I really wouldn't mind more IIAC teams getting the video feed thing going.  I could get used to this!!!  And you are right, the Luther announcers weren't bad.

today's de facto regular season title game will be video streamed

no promises on the quality of the announcing though

Three Conference wins in a row for the Spartans!  When was the last time that happened?

Dubuque last won four conference games in a row in February 2006.  incidentally, the fourth win in that streak was in overtime vs. Cornell

How about some top 25 love for Buena Vista? They are 6-1 and heavy laden with juniors and seniors.  They are off to a 2-0 start in the Iowa Conference.  They have scored an impressive road victory over Augustana (S.D.), a division 2 team sitting at 8-1.  But they aren't getting a single vote! I think that they are worth a look.

Great to see the Beavers start off the year with a win.  But that is a team they should beat.  Tonight will be A LOT TOUGHER. Playing at Augustana, a team that beat Minnesota Crookston by 46 last night will be a stiff challenge.

I heard that BV's scrimage with Iowa Central was cancelled due to all the heavy rains in that portion of the state.  I am also under the impression that the ICCC team helped sandbag some problem areas.  Did this ever get played and does anyone have any reports out of the Beaver camp?

I am fairly certain it was never played

Long time lurker, first time poster.  This will be my 10th year following Iowa Conference football.  Every season something surprises me, and I am sure that this season will be the same.  That's what makes the league fun.

Here is how I see it shaking out.  I am sure of only one thing.  I will be wrong about most of it.   :D

!. Central - The conference's best shot at having a representative in Salem in years

2. Wartburg - Will win the title if the Dutch slip at all

3.  Buena Vista - Return a ton on defense but needs to develop a rushing attack

4.  Coe  - Yes, they will really miss Suckow and Northern

5.  Loras - They find a way to win the battle for the city

6.  Dubuque - Not sneaking up on anyone and will have to deal with their home stadium being a mess this fall

7.  Luther - Lots of new faces and may take awhile to peak

8.  Simpson - I just can't see a reason to rank them any higher

9.  Cornell - Can beat anyone but Wartburg or Central, just not consistently

I see the top two teams as head and shoulders above the rest.  3-9 completely up for grabs.
