Thoughts and prayers are with the entire Mount Union community. This is something that we all worry about when traveling. May you remember all of the good times with Mr. Gorman as you mourn him.

Saw this story and even though it involved the Mount Union Wrestling Team bus, I know that a lot of wrestlers are also football players. This is something that we don't want to think about when traveling...

Warhawk,
I believe the signs in the parking gararge say, PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK! THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS LEFT IN YOUR VEHICLE, NO UWW PARKING ALLOWED, YOU WILL LEAVE AS AN NCC FAN, AND YOU ARE NOW EXITING THE WONDERFUL TOWN OF NAPERVILLE, HOME OF THE NORTH CENTRAL CARDINALS WHO JUST BEAT UWW!
You asked for it!

UDubDub_Boiler,
No sarcasm at all. As I stated, I personally felt that we were treated really nice.

DBQ1965,
See above message. There are two sides. Cold bleachers on the visitors' side and really nice seats on the NC side. Parking stinks as stated above. It is basically a residential area around the school. Street parking is allowed. There is a parking garage operated by the city right near the school and a small 2 level parking area right off the stadium along with some parking sections around the dorms.
As far as eating places around the stadium, your choices are endless. Just a block away is downtown Naperville with all kinds of places to eat and shop.
Hope you make it the game.

Emma17,
The only way to get to the visitor's section at BW Stadium is through the NC stands. That's the only way you can go so run fast!! (only kidding). I do believe that we are all nice
Also, for your tailgaters, you can actually set up your tents, etc. right behind the visitor's bleachers. I think you can actually drive and park a few cars behind there too. Illinois Weselyan had their tailgaters set up there. I don't believe that there are any bathroom facilities or porta-pottys set up on that side but you can set up your tents, etc. there. If you need the indoor bathroom facilities and some warmth, you have to use the ones in the stadium, which are really nice and warm. There really isn't alot of room for tailgaiting as the school is basically right in downtown Naperville. The parking really stinks so if you can get there early, your chances are much better.
There is a small parking circle right off the stadium which is where all the NC die-hards set up. They get there early and actually save parking spots for their family and friends so your chances of parking there are really slim. Although the school is on break until January, it still gets crowded in the circle.
Maybe you should just stay home as it is a long ride home when you are not the winner of the game. NCC WILL PREVAIL AS THE WINNER OF THIS GAME! THIS TEAM IS WINNING FOR EVERY PAST NC PLAYER THAT HAS STEPED OUT ONTO THAT FIELD. I personally hope that we treat your fans as good as we were treated at your house.

Warhawk,
If both teams take care of their business in the next two weeks and Whitewater does come to Naperville, I am sure all of our North Central fans would be as gracious as Whitewater was to us! We did have a great time and were really treated well, although we found the cannon a little annoying, and of course the cold weather wasn't much fun either.
Hope to see you in December!

Interesting article from the last time North Central played Whitewater. . .
http://www.uwwsports.com/news/2007/11/24/fb11242007_NorthCentral.aspx?path=football
A few lines that I found quite interesting are as follows:
"Fans got three games for the price of one Saturday. Whitewater jumped out to a 21-0 lead in game one, North Central cut the margin to 24-21 in game two, and UW-W outscored NCC 35-7 in game three."
"I think it was a close game," UW-W Coach Lance Leipold said. " It was a lot tighter than the score indicates. Two things play a part in that. One was our ability to use big plays and short scoring drives versus their ability to move the ball on us."
"We really didn't have any scoring drives today," said Leipold. "That's got to be a little bit of a concern. You've got to be able to drive the football on some people. You like the big play, but I think tomorrow when we look at the film we've got to be able to drive the ball on some people by running, passing and mixing things, and we've shown that, but today we just didn't have that."
"Hlavac led the Cardinal offense with nine catches for 155 yards and two scores. Fanthorpe was 18-47 passing for 237 yards, and he also rushed for 62 yards. Linebacker Matt Wenger was in on eleven tackles, added a tackle for a loss, a forced fumble and a quarterback sack."
So makes me wonder if it will be bleeding purple or red if NCC makes it through to play Whitewater? We still have Hlavac and Matt Wenger. They do not have Justin Beaver who had 241 yards rushing that game. It's will be a whole new ball game.
LET'S GO CARDINALS!!

Jaybird,
Was surprised to see your pick ems for this week. Have you flown the coop? You didn't pick your team to win!

If anyone is interested, you can watch the Division III Mexico game on Saturday, the 19th at noon. Blaine Westermeyer, the Gagliardi Trophy winner, along with other CCIW players, are listed on the roster. Go to www.globalfootball.com and click on the "WATCH THE GAME" link. It will cost you $5.00 to watch.

I think IWU has the best defense in the conference but I don't think Wheatons and NCC's are too far behind. I've watched Fanthorpe dismantle every CCIW team over the last 2 yrs so you can think what you want but there is no way IWU wins with Fanthorpe playing 4 Quarters
My sentiments exactly!
