The Oshkosh game was a tail of two halves:

First half Oshkosh controlled the game.  Good shots, great offensive rebounding with easy putbacks, and it looked defensively they understood Superior's offense and took away easy shots.

But in the second half, Superior came out firing on all cylinders. You could see the their comfort and execution on offense.  Hill was very good, they rebounded and shot the ball with confidence.

Marsh picked up two fouls with about 1:30 to go.   I understand that Oshkosh had to foul but why keep Marsh in if he's your best player and you still have a chance to win??  Odd coaching decision in my mind

Congrats to one our very own on their All Tournament Team selection this past weekend.......

http://www.postcrescent.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080219/APC02/80219092/1892

Gotta love the spelling in the article!!!! ;D  (I believe BJ Larue played at UWGB if I'm not mistaken.)

Good Pick up Cubs.  I was going to look for that yesterday and post something, but it slipped my mind.

The tourney was fun, and playing with Jack...I mean Jacob was great.  He was a great pick up not only for our team, but for the tourney I believe.  A lot of people were drawn to him for his obvious reason of being an excellent player, but I don't know if there was anyone affiliated with the tourney that didn't like him.

LaRue did go to UWGB, and I believe (from the games we either played or watched) shot about 85% from "3".  A lot of former WIAC players in the tourney, along with the other private schools in the state.  Some former D-I & D-II players as well, make the tourney a competitive battle.

Here's to DPM's!  I know you'll like that one Dave  ;D

That made the paper ??? ???

PHF,

It's easy to look good when your gaurds are shooting 75+% from 3-land ;)  Thanks for inviting me.  GREAT TIME!!  DPM's ;D

OshDude,

You must read every, last, part of the paper ;D  Congrats to Oshkosh being in 1st, hope they can finish it out.   I plan on being at the UWO-SupTown game on the 23rd.

WOW!!!!!  Sup-WW getting this much attention........... AT SUPERIOR!!!!!!!!!

Couple of things (my two cents)

Great to hear the UWSup fans are getting into basketball (even if the do act like they're coming straight over from a hockey loss).
The fans should've been removed with the garbage cans, that's excessive.
On Hill's T, the ref's never see the first thing, but always the reaction (which makes coaches mad and leads to Coach B's ejection)
The Superior team is young and playing with alot of emotion and that will make the second round of conference play extremely hard.  They need to stay focused on executing plays if they want to end there post-season drought.

We'll see if all this publicity will help draw more fans to the games as the season goes along.

The Gaints were the better team.  I can't stand Eli Manning but he played a very good football game.

The Packers still had a GREAT season and went far beyond were I had hoped before the season.

Old school,

WOW!!!!! Dissapointment is for sure the word of the night for the GC-LU game!!!!!!  I plan on being there tuesday night to, I'll let you know for sure tomorrow.

GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!
"Janet Reno has a better chance of being 'Playmate of the Year' then the Gaints do of winning this game"

"There's a better chance of Peyton Manning turning DOWN a commercail then the Gaints do of winning"

lol, some funny stuff from the local ESPN Radio!!!!

The Tillemas' are a great basketball family, his brother plays at UWGB and I've been able to watch them play AAU ball at Stout over the years.  Very smart, fundamental player and would be a huge pick up for UWO.

Cody,

Couldn't agree more!!!!!!!!  And forget it when the girls game would go to overtime!!  The only place where there was no affect was UWSP, Obviously with the seperate gym's.

Sometimes when you get out of the December WIAC games, it's hard get up for the "cupcake" teams.  I don't mean any disrespect to The Johnies but players are VERY well informed on where there team or the WIAC rank in naitonal perception.

I will say this, the top of the MIAC is very good.

Great win for Point over Augie!!!!!! Great!!!

I bet Superior/Stout games are going to be fun this year.

.....

I know we are only 3 conference games in, but don't expect Oshkosh to fizzle. They are too balanced on offense to go on a slump.

Superior/Stout games could be the battle for 9th and if Stout doesn't get it together, they will lose.  Stout should change it's starters to only guys the will play team ball, let some of the other guys sit, watch, and learn WIAC basketball.

Downtown,
Your Oshkosh team reminds me of the team I was on my Junior year.  All 5 guys on the floor are different scoring threats, 3-ball, penatration, and inside play.  Each guy brings something to the table and understands his role, it's really fun to watch.

Went to the Osh/Stout game today (great to see Old School and Stoutguy again along with many others)

Stout came out early with some good half-court defense and ran out to an early lead.  After that Oshkosh exposed Stout's weaknesses and methodically broke them down.

DSA is a VERY mobile bigman.  Good mid-range jumper and a sound ball-handler.  Not near the defensive presence that Gibson was but twice the offensive player.

The other Oshkosh players work very well together and play very good team ball, I was impressed with how well they played and TVD deserves alot of credit.

On Stout's side, Jerrel Enerson-Mathews had 19pts and worked hard to get his shots.  He also ran the point position for the first time to try and get a sluggish offense moving.

Stout has an "open gym" feel offensively, 1on1 with poor shot selection, and low intensity on defense.  I do believe there is good talent on this team but it's up to them if and when they decide to get it together and play as a team.

Gibson was one of my favorites in the WIAC, but he does need to learn how to give an interview!! :D

I'm glad he found a place to play.  He's in a pretty good situation but the money probably isn't that good right now.  If he can get up to the 10pts/10rbs average he'll have a much higher chance next year of moving onto Germany or Spain.

Both John and I LOVED Germany and I'm sure Gibson would to, the beer there is GREAT!! ;D
Any word on Big Joe after Packer Camp??

What a crazy opening night for the conference, WW beats Point (Point 0-1 in the WIAC, I know it's the first game but when was the last time Point was under .500 in conference??)

SupTown didn't get crushed by PVille, are they going to be a much more competitive team this year??

Oshkosh over RF, Old School was right in the fact that I didn't give enough credit to Titans returners

And last but not least, why oh why, EC over Stout for the first time in 8 meetings.  I believe Eddie will "right the ship". But congrats to EC.........finally ;)
