Because I want my kid to grow up knowing that being a bully is wrong? Just because you are bigger and stronger doesn't mean you need to rub the other kids' nose in it. Not at any level. I've also found that the vast majority of people that grow up to be bullies whine the loudest when a bigger kid finally comes by and breaks their nose...

D3 is about sportsmanship. Don't believe it? Check out the banner at the bottom of this link that lists the 6 attributes of Division III:

There's nothing respectful about running up a score and encouraging bullying doesn't develop "responsible leaders and citizens". While I agree there is a difference between a game out of hand and running up the score (see my comments on the Centennial board regarding JHU's most recent win), running up the score should ALWAYS be considered wrong by those who believe in sportsmanship.

BTW60, keep your political views out of a football discussion. They're irrelevant to the topic.

You must be one too Warren.  One Question for you:  Have you seen my baseball?  On another note, lets go Cowboys. Keep up the tradition.  Your Cowboy brothers are watching.  Break Their Will!!!!DTL Offensive Line!!!

Why are people complaining about running the score up.  If certain teams don't like it, then don't sign up for football.  :'(  As a player I wanted to score as many points as possible.  As a coach, we keep our starters in until at least 1 drive in the 4th because we are preparing for the playoffs.  We learned our lesson last year when we would bench our starters at the end of the 3rd quarter.  We got into a battle and overtime in the playoffs and our starters were worn out.  This is football.  If you can't stop people from scoring then your coaches need to figure something out or do some better recruiting.  As far as the HSU Cowboys and the McMurry mens football team rivalry, you have to at least win 1 to make it a rivalry.  Should be interesting this year.  ;D

If Coach Keeling is out, is there a coach already at HSU that the Cowboy faithful would like to promote or do you go outside the program?

Ha ha. Baddog. I was just about to say that about the 2006 game. I was a senior on that team. They could not stop us and were about to score again. I remember watching the film the next day and the line were laughing at how terrible their defense was. Even looking at highlights now from that game we were having our way with their d line. Get your facts straight. As we loaded the bus that night we laughed as the lc fans drove off yelling that they would have won the game. Get your facts straight.  :-*

This is what I meant to put after the quote. Dang iPhone.

During the Dennis Dunn era the LC vs HSU game has been competitive:
2006 @ Pineville: I think the game was called due to lightening or weather. I
            can't remember which.
2007 @ Abilene: the Cowboys prevailed 41-34
2008 @ Pineville: HSU won 36-28
2009 @ Abilene: LC won for the first time in the series 28-7

If the Wildcats are in the game going into the 4th quarter, I give them a good shot at the upset.

HSU is a successful and classy program. The Cowboys have been in big games before and the Pokes kn the stakes. The playoffs have already begun for HSU and the Cowboys know it. I hope LC can match the intensity the Cowboys are going to bring to the field on Saturday. If the Cats do, we should have a dandy shoot-out in Pineville.

I coach as well. I coach offensive line. Which by the way is the most important position on the field (the real skill). We play very physical. Instead of punching back, we locate the biggest hot head on the defense and stay in their ear the whole game. When they punch, my linemen celebrate that they got a personal foul and get ready to go again. This has happened several times this year and we have never swung back. Besides, we run a fast pace offense so we don't have time. My linemen are to busy hurrying to the line to get set.  :)

This was my first McM/HSU game. I enjoyed it. I tought that HSU had a great crowd, a rowdy band. It was fun to watch. The tomahawk chop was a little classless and since your not playing the Indians, it was actually kind of stupid. Mumme cussing, not a big deal, never been around a coach at any level that did not in the heat of the momnet. The punching of Warren in the stomach did happen and there is no room in football for that as well as the eye gouging by HSU players, I am really surprised by the dirty play of what I thought was a class organization. HSU was the better team on the field, but left me wondering about the lack of class.

You obviously have never been in a pile during a football game.  A lot of action goes on in these piles.  If you dont like it, go watch chess. Things may get crazy in the heat of the "momnet" but I dont think there will be any eye gouging in chess.  Lets be honest, you are mad because you get beat by HSU every year.

Dont get your feelings hurt.  We won the game!  Go away pc police.  I have been beaten by Mary Baylor and have heard the chants overrated.  That is their right to say that.  It goes both ways.  What it comes down to is who won the game.  You got beat. Accept defeat and move on!

Whats up minni?  Do you know who this is?  What are you up to these days?  I see that your little one is getting big.  I have a 5 month old myself.

Keep giving me negative Karma, it doesnt change the fact that McMurry has not beaten HSU since 1990, and that the Hardin-Simmons Offensive Line Dominates.  Keep working Big Nasty's.  I will be listening to the game on Saturday.

Good Luck.  HSU's O Line will dominate as it always does.  Break Their Will!
