past.....2 and done in the skyline tourney isnt gonna cut it. That league is a joke, stevens has a long way to go if they even want to be mentioned in the same sentence with Ithaca. How hard is it to win the skyline....come on now it doesnt matter what sports they made the DANCE in.....were talking about baseball here, and even though Stevens beat a few decent teams last year....they were 2 and done in the weak skyline. I watched Centenary's ace get burried last year at the regionals against RPI. The Skyline is a mediocre league and thats all im going to say...will leave it at that
