Next year Whitworth can't rely on their defense, they are going to have to outscore opponents with the entire offense back except for one olineman. They did however pick up an oline transfer from WSU who was a backup as an underclassman about 6'6" 275. Should rely on the zone attack with both looks from Anderson and Nelson. I'm hoping they choose one quarterback although both gave different looks. I'm hoping the young defensive guys will mature over the years and we'll have to rely on the defense in the next year or two although having high firepower on both sides of the ball would be ideal. Haven't posted in awhile...figured things are heating up....

Definite difference was the 3rd down conversions in the game. Similar stats for both teams otherwise. I guess you did walk all over our underclassmen who start on defense.

Blue,
You really need to pull your head out. Call it for what it is an anticipated great game between the NWC and SCIAC champ. Kind of hard to call two teams terrible after week one. Couldn't I say the same thing about Linfield, Plu, or any team in America that lost in week one. Don't be so upset because you have a bye this week.

Nah RFB.....Redlands will not score 35 on Saturday......I'm thinking 28-21 Whitworth. Offense will convert their stats into more points this week with the defense being lights out again. The Runner will be bleeding.........The only thing you are correct about is that it will be a great game.

Looked like a typical 1st game for two teams....Whitworth did have 400 yards of offense, but didn't convert on a few 4th downs that were kind of in no man's land. 6 sacks by the defense that looked very fast. 2 picks by Kemp led directly to short scores for ULV. Overall the stats show the game wasn't close. I predict a 28-21 win next week over Redlands.

I did some checking and it looks like Jesse Clark played last year at Northwestern St. in Louisiana and registered 60 some odd tackles at the safety position and played in 10 games.
I'm glad to be hearing from the Whitworth boys again.....509 glad to hear from you guy!!

I'm stoked for the upcoming trifecta I'll be attending over Halloween weekend.
HS game Friday Oct. 31st Enumclaw(alma mater) at White River
Nov. 1st Whitworth at PLU
Nov. 2nd Eagles at Seahawks
Should be a hops and barley fueled weekend!!!!!

Buc,
Nice to see another Pirate on the board....should be an interesting one for the Bucs. Offense should score more points, but unfortunately the defense may take a few lumps because of sheer inexperience. Could be like the 2004 or 2005 teams. offense picks up the slack this year because the defense has been lights out the last two.

Great 4th of July....week of vacation is always nice....thought I'd be about time to post and check what is going on with the fellow NWC fans. I'd imagine team previews will be out by the end of this month. Looking forward to watching some great NWC games this year.

Let's break up the monotony talking about the same team.... it's early on the recruiting highway with NLI just a few days ago, but any NWC recruits on the horn? I would like to hear more analysis about the NWC teams. Who's coming back, deep analysis.....I'd like to hear from some other posters...

Can't see Redlands ever getting a nod in strength of schedule with playing the likes of the mighty Haskell Indians.
2-10 vs. NWC since 1999....
Your two wins vs. Whitworth were against QB's making their first collegiate starts...Scott Biglin in 2000, who went on to be a 2X NWC QB and Aztec Bowl QB.. and Kory Kemp, for whom the jury is still out on...
2-3 vs. Whitworth......
RFB..we should make a side bet for this years game. I could go for a nice sixer of So Cali micro's....I would gladly reciprocate.

Good call Wildcat 11,
We need Lewis and Clark to get off the ground and get running or start another Oregon school with a program....
