There are alot of things that make up a great football player and speed is one of them. I rank things like this:
1) Athleticism
2) Speed
3) A Brain
4) Determination
World class sprinters don't play football except for a small few that felt like making a couple Million to do returns. Speed isn't everything but it's extremely important. I felt I was either 2 tenths of a second to slow or 3" to short to get my look and that is the difference from college to the pros plain and simple.

Bayernfan you are a waste of time. Keep living in your fantasy land and dreaming your dreams. Maybe if your team uses all that left over testosterone from being an all boys school you could keep it respectable but as for a win HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA is all I can say. You will see Saturday that Wabash is not in our league. Actually they would probably finish 3rd in the WIAC.
See you at the perk. LOVE YOU EUGENE
Is Goo representative of the class we should be prepared to experience on Saturday? There is a poster on the NCAC board named Scotty..I think you two would be best pals. Predictions are predictions and class is still class.
Bash,
[not trying to offend all former offensive linemen]I find it that some former offensive linemen, like Goo, still carry much of their fat angst around even when they are done playing. I don't blame Goo for having little outlets to unleash his pent-up anger....I blame the system. [/not trying to offend all former offensive linemen]
On another note: 'Hawks by 20
Phone It In
I'd have to disagree about the fat thing. I remember clear as day winning a basketball Intramural championship with big Goo. Not many oline are good enough to play O-line and average 15 as a 3 guard. Smell.
Plus living across the street from Rosa's for two years really makes the workout thing a drag.

When did the message board allow all these women to come on here and talk about class. Quit crying about someone making fun of your team, it's all for fun and it's something to get you going instead of the boring days of work.
WW-35 Little Giants-14. Darn now I'm classless, so I guess i'll go sit in the corner for a 20 minute timeout.

Going back to the talk of the best players in WIAC history....
I have watched WIAC football for over 15 years, and I these are the few players who I think could TOTALLY take over a game and are probably the best WIACers of the past 10-15 years if not the history of the league:
QB Krause
RB Beaver
WR Burnoski, Stanley
DT Kleppe--an absolute beast!! (should have won the Gagliardi last yr)
LB Raebel, Kriewaldt
DB Beckham, Teeples
There have been many other great players in this league, but these guys could flat out take over a game by themselves.
I think you gotta have Leszczynski in there at the wideouts.Looks good to me, but now you got me upset so i'll take the list that didn't make it, play a game and I bet you my team wins!
I hear that Square guy was a pretty good fullback

Jimmy, Goo you guys gonna be at the perk this weekend, Flash is the boy coming down
[/quote]
Possibly going to be there but not for sure.
Plus Trey is the best corner I have ever played against and I'm glad he was on my team.

You got me there on that one coach. I would like to think that I played the game with a lot of class but also played with a lot of emotions and didn't like the garbage so I took it to a guy every play and then let them know about every now and then.

From the stands, that action appeared pretty classless. That's my point.
Cardinaldad .....First like to say met a lot of nice people from North Central this weekend which was nice since we drive up from Chicago each week. As to our center pointing up at the screen, I was told by at least three or four of our players that your guys just love to trashtalk even when they are losing which I guess evokes that type of response. Don't know about late hitting....there were a few during the game but it's football and I believe both sides had their share of cheapshots.....Pound the Rock.....
It's all fun and games. Both teams were probably talking trash because that is what happens. I would of done the same thing actually I have done the same thing when someone who was losing decided be a smart a$$ and try to keep talking. I thought it was classier to point and let him know that your losing so please stop talking, instead of telling the guy to his face that your losing so please stop talking.
If football was meant to be classy then players would wear suits and ties but it isn't. As long as people aren't trying to hurt each purposly, the trash talking and pointing is funny and actually kind of motivating. It sure seemed that something got you guys going don't you??
Points taken. However, I disagree with your point about football not being meant to be classy. I coached the game for many years. We ALWAYS taught class and dignity. I don't find any of that crap amusing. Bart Starr, Walter Payton, Roger Staubach, Joe Montana, Joe Greene, Reggie White and players like them will be better remembered for their football than some of the idiots playing today. Players like these guys would just simply kick your butt. Again, I'm sure there was trash talk. We just didn't hear any of it. Their actions were displayed in the way they played. That's what we saw. IMO, class matters!

Congrats to the Warhawks on a solid victory. Your fans are very cordial. Your stadium is very impressive. I can see why some teams may possibly be intimidated stepping into a venue like that. NCC's is similar... on a smaller scale.
One thing though...... I noticed that when the Warhawks went up 21-0, SOME of the UWW players (partucularly your center #59) became cocky and began hitting a little late or when NCC made a decent play, pointed to the scorboard (to remind us that it was 21-0). Do SOME of your players do that regularly? That type of play took away alot of the good opinion I had of your team. It appears pretty ugly when you don't act with class with a big lead or a win!! I used to pull for you guys in the finals. Not anymore!
Come on now....I can understand you not liking the late hits, those could cause injury and I'm with you there. However the pointing at the scoreboard thing caused you to lose faith. Do you not think your team was causing that at all? Played with #59 and he's a great guy and great competitor. I bet he was just asked what the website was to vote for just Beaver and he pointed to the new jumbo screen or some guy made a great play and he pointed to the screen telling him to watch it again.

Who are the best players at each position in conference history?
QB--Jacobs, Krause, Kirk Baumgartner,
RB-Beaver, Bundgaard, Spencer Johnson, Moriarity
WR-Stanley, Lescynski, jeff gosa, burnoski, theo blanco
OL-Sakellaris, Mayberry,
TE-Schmitt, Whitaker, Adamcyk, Docherty
DL-Kleppe, Byrne, Hazuga,
LB-Kriewaldt, Spielman, Raebel, Widuch,
DB-Beckham, Teeples, Wolter
P-Turk, Croak, Gmack, Roszak
K-Schebler, Wurth, Raschke, Jensen, Mader
This would be way to hard to determine. For example, I was a possesion receiver and made big plays when we needed them or on 3rd down, where as Stanley was our guy that we went to for a huge 80 yard bomb or he'd go play D or return a kickoff. Everyone on the list that has been All-Conference or All-American are great players but to say who is the best per position would be like saying my dad can beat up your dad.
Since I'm from the waters though, I would pick any Whitewater guy because I got the purple gogs on. I can admit my problem.

Goo didn't say a yo momma joke, he just stated an opinion. If opinions bother you then go read a book, not a message board.
St. John's is a good college football team and has GREAT HISTORY, no doubt. However, they haven't been the same dominating team of the past. Two big losses in the last 3 years 34-7. They aren't a bad team, but now people aren't so nervous to play St. Johns like they used to be.
Ps. I was on a winning and losing side of a monkey stomp vs St. Johns

I wonder if they let guys go straight to the pro's from HS what this kid would do in the league.
Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding what your point is but are you suggesting that MZ is capable of playing in the NFL straight out of high school because he's put up such impressive numbers at RF? No offense intended but if you are that is simply absurd. At his size he would never get off the line of scrimmage and risk death or serious injury if he did manage to get downfield. I seriously doubt he has NFL speed either. Regardless of how impressive he has been at RF.
I thought that at first too, but then I decided he had to be talking about the D-I kid.
Was totally refering to the texas tech kid! No chance on MZ getting that chance, but after 4 years of some stats like that and another 25 pounds and a fast 40 time, who knows.
With Pete Schmidt and Stanley and the boys from stout getting looks to the NFL last year, I really think that helps AJ's chance. He's a stud and will put up some really good combine numbers so best of luck to him. I hope LL and the UWW staff are doing everything they can to get his name to these NFL teams.
My bad, Jimmy. I obviously misunderstood what you meant. MZ is a great kid and I wish nothing but the best of luck in his future and if that future happened to include professional football it would be way, way cool. 8) 8)
No problem, I probably should of expanded my thought but I'm polish so I get away with one or two dumb things.

Those are some freakin unreal stats for a freshman wideout in the WIAC. Not an easy league to do things like that..
When do those awards get voted on anyways?
Those are great stats but I dont think he will get all-american status. Heres some rediculous stats put up by a freshman this year: Michael Crabtree for Texas Tech
125 rec. 1861 yrds. 14.9 avg. 21 tds. The rec. yrds. and tds are all DI records for a freshman. old fresh records 98 rec. 1265 yrds. 14 tds. NOW THAT IS SHATTERING RECORDS. And he still has a bowl game left.
I wonder if they let guys go straight to the pro's from HS what this kid would do in the league. Wait 2 more years and we'll see. Unreal stats.
