Having called the Wesley/NCC game in 2015, get there a day early, hope the Cubs have a day game, and enjoy that river walk area in Naperville. One of my favorite road trips from a grave perspective.

Played with the possible East Regional Ranking just for fun, and more importantly looked ahead to what's left. Not perfect since trying to break out Opponent's Opponents records is best left for Pat's SOS page when the results happen.
1) Union 8-0 (2-0) - .487 / Utica (4-6), RPI (5-3) -- Thinking is the second regional ranked win overcomes the .022 SOS difference. SOS may get them there, anyway.
2) Salisbury 7-0 (1-0) - .509 / TCNJ (2-6), W. Paterson (2-6) -- If 6-2 Oshkosh is ranked in the west, they're No. 1. May need UW-O to defeat UW-W to have it happen.
3) Wesley 6-1 (2-1) - .577 / Kean (3-5), C. Newport (2-6) - Putting SOS & RR win over WNE's record, but if Endicott isn't ranked, the argument gets much harder.
4) W. New England 7-0 (0-0) - .532 / Becker (2-6), Husson (3-5) - Where will the committee draw the line between undefeated and a loss to a RR opponent? SOS will stay on par with those above
5) Brockport 7-1 (1-1) - .539 / Alfred (5-3), Morrisville St. (4-4) - Better SOS (current and future) than WNE, if Framingham sneaks in, they could surge to 3rd.
6) Delaware Valley 8-1 (0-1) - .536 / Widener (4-4) - Can Stevenson/Wilkes get ranked and get them a RR win? Would likely stay behind Brockport if both win out.
7) Hobart 6-2 (1-2) - .623 / Buff State (1-7), Rochester (0-8) - That's an amazing SOS that's going to sink like a stone down the stretch. Union needs them to be/stay ranked.
8) Ithaca 7-1 (0-1) - .520 / RPI (5-3), Cortland (7-1) - Wild Card 1. Future SOS is 12-4 vs. Wesley's 5-11. Could make up gap and have RR win vs. Cortland. Could be 1st on table at end.
9) Cortland 7-1 (0-1) - .504 / Hartwick (1-7), Ithaca (7-1) - On the other hand, Cortland would have the harder road to jumping Wesley. .073 is a lot to overcome with just a 4 win difference.
10) Endicott 6-2 (0-2) - .523 / UNE (3-5), Nicols (5-3) - Wild Card 2. Lower SOS than Fram State, but if it comes down to the 2 for No. 10 - Endicott 55, Fram State 27.
UR1) Fram State 6-2 (0-2) - .586 / BWater St (5-3), WorcesterSt (0-8) - Probably won't make up the difference to Hobart, could easily be ahead of Endicott, even with the H2H result.
UR2) Stevenson 6-2 (0-1) - .511 / Wilkes (7-1), Lycoming (3-5) - SOS will likely stay over .500, and could get very close to Endicott's.
UR3) WPI 7-1 (0-0) - .457 / Coast Guard (5-3), Norwich (5-3) - Can't find them jumping the 1-loss teams above, if all stay with 1 loss.
UR4) Wilkes 7-1 (0-1) - .437 / Stevenson (6-2), King's (5-3) - Dreadful SOS should keep them behind the 2-loss teams, but they'll get a nice jolt down the stretch, but not to .500?
Simply put: What they do with No. 10 could be everything for determining who is on the board first, and who would have home game priority in potential east-based match-ups.
Endicott - Helps Wesley
Framingham State - Helps Brockport
Stevenson - Helps DelVal
Wilkes - Helps all teams not named Wesley/Brockport/DelVal
Future: Avoiding upsets, and having to pick Cortica...
Hobart will likely slide back behind Ithaca and Cortland as that SOS dips below .600 the next two weeks
Will the committee favor SOS over 2 vs. 1 regionally ranked wins? Union will close the gap with Salisbury, but will likely stay below their SOS.
How exactly will the committee handle a D3 undefeated Western New England?
Will Ithaca/Cortland winner get past Wesley's SOS? It seems like Ithaca has a real chance.
1) Union 8-0 (2-0) - .487 / Utica (4-6), RPI (5-3) -- Thinking is the second regional ranked win overcomes the .022 SOS difference. SOS may get them there, anyway.

Passing along a note for those in the Mount Union Community.
Woodbridge (DE) QB Troy Haynes, who had committed to UMU before beginning a battle with Kidney Cancer back in April, lost his fight over the weekend. My understanding is the Mount Union coaches were excited to see what he could bring to the program, which I can assure you would have been a ton off of the field. Easily one of the nicest kids I've ever had the privilege of covering at the Delaware High School level.

Thought those in the Mount Union community might be interested in this story.
A Delaware HS QB who announced on twitter his plans to go to Mount Union next fall has been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and will undergo surgery next month with plenty of community support.

Don't normally post on here, but my apologies for the WDEL webstreaming issues last night. We have a new system for the web version of our broadcast that puts it out of the control of both the talent calling the game (it's never been that way), and our board operator back in Wilmington.
We were able to finally get IT on the line to fix the problem, so I'm hoping that'll be the last time this happens during the season.
Listeners on 101.7FM/1150AM heard no problems, hence we didn't know right away until calls/tweets came into us.
Anyone who has ever called a game while dealing with a technical issue can realize the frustration level I had last evening.

SOS, Team, Full D3 Record, Wins, D3 Games remaining
1 Wesley 4-2 (Widener, Huntingdon, Birm-Southern, Salisbury) - NO FULL D3 GAMES LEFT
17 FraminghamSt 8-1 (Endicott, FitchSt, WCSU, Mass-Dart, WFieldSt, PlymSt, MassMar, BWaterSt) - No. 196 WorcState
36 WashU 7-2 (Rhodes, Centre, Berry, Hendrix, Macalester, CarnMellon, CWR) - No. 180 Chicago
109 Millsaps 8-0 (MissColl, LaGrange, Sewanee, Hentrix, Trinity, BirmSth, Berry, Centre) - No. 123 Rhodes
123 Rhodes 7-2 (Austin, Clar-Mudd, Berry, Chicago, Sewanee, Centre, Hendrix) - No. 109 Millsaps
215 Tex Lutheran 7-1 (SWestern, Trinity, ETBU, Austin, SulRoss, MissColl, LaColl) - No. 137 HPayne
Some Notes: Wesley's SOS is .069 higher than No. 2. To put that in perspective, 2 through 5 are seperated by just .007. Generally the byproduct of never having to face the worst team in their conference given the way they scheduled. Framingham's SOS jumped WashU's this week. Going from 32 to 17. Centre's skyrocketed from 70 to 37, but the loss to Millsaps knocked them to 3 losses. Rhodes' dropped over 15 down to 123. It was a double-negative for TLU. They lost, and their SOS dropped back into the 200s while they were doing it.
The big question still abounds: Will anyone have a regionally ranked win when this is said and done?

196 Tex Lutheran 7-0 (SWestern, Trinity, ETBU, Austin, SulRoss, MissColl, LaColl) - Hard-Simm, HPayne
Framingham's SOS is up 13. Millsaps' SOS plummeted the second they stepped on the field with Berry, but they just need two (one?) wins to lock up a bid anyway. Undoubtedly the biggest win was Texas Lutheran's, whose win over LaCollege barely snuck them into the 100's in SOS, making that win vital. Now we just await the regional rankings to see which victories get that added kick.

(Corrected thanks to ExTartan Player... Appreciate the help. I'm using this chart during our broadcasts so it might as well be right.)
(Corrected again since I somehow had both WashU and Centre winning their game against each other. Wins list should be correct now)

Pool B - After Week 6 (listed by D3football.com's Regional Rankings) - feel free to correct me
SOS, Team, Full D3 Record, Wins, D3 Games remaining
2 Wesley 4-2 (Widener, Huntingdon, Birm-Southern, Salisbury) - NO FULL D3 GAMES LEFT
10 WashU 4-2 (Rhodes, Centre, Berry, Hendrix) - Carn Mellon, CWR, Chicago
23 FraminghamSt 5-1 (Endicott, FitchSt, WCSU, Mass-Dart, WFieldSt) - MassMar, BWaterSt, WorcState, PlymState
43 Millsaps 6-0 (MissColl, LaGrange, Sewanee, Hentrix, Trinity, BirmSth) - Berry, Centre, Rhodes
56 Centre 5-1 (Bethany, Rose-Hulman, WashLee, WashU, Berry) - Rhodes, Hendrix, Millsaps, BirmSth
121 Rhodes 4-1 (Austin, Berry, Chicago, Sewanee) - Centre, BSC, Hendrix, Millsaps
181 Chicago 5-1 (Beloit, ConcChicago, Elmhurst, Kalamazoo, Maclester) - Pacific, CWE, CarnMell, WashU
223 Tex Lutheran 5-0 (SWestern, Trinity, ETBU, Austin, SulRoss) - MissColl, LaColl, Hard-Simm, HPayne
Games within teams in the group
Washington U vs. Chicago
Millsaps vs. Centre
Millsaps vs. Rhodes
Centre vs. Rhodes
Quick Analysis from this end: Texas Lutheran's SOS will go up significantly the next three weeks. If they lose one, they might like to see that ranking cut in half. Framingham State's SOS looks to go down, but probably not like a stone. The strength of victories (aka, how many of your wins are Regionally Ranked Opponents) could end up being the key variable.

jknezek, Alfred State is still provisional Division III, so Wesley's Primary Criteria is actually complete at 4-2. The good news for Wesley is their SOS won't take a hit with that Alfred State game. Hard to believe as conference members go towards the .500 mean that Wesley's SOS would drop out of the Top 3.
I'm pretty much with you on the breakdown on what's to come. I think Wesley vs. WashU could be an interesting comparison in the end. I'd pay more attention to the strength of wins than looking at the losses.
Assuming WashU wins out the wins would be...
Wesley: Widener, Huntingdon, Birmingham-Southern, Salisbury
WashU: Rhodes, Centre, Berry, Hendrix, Carnagie Mellon, Case Western Reserve, Chicago
How many of those 11 teams end up regionally ranked could be the difference between very similar SOS's (Wesley 2, WashU 10 as of this typing) and two losses each. We'll know a lot more after that Millsaps/Centre/Rhodes Round-Robin. Centre's win over WashU could also end up being extremely valuable by the end, too.
This much is for sure... Wesley has 4 weeks where they can do extremely little to help their own case (besides winning out and beating a I-AA team, which I still have a hard time didn't matter when putting them a seed ahead of Linfield when they beat Charleston Southern).

In my defense in regards to my reaction to the crickets............... Nope, I've got nothing. I was okayish until they started landing on my notes and shoulder.
"10 Questions: Sean's Phobia's Edition" might take a while.
I echo Jason's comments about the hospitality. From the applause for Wesley as they left the field to all the helpful staff and everyone just wanting to chat, it's as enjoyable an experience as one could ever hope for around a Saturday night away from Dover.
Enjoy your new digs, even going back to my old days covering Delaware in Division I-AA I can only think of a few places on that level that could match Crusader Stadium (but gotta keep time/score on the scoreboard!). And no BBQ place I've ever been to beats Schoepf's. And if some place does, I might actually suffer another Brisket Coma.

We only got a brief chance to talk to their announcers, they were setting up the video feed (which is 5-10x more complex than radio, especially with switchers and such) they came to us just as we were going on-air for the pre-game show. I don't want to speak for them, but I'm assuming the fact the game was close led to a crush of people logging onto the feed near the end. Internet video can be finicky when in high-traffic situations.
As for our recap... we've got this week's D3 Report, our radio version of the FG call, and my interview with Dan Tryon after the game.

And in a side note to anyone who travels: Don't do a double connector. It's just not healthy.
