Hood beats Mary Washington. Things are starting to come in line. Still see St. Mary's as team to beat but York and Wesley are both tough.

Good rundown. York let the one against St. Mary's slip away. Re-match at York should be nice.

Does a true center lend itself to Yorks style of play? It seems to me that they want a solid 4/5 combo that can run the floor and rebound. When I look at York's end of year there is only one thing that I see. Note I did not see the games but looking at the stat sheets they were killed on the boards. Do not just mention Brady and scoring, he actually was the second leading rebounder on a team that appears not to do that well. I think they can fill the void on scoring as Whaley becomes the go to guy but they need to get some players in that attack the glass.

Good post, I heard the game between York and Marymount on the radio. That was a big win for York and a needed win. They need to hold serve on thier home court. I may get to see the York St Mary's game on the 20th.

I wish more people would discuss on this board. If you look at the ODAC board that board is always buzzing.

Nice Job. I think you have got a handle on things. It would be nice to see two CAC teams make it.

York is looking tough this year. I have not yet had a chance to see them play but hope to catch a game in Jan. I think the other post talking about Jeremy is spot on. I think he understands that. He had an awesome game against Wesley and if you watch the post game on the York web site he speaks well about his role as a leader on the team. There is a lot of good chemistry on the club.

57-48 with 7:35 left. Keep hiking 3's, boys. Ithaca just can't adjust. Mullins getting outcoached. The plan for IC's opponent is easy: frustrate them, work the shotclock and then take them off the dribble. It's now or never for the Bombers. Can this group win ONE postseason game of any importance in their careers? We'll see.
Ithaca, down 66-53, mounts a frantic rally over the last four minutes, but just dug themselves too deep a hole. Season comes to a disappointing end as DeSales tops the Bombers, 77-71
It's amazing to me that a team loaded with so many good free throw shooters wouldn't attempt to draw some fouls and get to the line where they would have a significant advantage over other teams and instead just guns threes. Ithaca takes a total of five free throws, and throws up a staggering 41 threes.
Also, what happened to this team's defense? Nazareth turns out a nice little 63.3% and then DeSales goes over 50%. Just can't let that happen.
It's a shame, because this group of kids really could have put together a special season with a nice run here in the NCAA's. It was a great regular season, but unfortunately, this team is going to be remembered more for what they didn't accomplish than what they did.
Maybe that's a cynical outlook, and somewhat unfair to the team, but once the conference slate started, it became pretty apparent that the Bombers were going to cruise through the regular season and their performance in the NCAA's would define their legacy.
41-9 in the regular season, 0-2 in the E8 Tourney, 0-1 in the NCAA's. I wouldn't go so far as to term the a "disgrace"...that's too harsh. However, they were a team unable to perform at their best when it mattered the most, and there's no debating that
So where does Ithaca go from here? Most of the key players graduate, with Cruz, Marcus and Brown being the notables returning. Is it a return to the mediocre seasons of 14-12, 16-13 and the like that plagued the program from 2003-2007 before this group came into their own?

I, also, question the sportsmanship of the Marlin players and fans. At the ODAC tournament, Marlin fans (mens basketball players included) sat on the opposing side, harrassing the other teams players and fans. The Marlin women were constantly yelling from the bench, and were not very gracious winners - from what I could see - very childish behavior. You would think the VWC coach would encourage better sportsmanship. The Marlins are a very talented group of players who have earned their place in the sun. However, Randolph Macon is a very classy act in comparison.

From that article:
"With the Marlins within striking distance, LaHaye said the Yellow Jackets only had to remember how they were laughed at after losing at Virginia Wesleyan on Dec. 6.
"We remember sitting in the Virginia Wesleyan locker room, and they were cheering and running up and down the hallways," LaHaye said. "I just looked at my very hurting team and said to them, 'they are cheering now, but let's see who's cheering at the end of the season.'"
Guess being happy to beat a team who they NEVER did in four+ years is not kosher with Lahaye. But hey, I guess she'll say whatever it takes for them to come out and win their third straight ODAC tournament. I really don't know who was "laughing" at her team for losing to the first/second place team all year (VWC). I might be a little oversensitive to it, but that comment really bothers me.
They were most definitly "laughed" at.... Even though VWC was ranked above them, because of the previous two years in which RMC had done so well it still was a little surprising for VWC to get the win even if it took 4 years. I think the win got to their heads too much which is maybe why they were running up and down the halls cheering... you would never see RMC doing that after a victory... even when they beat scranton two years ago to make it to the national championship, you save it for the locker room to celebrate. I think instead of criticsizing LaHaye's statement, we should celebrate RMC's victory and hope that they represent the ODAC well in the NCAA's.
I am happy for RMC and hope they represent the ODAC well. Perhaps the RMC coach did not mean anything but I thought her comments were childish. VWC was not making fun of RMC when they beat them. They were celebrating. These kids had been beaten by RMC badly for 4 straight years. Even last year they got pounded. LaHaye could have chosen some better words.

Thanks VWC for a great year. You all should be very proud of your season. To the four seniors, thanks for the 4 years. It has been a great ride. From 5-20 freshman year to 21-7 senior year. You all will be greatly missed.

My tournament picks... everyone else feel free to chime in with yours as well
#1 R-MC vs. #8 Lynchburg -- R-MC
#4 Bridgewater vs. #5 Roanoke -- Roanoke
#2 VWC vs. #7 Guilford -- VWC
#3 EMU vs. #6 W&L -- EMU
#1 R-MC vs. #5 Roanoke -- R-MC
#2 VWC vs. #3 EMU -- VWC
#1 R-MC vs. #2 VWC -- R-MC wins the Tourney
Roanoke rides their hot streak with an "upset" over Bridgewater... it will be a close game and BC will put up a good fight, but I think Roanoke will get the W in the end.
The rest of the 1st round... no surprises.
VWC will get the W over EMU... simply because EMU has beat them twice this year in close games, and that will give VWC enough fire to get the W once and for all.
R-MC over VWC in the finals
Looks about right except for the last game

BC had all thier players in the game. Katiie Herr played well. It was fun to see her and Chelsey Barret go at each other. Both are really fast. The Seniors from VWC just wanted it more. Their whole team knew what the game meant. It was a statement for them. 5-20 as Freshman to beating BC on thier last home game of they year. One game laft for the Marlins against EM. They will need to advenge thier loss from earlier this year. Great Job Marlins.
