I would love to know how Tom Port makes this list over Tim Vandervaart. Granted he has an injury for most of the year, but Vandervaart is clearly the better player, especially in crunch time. When Wooster needed a basket, option #1 was Vandervaart, #2 Cooper, and #3 Port. Maybe its because Vandervaart is undersized for his position and Port would be a better prospect overseas? Any thoughts on this?

OS... ah, but what a way to die.  ;D 8) :-* :D

Seriously though, I was down in Baja working with some indigenous communities on their water systems the other day, and totally had Horchata De Arroz with breakfast on my way out to their village from Ensenada. Everyone was like, "stick to the bottled stuff" ...even the Mexican guys! :D And I was like... no way, I love this stuff! I figure that after living in Africa for six months (in the beginning I totally sanitized everything I drank, but quickly started slipping due to the fact that it took a ridiculous amount of time and made me look like a silly American)... I have an iron stomach.... or at least I'm used to that particular type of suffering. :D I didn't get sick though. :P

Either way, I'd rather go hungry or get the runs anyday than than eat Taco Bell's tasteless Grade Z products... chihuahua and all. :P

Diehardfan, don't believe Old Schools icon, I'm on your 3v3 team ;D ;D (I'd be the tree standing the the left of mini-me, lol)
Thanks for the belated reassurance. When OS first put that picture up, I was like.... Heeeeey!  ??? >:( :'( :P

That's why I love DIII... the guys don't sign contracts but they still hold up to their commitments. :D Is Sout Survivor still on our team too? Or was I still working on recruiting him? I know for sure that Point Special kept turning me down.  :-[ :-X :D Isn't OS required to actually play on his team? Enquiring minds want to know...

Disclaimer: Normally I'd try to put a basketball kicker on a post this long about nothing related to d3 hoops, but it's the off season, so what the hey.... :D

I cant comment on the Williams teams 0f '03 or '04, as I never saw them play, but I think there is a tendancy to think that this year's amherst team was not as good as the team from '04 because there were not as many flashy scorers like zieja or bedford or fitzsimmons

Neither Zieja nor Fitzimmons were on the '04 team, they had both graduated the year before. The comparison is being made to the team that featured Donovan, Harper, and Tim Jones. I believe Zieja was actually one of the coaches of the '04 team.

Come on now, Holy Cross has given some very big name schools good runs in the tournament. They were actually came pretty close to pulling off an upset a couple of years ago as a 16 seed. Holy Cross only lost by 10 in the first round this year to the Salukis. By comparison, Virginia Tech from the mighty ACC lost by 15.

- What you said is exactly the type of attitude Simmons is talking about. He knows that Holy Cross will never have what it takes to be a national champion in D1, and he thinks its pathetic to get excited about a double-digit loss to a 4 seed. Since HC will never attract top level recruits, he thinks they should just join a conference that puts academics first (NESCAC).

Walzy- My deepest apologies. Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man + Adam Sandler in The Waterboy... just without the mental incapacities.

In following the precedent set by Friar T, I think its time to make a few analogies concerning the posters of this board:

Hoops Fan- Danny Tanner. Really tries to be the moral guide of all the boards. All we need is that sappy music to start playing at the last sentence of every one of his posts.

Pat Coleman- Don Johnson. Aside from the uncanny physical similarities, D3Hoops is your Nash Bridges.

diehardfan- Tinky Winky. Constantly smiling, laughing at yourself, god love you!!! ;D.

Historian- Ben Stein.

JeffRookie- Britney Speas circa 2006-2007 + Anna Nicole Smith circa 2004 + Skip Bayless.
