Andy Collins makes his Arena Football League debut tonight for the LA Avengers against the New Orleans VooDoo at Staples Center.
Collins was waived this week, but was expected to be signed to the practice squad. Don't think he will play tonight. Good luck to him and go SabreCats.

it's too bad Greib signed on for another year. He might have to wait a year to get PT.

We had an offspring at Santa Clara, and I know they used to have football a long time ago, but when she went there they had only that Communist sport in the fall ... The homecoming soccer game? I don't remember if they even had homecoming.
That must be quite an exciting reunion when former Santa Clara soccer players reminisce about their playing days:
Player 1: "Great to see you! We haven't spoken since that 0-0 tie against Pepperdine!"
Player 2: "I know, wasn't that a great game? Almost as good as the 0-0 tie against Gonzaga."
Player 1: "Nothing will top our winning streak when we won 1-0 against USD, 1-0 against Portland, and 1-0 against St. Mary's. Too bad we had to go and ruin it with that 1-1 tie against USF."
Player 2: "Well, we still talk about the time we ran up the score on Loyola and monkey-stomped them 2-0."
Player 1: "LMU is still upset about that. They were so mad about that game that when they played San Jose State they went all out, tied 0-0 in regulation, and then made all 5 of their penalty kicks in the shoot out."
Player 2: "Wow, I wish I could have been there to see that, but I already had tickets to the World Championships of Watching Paint Dry. Semi-Gloss beat the brains out of Satin."
Player 1: "Lucky you. Well, we better get over for the start of the homecoming game. We wouldn't want to miss any of the 90 minutes of nothing at all happening."

November 07, 2007, 11:26:18 PMLnfield has gotten the benefit of the doubt all year in the rankings, because you all have a first class program. The streak, stable coaching, easy to recruit in Ore., Wash., NOR CAL, you just did not have as good a team as in the past. There will be plenty of teams that go on, that linfield could beat, but it doesn't work that way. Winning your league is the only gaurantee that you make the show.

First Bracket projection is up - #1 seed for UW-Whitewater, and a game vs Cal Lutheran. The Danny Jones reunion bowl.
How 'bout that?
that would be nice to see as many of the CLU players talked to DJ weekly

Heck, both defenses deserve credit.
Again, don't know if the better team won but the score says so.
Let me see, you have lost three games and the Rats have lost one. The record speaks for itself.
No offense PPJ

November 01, 2007, 07:55:40 PMIf CLU wins out against Pomona Pitzer 2-5 and Redlands 6-1 they are in.
They are also in if they beat PP and lose to Redlands, if OXY beats Whittier in their last game.
OXY 5-1
REDLANDS 5-1
CLU 5-1
CLU gets AQ based on the Rose Bowl Rule the team that has not made the playoffs in longest time for CLU that = never

October 31, 2007, 12:43:16 PMRight on, CLU did get consevitive last year against OXY in the second half, and OXY took advantage of that. CLU is not talking smack, they are just looking for the opportunity to play against DJ.
Some players are still pissed, but many others talk to him weekly and wish him well. They were listening to the game last week and know how good WW is.
Every kid in the country would like to play against a former teammate that transfer to another schooll, the playoffs are the only way that will happen in this case

If the ball crosses the goal before the knee touches down, it is a touchdown. If the knee touches before the ball crosses, the ball is down at the spot the knee touches. [/quote]
Forward progress would be where the ball was when the knee touches the ground, not where the knee was unless the ball was on the same line. The line to gain can still be made if the ball crosses the imaginary line at the 10 when the knee touches the ground at the 10 1/2. It's the position of the ball when the knee touches

October 24, 2007, 09:20:27 PMI hate to say this, but I think OXY will blast CLU. Last week they were totally out played and out coached. Capman had almost 400 yards in the second half alone. CLU's defense secondary is really bad and the linebackers are too slow to get any depth in pass coverage, so the corners start real deep and give up alot of underneath stuff. Then when they try to tighten up there goes the long ball. OXY has to be licking their chops.

Glad to see clarification on the chop block which is illegal, cutting someone at the knees is legal as long as he is not engaged with another blocker. I am sure that the coaches would have screamed bloody murder if guys were getting chopped block all day long and if they were getting chopped that officiating crew should be suspended for not calling it.
