Just wanted to let everyone know that the NEAC has come out with a new website, ( www.neacsports.com ) it looks good. Now only if the teams could look as good as there website.
Buck,
I am alittle surprised with the coaching pick at Keuka, I figured they would have choosen someone who atleast new the area. THe hard part for Keuka is recruiting enough talent to play there and compete against the rest of the New York teams. New York is a tough place to recruit because of the amount of D3 schools. I mean Keuka has to compete with all the rochester schools (Naz, Fisher, RIT, U of R) plus all the state schools. With money being an issue for parents alot of kids will be going to state schools. But maybe this guy is a good X and O kind of guys and can take the low level players and turn them to stars by the time there JR or SR.

Congrats to SUNY IT on there two big wins. Also good to see that the NEAC got 4 of the 10 all region spots. The NEAC might not be great but it is better then most people think

opening weekend perdications:
Nov 15th:
Cobleskill vs Western Conn. St- Cobleskill looks re-loaded but not sure how they will play togather. Conn lost alot and have a young squad so this game could go both ways but i will say Conn by 8.
Cazenovia vs Clarkson. Cazenovia looks to have a young and maybe the biggest team it has ever had, but they will be playing against a good clarkson team. So i say Caz loses by 18.
Wells vs Hartwick- Wells returns its center pieces and if they play they will beat a bad hartwick team by 15.
Abington vs Millersville- Abington will probably lose by 30. I beleive Millersville is a D2 school
Berks vs Alvernia- Berks will lose by 23. Alvernia has been good in the past and NEAC teams dont do well outside of conference.

Hello everyone, I hope your enjoying your summer. Just wondering if you heard any news around the NEAC and the teams for next year.
I heard that SUNY IT got Matt Potter from OCC which is good for them because he is 6'6' and could score and rebound for OCC. SO he could play center for them if they wanted to go more fast pace.
Form What I saw on the syracuse forums for high school basketball, Cazenovia got Matt Perry 6'4' from Massena who averaged 16 points a game. Then i found an article on-line that Caz also got a kid named Bobby Rohrig from Vermont who i guess is 6'5" http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20090218/SPORTS/902180373/-1/RSS10
I wonder what everyone else has got. Hopefully some good talent so this league can grow and be respected

I know he is good, He was a beast at FLCC and alot of big schools wanted to give him a scholarship to play but he couldnt get by the NCAA academic rules. But i know wells let anyone in to get the program going. The kid from TC3 barely had a 2.0 and he got into wells. They let everyone in

I think if askew is back he will be battling Paulino (wells) and Walker (DYC) for player of the year award.
Don't worry about the 6'10 kid, he didn't play alot of mins at Homer High School, so the only thing the kid has going for him is he is tall. I saw him play, no basketball skills, might be good in a few years with alot of work.
Well i live in Utica, so i will be swinging in to watch the Caz game. I will let you know how they do and how they should compare to the rest of the league.
Good Luck NEAC

Well SUNY IT has a chance to win it, The NEAC is probably tougher then they will expect.
PSU-Harrisburg does not have Seth LEwis on there roster which hurts the team since he was the player of the year last year.
Wells finally has there roster up and they have a few good players. The player to watch out for it Juan Paulino. He played two years at Finger lakes. first year he averaged 21 pts, 21 rbds, the second year he averaged 17 pts, 20 rbds. He got him self in a little trouble so he dissappered for two years. And they dont have a D1 player from Chicago, the only kid from there playd D2 Juco.
Season starts tomorrow should be a good year:
Perdications:
PSU-Berks vs Rutgers-Camden: Berks wins by 6 (with Askew). If Askew isn't back then i think Rutgers will pull out the win.
Wells vs Alfred- Wells will start there program off with a win, probably by 15
D'Youville vs Lancaster Bible- Easy win for DYC, should be up by 20 at half and wont look back.
SUNY Cobleskill vs SUNY Oneonta- Lost to many players, Oneonta wins by 18-20
Cazenovia vs Utica- Utica returns alot, Utica wins by 10
Sunday:
Wells vs PSU-Harrisburg- Wells wins another game by 15
Tuesday
SUNY IT vs Paul Smith- Starts the year with the NEAC playing a light weight, should be easy win for IT
Keuka vs SUNY Canton- Going to be a tough game for Keuka, so thats why i think Canton will win by 8-10

I am not sure if I beleive that, If the kid was good enough to go to the U. Iowa he would have got a ton of scholarship offers from small D 1 and D 2 schools. And even if he went D 3 why would he go to wells, there are cheaper and alot better D3 schools then wells. and its a first year program. No way

Well it should be an interesting year for DYC, i think they will be good. I mean Caz won the league with no true center. THis year they will have to do it again with out a real strong post game. They return 2 of there three big men. Tom Wilk there freshman transfered out because he lost his scholarship and couldn't afford caz. They did get a freshman from a small school in central NY who is 6'5'. Kid has a good offensive game and can run the florr but might not be ready for the college physical game. Of course the league is pretty weak at the center position so i think if you get an ok center with some good guards you should be able to run through the league tournment.
