I just saw a news release on D3football which reported
Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed, limited edition bobblehead commemorating the Mount Union Purple Raiders' 13 Football NCAA Division III national championships. The bobblehead is the first of Mount Union's mascot, MUcaw, and features MUcaw holding a replica national championship trophy and his sword, while 12 additional replica trophies are on the base of the bobblehead. The bobbleheads were produced exclusively for the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum by FOCO, an official licensee and manufacturer of Mount Union merchandise.
We should start a petition to get a Bobblehead of MUC57. He would be most deserving.
$40 Ouch! https://store.bobbleheadhall.com/products/mountunion
Hmmmmm. Wondering if I should wait for a potentially updated version?

Belated thoughts after watching the game...
Personally, I loved the way the offense came out in the 1st. Their first two drives were 2 touchdowns each under 50 seconds and totaling all of 5 plays. They were doing whatever they wanted, especially running the ball, all game. I thought the O line played well. Petro had some massive lanes to run through. I also noticed reviewing the roster that 3 of the 5 OL starters are 300 lbs. It's been a while since they've had that kind of beef up front.
Fulford will certainly need to spread the ball around, but it was also week 1 with 2 new starters at WR. RHIT had no prayer of covering Hill and Fulford obviously has a rapport with him so I was fine with him honing in on his guy early on. Stick with your comfort zone early and then expand. I really liked getting both Petro and Garcia involved in the passing game too. Once upon a time that was used so effectively as a safety valve with Moore and Pugh. Garcia did a nice job running and catching. If he can emerge as a Justin Wray-type second back that'd be a fun wrinkle.
I think the single most important thing from this game was Braxton Plunk. Obviously it's way too early to judge, but that looked like a Mount QB slinging the ball. The one that raised my eyebrow was the 3rd and 8 throw on the sideline to Ruby. 11 yd out and that thing had some smoke on it. He doesn't look like a burner straight line, but he definitely looked athletic moving around and scrambling. The bottom line is after last season there was legit concern about if Fulford went down with an injury. I feel much better about the backup QB today.
Defensively I was curious about the 4-3 thing too. I'm no X's and O's guy so I don't know if the scheme was a true 4-3 or not. The 3rd LB is Fisette who is a DB so I assumed it was still similar to the old 4-2-5 with Fisette being a hybrid? I expected some hiccups especially in the secondary. You have 4 new starters back there including 2 who are brand new to the schemes period (a transfer and a guy flipping over from WR). It was too bad to see Griffin go down early. Hopefully he is okay. The DL as always did fine against the run, but I agree with whoever mentioned the less than stellar pass rush. I was hoping from more there from a veteran group.
Of the new guys I thought Bradley played well at CB, Reed flashed some nice athleticism at WR on his TD and I liked Parker as the 4th(?) RB. And yes, I realize how spoiled Mount fan it is to be talking about the 4th RB in week 1.
I watched the BW game too. They'll definitely be a tougher test than RHIT, but they don't have the horses to make this a close game IMO. I don't like the front loaded schedule, but if it has to be front loaded this is the perfect progression to ramp up for JCU. Plus maybe it's good to catch JCU earlier on with a new QB. Plenty to work on for the Raiders the next couple of weeks, but if we're giving grades I would give the opener a B+.
Could it be that Mount is running the ol' 5-2-5 defense (per Pammie Ward/'06)??

As a former middle school administrator, I'm having flashbacks on this banter.

Sorry gentlemen, but I have to ask this. A huge semifinal game for Mount and at their own stadium and you only had 1725 in attendance for the game. I realize we recently have talked about declining attendance everywhere, but...what's with that? Disappointing, IMO, and we didn't have any holidays in the mix at this particular date. Your thoughts?

Fulford injured or is Mount being cautious?

Adam Rittenberg (ESPN) also reporting that VK will be a "potential candidate" at BG......I guess if you throw enough darts, you eventually get a bullseye.
It's going to be Bo Pelini, his Nebraska contract stops paying out after this year and YSU will no longer be able to keep him. And since Carl Pelini is the current interim, it'll be a natural transition.
I would rather it be @FauxPelini. He is more interesting.

I'm guessing with a player on each side of him during the PC (and not looking very happy, by the way) Coach was pretty-much required to play the "if and but" game. You don't want to sit with your players and talk about how you were monkey-stomped for three quarters.

Anybody watch the post-game press conference following the game (link on same web page)?? Not sure I've ever seen "coachspeak" used more often......."if's and but's were candy and nuts, it would be Christmas every day."

A couple of notes from looking at Mount Union's roster:
Tyler Rentz is back with 2 years of eligibility. He was 2nd in depth chart 2 seasons ago. John Callahan is back as well land he is a player at LB if healthy. Kennedy Sanders is not listed on roster and he was on the depth chart last season and would've been a contributor for sure. In addition to freshman Caleb Homol, I think Kyle Moore could be good as well at QB. Where did the sophomore class go? There's 26 listed and 9 are transfers in, if I read that right.
I hope this Florida case gets cleared up either way for clarity sake for the direction of the offense. The only reason I'm not overly concerned is that I'm pretty confident that the Oline will be pretty darn good with two proven running backs and Hill, Ruth and Herrington at WR, as well as Moxie returning at TE. I think Micheli was quoted as saying the QB at Mount Union is put in a great place to succeed with weapons all around. Just know who to get it to in each situation... Something like that...
Micheli was being really humble......he was pretty good.
