King's 19-8 (11-3 conference)
Pool A qualifier after winning the MAC freedom conference for second straight year

key wins deslaes x2, manhattenville x2,
key losses widener, baptist bible, york(pa), desales, manhattenvile

won lycoming tip-off to start year then stayed around .500 at 7-5 going into conference play, went 3-3 to begin conference play and hasn't lost since currently on a 9 game winning streak

10-3 at home this year (6 game winning streak at home) all 3 losses came during winter break to rival wilkes, york(pa) and lebanon valley

senior led team(8 seniors) 2 freshmen start, seniors have won 3 of 4 conference titles, went to elite 8 in 05 as freshmen, lost 1st round vs widener last year as juniors
senior John Soboleski- easily the most dominant player in the conference over the last half of the season wining player of the week the last four week, MVP of conference tournament averaging 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in two tournament games. for the season averages 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds, but over the last six games has tallied an average of 20.2 points, 11.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 blocks per-game
senior Jamie Cousart, a 6-4 point-guard, earned his third straight berth on the All-Freedom squad, including his second consecutive first-team choice. In 26 games this season, Cousart has averaged 15.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, while shooting 51.0 (134-263) percent from the field and 77.0 (114-148) percent from the foul line while standing second in the Freedom Conference with a 1.96 assist-to-turnover ratio.

those would be the 2 biggest threats along with senior center vince scalzo but every starter is a pretty solid player and kings has good talent off the bench especially with seniors Kofi Dwebeng, Jim Welsh, and Ryan Nenstiel
2 freshmen are pretty solid and get quality playing time, but i haven't seen enough of them to give full analysis

first off i want to say desales played a really good game yesterday in the losing effort, i think they deserve an pool c bid to the tourny and i hope they get one. hopefully we have 2 teams to represent the freedom conference and 3 total to represent the MAC

Also what is the possibility of kings hosting on thursday? i was looking at the other teams in the region that are in or possibilities to get in and to me it looks really good for them to host a game, while they might not have the best record, they have what looks like the best gym to host a NCAA game with a 3200 people being able to fit in Scandlon

My guess on who we will be playing is Widener and I dont believe their gym is big enough to host(1500 according to their profile on d3hoops), then there are other teams within short driving distance such as baptist bible(1500), immaculata(?), desales(1000)
Scranton comes to closest at 2800 if they get in but even if they do we have pretty similar records and the NCAA can make more money with 400 more capacity, i dont know if im missing anyone else

Another thing is that we are on spring break this week and the NCAA might take that into consideration and figure that a lot of students wont come but we are a pretty big commuter school and a lot of students live in the area or close enough to come back for a tournament game.

I know the NCAA can probably ship off to play an NJAC school or even ursinus(3500, but i dont see them having a thursday game, 25-2 record) but I would think they would save a lot more money keeping us close to where you have 4 or 5 schools within a hour and a half of each other

i want to be the first to give madd props to FDU for coming out and playing a good game tonight, i personally think we never really got going and didn't hit shots but that doesnt take anything away from what they did tonight, i'm about to head back to the gym to watch the guys game but i want to congratulate fdu on win tonight over kings

congrats to Leigh Ann Burke of DeSales for being named a Jostens finalist today and also being named the MVP of the freedom conference, its good to see the MAC represented, seeing her play here at kings she really is a great player

while yes it would be nice beating the 1 seed on their own court in the championship game, its would also be nice not traveling and hosting the championship game, im just hoping that we actually have a good student section for the playoffs, we've been severely lacking this year compared to other years, lately we've been getting students to come to the games which i think will happen on wednesday but there really hasn't been any cheering, i would say our best student section this year of games i saw which were pretty much most home games was saturday's game vs del val when our soccer team showed up to support our women's team, too bad they left before the men's game

no because i posted on the board before just not on this topic

its nothing against either team, i just dont want to travel, i know any team could win, its possible that fdu upsets us on wednesday, in both mens and womens i think any team has a chance to win and earn the auto bid, and im not new, ive been here for a while just never posted

well kings blew out del val today to clinch the 2 seed for the playoffs, i thought del val played pretty good, kings is just peaking at the right time, similar to what the mens team is doing, i am rooting for del val to upset desales on wednesday so we can have a rematch next saturday at kings for the conference finals

i may be a little biased but after today's blowout victory over del val i think kings is easily the favorite to win the conference again.

once again there will be a double header on Wednesday at Scandlon gym as both mens and womens team look to advance to the finals
and personally as a student i rather have the 2 seed because it would be that much sweeter going to desales next saturday and beating them on their home court with both the guys and womens teams, it would also make seeing both games easier as it would be in one place instead of one at kings and one at desales unless one of us gets upset in the semis but i dont see us losing on wednesday after today's blowout wins by both teams on senior day
