I suppose using the word "terrible" is an unfair exaggeration. Certainly, Augie is not a pretty team to watch, but that wasn't really the point I intended to make.

While watching the game last night, I felt that a good team should have beat NP by 20+ points.  I have no problem giving credit where it's due -- and Augie is certainly an imposing defensive team. However NP didn't go themselves any favors. As hard as they worked to get back in the game, there were numerous short jumpers, layups, and free throws that NP clanged all game along.  They seemed to lose composure very easily, especially the project they have playing center this year. It'll be interesting to see how Augie fares when they match up against a more offensively proficient squad. Maybe they make everyone look bad?  ???

CCIW play in full swing...gotta love it.  Sure looks to me like Augustana is the best team in the league by a decent margin.  I hope I'm wrong.

I was at this game last night and both teams looked terrible. If Augie is the league's best team, they better improve significantly or this is a down year for the CCIW!

So, I know I'm jumping the gun a little, but does NP have a decent shot of hosting a game in the tourney?

Greg, are you expecting a big crowd tomorrow night? I assume it won't be on the level of the Wheaton game, but I hope the 'Parkers are taking this rare opportunity to see their team in contention!

If North Park beats Carthage and Millikin this week, do they start getting some Top 25 votes? Humor me. Maybe I'm just giddy about North Park fielding a decent team for the first time since I graduated 5 years ago.

I went to the North Park at North Central tonight. The game was back and forth through most of the first half, with NCC leading by 6 at the half. North Park got on a roll at the beginning of the second half with PG #15 hitting a number of 3's to give NPU a lead of 12-14 points. He looked really good tonight. North Central went to a full count pressure and knocked the lead down to about 5 with 6 minutes left, but couldn't get much closer. NPU hit free throws fairly well at the end to clinch the victory. Great win for the Vikings tonight!

You two are just begging the question, though: Why doesn't Wheaton get more support for its other games? Where were all of these people during the Pfund (which had a pretty good field of teams this year), or for so many CCIW games in recent years in which the Wheaton turnout has not been what it should be? Why haven't those games had "so much more meaning for Wheaton fans"? Why can all the Wheaton fans who normally travel to road games fit into two SUVs, with seats left over?

Perhaps Wheaton has a lot of fans that live in Chicago? For city dwellers, Evanston is heck of a lot easier to get to than Wheaton is!
