As much as it pains me to say, my sister has chosen to continue her basketball career at UW-La Crosse. Full disclosure: I pushed for UWRF as hard as I could, but its her decision. I doubt any of you have heard of her, but I thought I would mention it.

Gretchen Linzmeier, 5-9 PG Pine City (MN)

She got a couple all-state honorable mention honors and is Pine City's all-time leading scorer (boys & girls). 4-year starter, 4-time All-Conference (Never won Great River POTY thanks to this one girl from Braham lol)

They have a responsibility to UWRF's womens team as well.

I have a feeling (dont know for sure) that Channel 19 (justin.tv) will use the WRFW crew thats calling the Falcon mens game to provide pbp for the Wheaton/GAC game. My best guess is that it will be on the video link, but the womens game will be streamed on WRFW.

No definite details yet for the times in RF on Friday, but from what I've heard the games will be split session and the gym cleared in between.  Not sure how well Wheaton and Edgewood will travel, but I expect a large following from GAC.  One other factor for RF is the women made it in and play at St. Thomas on Friday, and boys HS regional play starts the same night with RF going to Menomonie.  Probably won't affect the crowd too much, but will thin out some from RF that would normally be there.

I'm a bit worried about Karges' ability to get people in and out with any efficiency, but I'm very excited to have the Falcons at home.

I've heard UWRF has no videocast? Can that possibly be for NCAA Tournament games in 2012? Also, the rumor is that they are only audio streaming their own games. If that's true, that's not exactly being a helpful host.

I can only speak for myself and no longer WRFW... but of course they are only doing their own games. The women's team plays at 5:30, I would imagine they'll do that one too. (Its what I would have done) And plus they can't really rely on the St. Thomas to cover the womens game. Ive called three games at UST and their webcast was down for a majority of two of the broadcasts.

Also, I know PointSpecial has said the link of the website doesn't work, but I haven't had any problems with it this year.

Great work SilverSports!

Everything looks good on first look... I'll look at it more closely later this afternoon.

I taught him everything he knows! lol  :D

I can't believe RF could be playing for the WIAC Title on Saturday and im in North Dakota... KILLING ME.

A team that has beaten the "#13 team" TWICE isn't even in the top-25...

Yeah this Super Bowl is about equal to a game played by Whitewater-Stevens Point in my opinion. Too bad WW-SP games don't have awesome commercials :)

Point takes one in WHITEWATER 71-60.

Too bad they both couldn't lose...  :D

Huge win for the Falcons at Quandt! That place is good for 10-15 points for UWSP on a nightly basis, visiting teams just don't win there.

Havent seen the Falcons play this year (and its killing me) but it seems that Manor has taken his play to another level. Just based on what i've seen of highlights and box scores.

Anyone have any comments on this?

Haha I guess. Except we actually have a mascot. Its a Knight. Im not sure if they have a mascot.

Falcons continue to struggle on the road. I dont know what it is. Frustrating.

Manor is having a great start to the year, but he was pretty inconsistent last year. Hopefully he can do it for the entire season.

RF can't get a goose-egg from Wade Guerin. If that keeps happening, its going to be a long season. Maybe it was an injury, Idk. Im obviously not as in the loop as I was last year.

Just back from Bethel after watching RF play.  Without seeing the box score, the first half was pretty sloppy both ways.  Lots of turnovers and missed shots.  RF played well over the first 15 minutes of the second half to take the lead to the 15 point range, only to let Loras back into it in the end.  I think it might take them some time to adjust to the new additions, along with the loss of Koonkaew and Voeltz.  Manor was much of the offense in the second half, and Chris Palmer played well.  Not sure he missed a shot all game and I think he had about 15 points.  Fred Falcon was there so I'm sure he'll have more to add.

Glad to see another Falcon poster will be picking up the slack for me this year!! Ill look forward to reading your post-game posts.

River Falls HANGS ON and navigates the "Storm" (Simpson College that is)

When I was reading the game story I thought I read the final score wrong. RF was up 22 late in the first half, but held onto win 79-73. Kinda scares me that this veteran squad couldn't put away Simpson until the very end.

It's amazing how stats improve over time. I went back and checked Colin Utke's game vs EC in 2008-09 season, the one in which I said he had 26. He actually had 18, including 4/7 on threes. And he averaged 6 ppg and 15 minutes per game.

It only seemed like more cause all 18 were in the second-half.

As someone who is fairly new to the WIAC and now leaving the WIAC

All because you're graduating (assumed), doesn't mean you have to leave us!  You have an obligation to stick around! LOL  ;D

Well ill be checking in quite often, but I wont be seeing many (if any) Falcon games. I accepted a job in Jamestown, ND doing radio for the Jimmies.
