I should've included Amherst on that list, though. They won't be in my personal deliberation but they will be in the mix.
Dear Dad,
I'm not sure this makes sense.
Love,

Formerbant10 and Walzy31 I am very familiar with Simon Behan, and the fervor he displayed on the court, we all should be familiar with him, after all he is one of the Greatest Players of Our Time

Simon's nickname was not the "Tornado" but was in fact the "Celtic Crusader"

Anyone heard anything on the recruiting front? I know schools and players are still in the process, but any word?

Baller10,
I see what you are saying. Amherst relies heavily on Olson to bring the ball up, and when someone is in his jock for 40 minutes the entire length of the court, they could use someone to relieve the pressure. I don't think they have the vocal leaders they've had in the past. They don't have a Russel Lee or a John Casnocha that will speak up when things go wrong. Those two seemed to be of a similar mold. I must say in the games I watched last year Baskauskas (sp?) had the best basketball skills on the court. If he became more aggressive, more confident he would probably be the best player in the league.

Impressive week from Wholey getting it going with all aspects of the game.
Bates offense for the past couple of years has relied heavily on 2-3 guys to get it done (ie gerrity/furbush, ray/stockwell) this team its seems like those guys are gonna be wilson and wholey, we'll see how they match up once NESCAC play starts up and some of the big boys start posting up

Sportscenter quoted Don Nelson as saying the win from the Warriors against the Spurs should be marked with an asterisk because it was played without Tim Duncan.
Baller10, how do you feel about Asterisks?

What don't you like about RIC, if I may ask?

I saw RIC play three times last year, and although I know this season is not last year, D3 NE clubs aren't getting Durants or Beasleys in as freshmen.

Walzy, I did see RIC play this year, and it was a one point win against now undefeated division 1 Holy Cross in an exhibition. Their team seems to be consisted of an almost completely new squad. It almost seems like addition by subtraction here, they don't have kinsey and the other guards all competing for the open look at the basket to fire up a trey ball. They play tough scrappy defense and play well as a team on the offensive side of the ball. They're big man this year is also better than both their big men last season. So I do not attempt to know where they should be ranked, however you can't base your claim off last year's squad nor can you ignore their success thus far this season.

but what do I know.....

Fletch played in 32 of 32 games last year, averaging 14.4 mins per game, 7 points per game (6th highest on the team) and scored 7 points in the national championship game in only 8 minutes.
? what was the reason for this?

Congratulations to all the players that made all-conference. I have to say though 9 players from a 4-4 Amherst team? Really? Same number as the 7-1 league champs. The past couple of years Amherst's teams have been stronger and got less representation. Maybe this can be attributed to a down year in the league as a whole? I don't know, maybe I didn't see enough games around the league....what do I know, I'm only an Alumn

Walzy31, I disagree with on Walters. I felt there were two reasons that kept him off the floor in the games I have seen him. One was his recklessness with the ball on the offensive end (left his feet a lot to pass and would throw up off balanced awkward shots) the other is his lack of defensive awareness (lost cutters while watching the ball and beat on the backdoor) I could be wrong, I've only seen him a couple of times.

Interesting on the Bates squad. A squad that typically founds itself upon its guard
play on the perimeter with shooters will have a lot more height.

Looking forward to seeing how the teams do in the opening weekend

Frank how do you get that many stars...

Any inside scoop on how the incoming Frosh (from schools except Amherst because we've heard it already) have been playing in the fall pick-up games? Any impact guys?

You should consider yourself lucky there haven't been further sanctions at this time.

Oo, this sounds serious...

what further sanctions could there be?
