Yeah I think we should have won - I didn't say anything degrading about B'water - I am just supporting my team. I am pretty sure you (as a fan) would say that B'water should have won in '98 (Emory blocks FG to preserve win) and in '00 (Emory throws TD pass to win with little time left) - I am probably wrong about the years, just remember the endings.......if you said that those were games B'water should have won, I would say nothing - that is you supporting your team.....

E & H Dad - you make some very good points; like the turnovers - they probably were mental mistakes, and Coach M not being able to throw the picks b/c he was a lineman - now that is funny!! Anyways, guess I am just more of a coach advocate - I really like Coach M and his staff - I feel like they have their heads and their hearts in this whole thing, which is why I am not worried at this point. So, lets hope everybody comes out ready on Saturday, and they play like they are capable.........EHC 52 - obviously you and I disagree on some things, but we do agree on one thing - Emory should not have lost the last 3 games......so lets move on, and pull for the Wasps to finish strong with 2 wins - I think we all know they can do it!!! GO WASPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

ehcwasp00,
I really don't know what you mean by the definition of intensity.
Intensity is mental alertness, focus, drive, maintaining self-control, and most of all, composure in critical situations.
That is my definition - and I wasn't aware that a coach had to instill this into football players - I don't remember playing with anyone that needed a coach for this. And as far as the coaches go, I just don't like the fact that as soon as we lose the fingers are pointed at them - maybe the players need to step up and make more plays. Also, not turning the ball over 8 times may help, so Coach Montgomery shouldn't throw 5 picks next week.......

I have to disagree with ya EHC 52 - INTENSITY comes from being a player - if a coach has to do something or say something to get you to be intense, then you don't need to be playing football. You need to meet another EHC 52 - Kevin Rogers, All-American OG at 5'11" 230 pounds - he was a football player who never needed a reason to be intense. This is football - if you aren't intense, you aren't a football player. And even though we beat BC last year and we beat HSC this year - we still aren't back to the teams of the 80s and 90s.....that is just pure fact. I do feel like we are getting there though....
E&H Dad - I have no doubt that you are a true supporter, and I know that EHC 52 is a supporter as well - I think that wasper68 and I just don't understand why all the criticism directed at the coaching staff.

Toughts about E&H Football,
The best the Wasps can do is to finish 6-4 and there is a good chance they may go 4-6. Monty recently made a statement to the Bristol,Va newspaper that Wasp football had made the turnaround. He made the same statement last year right after the Guilford win.Is going 6-4 or 4-6 this year making the turnaround? I think not. There was a great deal of pre-season hype by E&H that this could be the year.
Again I think not. Last season .Monty stated after going 1-9 the year before, "the
kids have to buy into my system".Looks like no one has bought into his system.
Don't dare blame the players.....they are not responding for a reason. The E&H coaches need to fix whats broke and take a good look in the mirror and ask WHY?
Looks like Mt. Union football ain't in SW Va. yet.I don't care how big and fast you have gotten in the pre-season if the coaches aint coaching the players up....YOUR
Not Going To WIN!
Looks like the Wasps are on the road to Neuterville.
E&H Dad
I am sorry, but as a longtime Wasp supporter, I have to say that I totally disagree with this post. It is obvious that they have made the "turnaround" under Monty - is it like it was in the prime of Coach Wacker's era - not yet, but the program is in better shape today than it was 3 years ago. The kids have bought into his system - they wouldn't have beat some of the teams they have in the last 2 years if they hadn't bought into it. Also, as a BC fan stated above, "players probably dictate success more than the plays do" - that is a great statement, and one that some fair weather wasp fans should take to heart. And finally, they have struggled at times due to their inexperience - that isn't an excuse - that is a fact; but that is also what will make them better in the future.
Come on EHC supporters - don't start pointing fingers because we have lost a few - things have gotten better, and they will continue to get better!!

I have attended every home game at Emory over the last 12 years, with the exception of 1 or 2 games.....with that said, I don't exactly know how they do attendance. I am thinking the count has something to do with ticket stubs that are given - I have never gotten one because I use a pass and there are probably 500 people that attend that use coaching passes who never get a ticket stub. Also, there are several hundred tailgaters that never even cross the road towards the stadium.
The biggest games I have seen there over the years were the '95 game against CVC (UVA@Wise now) and the '97 game against #4 ranked Washington & Jefferson - being there, I know that there were at least 10,000 in attendance at both of those games, regardless of what number was reported.
Overall, the numbers are closer to being correct than they are to being way off based on what I have seen over the last 12 years.

I do believe EHC is due to install the field turf surface in the next two years, along with a new field house, and visitor stands much like the home side - not sure when the other items are planned, but i think field turf is first.......
