Under a month away from the start of the season, and no chatter?
Isn't there usually a D1 player transferring into UST about this time of year? What about up in SJU, how many players will be grinding it out for a Varsity spot this year?
40....50? There are a lot of big holes on a lot of teams that need to be filled this year.

After staying two years at St. Olaf, Mac, Ham, and then 4 at Bethel, Dan Perrel resigned as Associate head Coach at Bethel. Anybody have any news on who is his replacement at Bethel this season? Is the search still on?

USA vs Spain was a great game with a great finish.I know that team USA is young and not an actual cohesive NBA team, but Rubio is playing extremely well against some of the top NBA players. He has great court vision. I'm excited about the future of the wolves, if he actually plays here.

No one heard yet? Larson decides to take a non-coaching job after his fourth year in the MIAC. Dos at Hamline, and dos with the Cobbers. Good luck to him in his new endeavor.

I would agree that I wouldn't be upset if no post was recognized, but Fraase raises an eyebrow.
Min/G FG% FT% R/G PTS/G
24.6 .606 .644 9.4 17.7 Hipp
28.7 .468 .761 7.3 17.2 Brown
29.7 .464 .694 10.4 12.9 Fraase
35.1 .635 .679 9.7 13.6 Burtzel
If its by stats its gotta be Burtzel. O well.
Lets go North Eastern!!

Props to the fan who printed out a large picture of Jonkey Kong in the stands of the video recap. I too was infromed of Browns knee injury earlier today. Maybe a Goose fell on him.....Yao, ask your old roomie about that one.
All in all a return to the playoffs is the most successful season in the past 4 or 5 years for the Pipes. It was a fun season. Now to find out if Ray will or will not get another season. Ray watch begins.....

wonka, you asked what has Brown done for Hamline this year that Burtzel has not? Win more games, give his team a shot at a first round bye and a really good chance to host a playoff game in..........um, yeah awhile. only 2 more wins to be exact, but HU could still steal the 2 seed. But i can't argue with Burtzels numbers, i would be fine if either one wins POY.
Now i know it might be beating a dead horse but i was at a wedding and wasn't able to comment on the transfer discussion.
Turnover happens all over the place, not just to Whitmore obviously. Lets look at Wohler in his years at Hamline.
Players that did not come back after his first season at HU (04-05) nc=non contributer
Nick Novak (nc)
Adam Hakanson
Ted Gehring (nc)
Andy Grosbach
Brian Dingels (nc)
Travis Jacobs
and 2 others who had to quit prior to the season due to financial reasons
Players who left after the (05-06) season
David Johnson (finished his career at D2 mayville state)
Joe Smock
Nate Heusner
Brandon Hayes (although he did come back and finish under whitmore after Wohler left)
And then Derock departed after the down 06-07 season.
Some of these guys transfered to other schools, some just realized they couldn't cut it. Others left due to "love", one left due to family issues. There is a lot that goes into why someone quits or transfers, not just the coach, although they can have a big impact.

I'm a little torn by the Ray Ray story. I mean...he got busted doing drugs, he's unmarried at 21ish with two kids, he dropped out of insurance classes and he's in his third basketball program. There's a definite pattern there, right? At some point he's got to become the problem rather than the victim of circumstance. As a buddy of mine said, it's a little difficult to view Ray Ray as the heroic figure Reusse seems to be trying to portray.
That said, I hope he gets another year at Hamline and ends up getting his degree out of this opportunity. He's a fun player to watch, but it'd be a shame that's all he ends up to be.
Wonka, Brown may not be a "hero" but he has helped Nelli and HU finally break through into a winning season. I thought it a little low what you posted about Ray. He smoked marijuana, got penalized, and did his time. He served his sentence and has moved on with a clear history since then, can't we forgive and move on?This is a basketball board, when does having kids outside of marriage matter? Being a father must be a big problem? Its not like he's going to school and planning on graduating with a degree. Let's keep this about basketball and less on what YOU believe is appropriate for a college student/athletes personal life. As far as insurance goes, i'm giving him props for dropping out. only about 2.5% of insurance students who pass their test work in insurance past 12 months. I was one of the 97.5% that dsidn't reach my 12 months before exiting the business. I would have been better off dropping out than spending more money geting my license than i made with it.
PI- why can't we win at SMU! it didn't help that Hipp was sick but that was a huge blow to any chance of us getting to the big dance without winning the tournament.
Wonka, you do make a valid point on the suspension and the 3 seasons he has played in. It will be interseting to see how it all plays out

PI- The only goose that ever got loose on snelling was ZJ.
Whitmore would be an idiot to not look into another year for Brown. I think Ray will be back, and another year of teaming with Hipp could lead to a great season. Hipp is still budding as a player, and another year of weights, footwork, and post moves never hurts. The GAC game on saturday is huge, and I'd expect a decent crowd. Hopefully i can get work off to attend. Gacman, you going to the game?
