HIGHLANDER- Isnt a homecoming game supposed to be against a team you know you can beat? Actually in all honesty, both games have been really well. We came in in 2005, second in the conference, and you guys gave us a game. That game has turned out to be pretty close all three years. I say they keep it going.
Congrats to NCWC, i had you guys chosen to win. Looking at the stats and seeing how they compared to you guys, i knew they owuld be the 1 seed eliminated. Great job guys, keep it rolling.

To the Monarchs, congrats on the win saturday. I had the opportunity to stand on the sidelines to watch the game saturday. I enjoyed every minute of it. I hope one day i can be there to help coach the methodist team.
Narch- I agree with what you said about the game. The team is so young, they will be something to reckon with next year. The interior guys for the O-Line are nasty players. Kesslar will be another all-conference center for the monarchs. He is smart and plays with passion for the game. A leader for a group of youg guys. The two guards are nice as well, and the left tackle reminds me alot of how another fromer tackle played for the monarchs, DELAPP. He is solid and has some good feet and size. This team is going to be nice. I talked with Parks after the game, the kid is very meek and all about the team. He cares about what the team thinks and is going to be nice for them next year. Rocket came along very strong with his junior year, and it seems as though Parks looks like Roncketti alot with how he has played this year. Good things to come for the monarchs.
GOOD LUCK NCWC. They held me up to my prediction, they won the title outright. I thought they would. Good luck in the postseason. It seems we cannot get past the second round, so lets get it done boys.

Allsky7- Yeah man, i wish i could make it up there. I coach high school football now, so i do not get to go any away games, hell barely any home games! However i remember when we played there in 2005, it was a wild and crazy place man. The fans were nice. However, i know it is not funny, but in a way it was.
After that game, i was in the parking lot with some friends from our team. Some MC fans walked by and shook their heads. The one guy turned and said nice game 51. I looked, smiled nodded, said thanks buddy, your guys played hard as well, good job. He said that sucks so bad, we have the lead, and now we dont at the end of the ball game. He said i was almost drunk when that happened to, and now its like i drank for no reason. I kind of laughed, and went on. You guys are serious about football up there.
I also heard that high school ball up there is pretty good too. Maryville high school has been pretty darn good over the past couple of years. Good luck, but i hope Methodist can pull one out.

Narch- Thanks man, i will be there on the 10th. I am going to coe down and see the new facilities they have built on campus. I heard the science building was something special to look at. My question is when are they going to redo the stadium and upgrade it. They have talked about it even when we were in school there. They need to get a visitors section. The place could look just as good as pomoco if someone they would design it right. Beautiful stadium for a nice campus.
Allsky7- No i am not talking about maryville. I didnt go there at all, and i know its easy to get confused with my screen name. But now you know, just for the record.

NARCH- I hope you are right. I will have to agree with you. If the defense plays well, i think the monarchs can pull off the upset. They need this one for a morale booster. One other question. Delapp and I will be down for the SU game on NOV.10, where is this tailgating happening at? I wish they would have had it while we were there for all the fans besides just allowing parents to eat. The deans were so worried with things happening they were scared to let anyone get a little crazy. Its good for the future of the program. I will be bringing down 2 players of mine with me from my football team. 6'7 305 lb Left tackle, and 6'1 195 lb DB. Both kids are very good athletes and want to play somewhere close to home. So i told them to come down and see the campus and a game and meet coach sypult. Should be good!

ALLSKY7- I thought about driving up for the game. I am not 100% sure right now, i have to wait and see what time our game is going to be over on fridaynight. If we handle business then i will be able to make it. I may drive to my parents house in asheville, then go to the game and be there around 9 or so. I will let you know around thursday and we can talk and you can send me a personal message of where you will be come saturday. Shoulod be a good game for both teams, hopefully methodist can get back on track and finish the season on a high note. GO MONARCHS~!!!!!!!

Narch- Great posts man. I am glad to see the boys down there are still playing trying to salvage whats left of the season. The game with CNU has turned into a great rivalry. I agree with what you said though, they are probably the best 1 win team in the nation. I have not had the pleasure of going to a game yet, though i will be down on nov. 10 to watch the game there against SU. I have looked at their stats, they are performing, just not getting the W. They will be ok in the next couple of years. Look at Rocket, his Junior year was his breakout year. Might be the same tradition to continue. Parks will know the offense, and can perfect it. The line will be solid, and very experienced. Good things are coming to Methodist.

WOW, theres alot of animosity on here now. I think it is all stemming from there only going to be one conference champion this year. I dont see CNU messing up this year anymore and losing that one game that ties them with anyone. I think it will be NCWC VS. CNU for the battle of conference champion.
Methodist played a tight game vs Ferrum on saturday, although i wish the turnout was different, it was still a good game. Methodist is still young, and learning as the year goes. That offensive line looks like it is gelling together really close which will cause problems in the future for many teams.
Congrats to SU, wow where did that come from. Havent scored that many points all season, and then break out with that many, great job. I think that shows us just how much trouble GC has defending the run. Great job!!

Now you guys are getting into my stomping grounds. Tuscola and Pisgah is by far the biggest rivalry in High school. It always has been. They shut the town of waynesville down and traffic is backed up off of I-40 to even get to canton. Neither one of these teams now run the Wing-T more of a spread type.
I however, coach a team at South Meck High School in Charlotte NC and it works great here, i mean we have rushed for 2000 yards in 6 games, so i guess its working. The WING-T is mainly designed for misdirection. However, like i said you have to have a fullback that is a power runner to make it work. It is not a throwing offense either. SU just doesnt have the big fullback type to run this offense. A couple of years ago, the reason they won with this is because they had Frates and Lacey and Mcgee. All of these backs could run this offense well because Frates was the man. Coach Barnes now doesnt have the personel to run this offense type, so it is time to change. But, i dont think that is going to happen any time soon. Looking at their roster, they have some pretty decent wide reciever type of guys, why not throw the ball a little more or run the zone or something. Get out of the old school style.

Thanks NARCH, i have some players who would like to play football next level and they want to see methodist first hand. One is my tackle who is 6'7 315. He doesnt really want to go to a big school he likes the smaller classroom and close to home college. UNC wants him to walk on because they cant offer a scholarship cuz they are full right now. Brown university is also looking at him. So i want to help the monarchs out. Another one is a DB who can flat out play football. I hope to come see the monarchs in action against CNU this year. Delapp and I are hoping to come down. maybe we'll see ya and have some cold ones before the game.

Any thoughts as to whats goin on at AU this year? Are they just that young and no experience or leadership on the field? Looking at their freshman class they brought in, they look to have some big players from all over. One that stands out is a freshman kid from south meck in charlotte where im at. He went up to play, and first practice, tore his ACL.
My prediction for the conference championship pick will still be between CNU and NCWC i think. If MU can upset NCWC at home this weekend, my outlook will change.
NARCH- Whats your thoughts so far on the game(s) for the monarchs. Has Parks matured during the offseason? From the stats it looks like they got a good freshman reciever to go on the opposite side of doleman and Mularski, does he play as well as it sounds? I agree, our senior year we knew going into the season we wouldnt have a fullback like we had the 2 years before. Dont know if you remember him, but Mike Frees. Big guy that could run the ball well, just ask Averett whom he ran a 75 yard touchdown right up the gut on. We had to conform to what personel we had and throwing the ball was it. However in the midst of that, running zone worked in our favor as we ran for 2,000 and threw for 2,000.
im not knocking SU at all, but i do think the days of their wing-t style offense is through until they get another big time fullback. Looking at their team on the roster, they have some pretty big kids at reciever, maybe they should throw the ball which opens up the run. Force teams to cover your spread and run it underneath. Barnes is a college coach, he should know this, but at the same time, why is he not doing it? SU fans, any thoughts?
