The Senior's will be missed a lot. Next year will be not be easy.
D Smith....What can you say, A rare talent and a super young man.
Baumgartner....Mr. Clutch, so many crucial catches in" have too" situations and the way he blocked for Simpson. Simpson should take this kid out for lunch.
Mendal.....Oh yeah, played hard every single play and excelled in the trenches.
Booker and Henson = ALL HEART and Soul type players on the field.
And what most people do not realize is that Baumgartner and Henson played hurt all year with bad shoulders. Most players would have folded and packed it up early in the season....Yeah, ITS CALLED HEART !!!
ALL Tigers.........You played as a unit this year and it showed....Congrad's !

TO ALL THE HSC FOOTBALL TEAM.......
OK YOU HAVE HEARD ALL WEEK THAT YOU SHOULD NOT EVEN BOTHER TO SHOW UP AT WOLVERINE STADIUM IN DOVER, DELEWARE.
WELL, I HAVE BEEN AT EVERY GAME THIS YEAR AND WATCHED YOU YOUNG MEN PERFORM ON THE FIELD. SO I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF AND I HAVE WATCHED YOU PLAY WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND SOUL THIS SEASON.
LETS JUST CALL THIS THE....." DAVID VS GOLIATH " GAME !
MANY PEOPLE LAUGHED AT DAVID WHEN HE WAS STANDING BEFORE THE GIANT......BUT, LET ME TELL YOU, THAT LITTLE SLINGSHOT STRUCK A MIGHTY BLOW WHEN THAT ROCK STAMPED GOLIATH BETWEEN THE EYES !
ALWAYS REMEMBER ITS THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG THAT MATTERS.
SO LETS GO TO DOVER AND MADE SOME NOISE....LET THEM KNOW YOU CAME TO WIN AND NOT LAY DOWN !

First of all, I admit that I am a big Marty Fan. But in my heart I feel Coach Favret deserves COY. Why ?.......Remember Marty started the year fully intending for Warnement to be the starting QB. Warnement was taking the biggest majority of the snaps and he knew Marty's system.
So all at once Warmement and Simpson get suspended. And remember this is only days before the first game against Hopkin's.
Talking about having to regroup in a hurry.....Can you imagine ?
Everyone wrote us off.....We were picked, what, 5th in the ODAC ?...Yeah !
Cory Sedlar has done a great job. This kid is smart, calm, cool and collect.
But Marty showed the patients and molded this QB into one of the ODAC'S better QB'S.......And then Marty used several Backs which performed very well until Simpson returned.
Unless you are a Tiger Fan and been to all the games this year its easy to assume that it was the Drew Smith and Josh Simpson show only.
WRONG......Marty did one heck of a job spreading the ball all over.
He kept defenses pulling their hair. There was a stretch when teams were keying so much on Smith and Simpson that Marty started going to the TE Baumgartner 7-8 times a game or running reverses with Zack Miller and throwing to other recievers. And it always worked in a big way.
This is the most balanced HSC team that I have seen in years.
I think considering the card Marty was dealt at the first of the season, its amazing at the level he had this team playing.
We were only a missed extra point and a 7 turnover game away from being undefeated.
But I admit that I am partial when it comes to Marty. But he gets my vote

Drew Smith is my " POY ".....I know Drew personally.
Let me tell you guy's something about Drew.....
He is not only one heck of a football player and a great student...
This is one " Fine Young Man ".....One of the most humble and respectful young men that I have ever met !
And all this above can also apply to Josh Simpson as well.
But there is one player that lives in the shadow's of Josh Simpson that has got very little credit this year and that is TE Josh Baumgartner who has game in and game out paved the way for Simpson all year with great blocking and running the field ahead of him.
Pretty Impressive when a TE has the athletic ability to be a lead blocker and run ahead of a back like Simpson.
So lets never forget the Guy's who make it possible for the backs like Simpson who get all the glory !

Congratulation's to my beloved HSC Tiger's on winning the 2007 ODAC Championship !
We were hitting on all cylinder's and came out full throttle to open the game
Also Congrad's to RMC on a great year. You guys hold you're head's high because you have nothing to be ashamed of.
What a crowd in Ashland, Va today.....All the fan's brought a lot of energy.
And I must add that RMC was a class act today. All RMC people I ran across today were very friendly and more than willing to help me out on any questions that I had.
Let's go Tigers and keep it rolling....We have been underdogs all year and refused to listen to all the doubters.....Great Job Guy's !

HSC'S first game loss to Hopkin's was due to a couple factors.
First of all Josh Simpson being suspended and not playing hurt us...sure !
The reason is the O-line had a very bad game which is understandable because this years unit was very young and not much experiance.
Hopkin's stayed in the backfield the whole game disrupting everything.
Sedlar never had a chance to even sit his feet in that game.
There was just a lot of misasignments. But thats ok also because like I said, the O-line was young and confused. But, after a butt chewing and a long hard week of practice they have improved every game since.
As any football fan knows.....Games are won in the trenches by line play.
Yeah........THE MULES !! They get so very little credit, but that is where games are won and lost !

As I have stated in previous posts, I am not into making predictions, because when it comes to football......Who knows what can happen !
Just look at D-1 this year......Good Grief at the upsets.
All I know is that we have two fine teams playing for the ODAC championship this weekend and we are lucky as fans to be able to attend such a great matchup......Should be some heads knocking !!
RMC....What can you say " What a turnaround "
I asked one of HSC'S coaches last weekend...are those guys that good ?
He looked me straight in the eye and said... " They are the real deal "
Enough said....We are in for a battle !
I like HSC'S chances, but we must take care of the ball.
I think whoever takes care of the ball..........WINS !!!

Just back from Wilson Field in Lexington....W&L- 17  BC -14
Congratulations to W&L on a hard fought victory over the Eagles.
General's Defense looked very sharp and created headache's for BC.
QB for BC #13 took a beating. The General's sacked him several times and stayed in the BC Backfield all game creating havoc.
Hat's off to BC.... like always fought to the end !

We sit in the stands on Saturdays watching and rooting for our favorite ODAC teams, cheering, munching on Hotdogs, Pizza and chips.
Without many soilders like ARNBGR this would not be possible.
I for one am very grateful for these brave young men.

AllSky7....I agree with your opinion on this year's Tiger's Defense.
They play very good at times and seem to make plays when needed.
They have very good athletes on defense. Very fast for the most part.
A few games this year we were undersized on the line and got pushed off the ball which created some problems. And we get burned over the top at times. But, all in all we have a good unit playing D .
I really think overall the players have adjusted well to the new defense that was brought in by Coach Braithwaite ( spelling ? ) lol
But, Lets be honest its still all about Marty's great offensive mind that keeps us rolling. This guys play calling drives opposing coaches nuts !!!
Whatever.....All we know it that we simply need to win at RMC.
We just need to stay healthy next week. I have a strong feeling we will not see the starters playing very long.....Maybe a Half ?
