New York Region / Re: Empire 8

As a follower of NJ baseball, NJAC got the right number, just the wrong teams.  Rowan's guys had packed up and gone home for the summer.  They knew they didn't deserve a bid, and had to scramble just to get everyone together again to make the trip to the regionals.

See another Jersey team, Stevens, is joining the league in 2008.  Where do you guys see them fitting in?  They had some quality wins last year and always play a brutal non-conf schedule.

And apparently, Skyline has switched to metal this year for all games...

I don't think you paid attention last year.  The conference as a whole has been playing a much more difficult non-conf. schedule.

Stevens was 14-5 non-conference last year, beating then #2 Cortland, #20 Kean, #25 William Paterson and #35 Western New England.  Three of their five losses came to ranked teams, as well (Salisbury, Eastern CT and TCNJ).  This year they have 8 games against top 25 teams, as well, and they also play a DH against RIT.

However, I guess they agree the Skyline is a weak league overall, as they're heading to the Empire 8 in '08.
