Any posters planning on taking in Macalester/SJU tomorrow night?

Rat, I think I'm going to stop over. Come and say "Hello",  Look for the old Gray haired hippie with the cameras.

I just got home from the game.  Didn't see this post until now.

I did see you though.  Even though you were in the middle of the thousands of fans at the game.   ;D

Do you publish your photos on line anywhere?

Hi Rat,

I'll use them in stories on www.minnesotapreps.com and post them on my commercial photo site at www.mnphotonet.net. I must note that I have my MIAC credential and follow all the NCAA guidelines for photo sales. LOL. I don't intend this as a plug, just an answer to your question. Thanks for stopping to visit.

It was nice to see that Peter Leslie and Anders Halvorsen brought a bunch of players to Henry Sibley last night to watch the Sibley vs. Osseo game.

Players that hang out together do great things on the court.

St. Mary's is working hard. Their new coach has real enthusiasm and it is communicated to the players. They had a nice game against Bethel today.

In the meantime, back here on planet MIAC, who you picking O - Northwestern or Hamline?

No Prediction, but I will go over and catch this one. Should be interesting.

Any guess on the order of the MIAC schools in terms of putting together the best financial aid packages for student athletes? Is the playing field even?

Bethel is underway with pretty balanced scoring and lots of players in the mix. Martin Luther was very aggressive in the first half and then seemed to slow a bit in the second. It's fun the see my first game of the season.

Martin Luther has to have the most crazy halftime show. Tonight's included a fake soccer game which was interupted by a streaker in a rubber suit with fake genitals. It was a scream. Later they had a guy playing  genie who could do the belly dance stomach to perfection.

Here is the New Ulm Journal's rendition:

Madson (14) and Laugen (10) led the Royals balanced attack.

I was looking at the Pipers website one more time...why are they playing North Dakota the second to last game of the season. Unless a playoff seed is locked up then, I'm not sure the timing of that game is good.

Vavra had 12, Much, Moberg and Robertson had 8, Lang had 6. That's what I meant by a balanced scoring effort. 35 in the first and 35 in the second. Different scorers but the same production. Robertson is listed as Center and Moberg as a forward. This is a nice combination and the two big guys work well together.

Martin Luther just ran out of gas in the second half. They played nice defence in the first. I think they could have a nice season when they make the transition from football shape to basketball shape.

Piper - Thanks for the story links! I'm looking forward to seeing your guys play.

Bethel also has their full roster and season preview posted. Let's get the season started!

I see that some rosters are starting to go up.  Carleton sure has a bunch of freshmen. Are they starting a JV. I thought I saw something about that here.

It will be fun to see the season previews too!

I agree completely. The MIAC needs more credit. Thanks to all for the comments.

AO,

Thanks for the quick response. I appreciate it.

AO,

Which league did the Pulley kids participate in? Were there MIAC teams involved. I know about the league at Kennedy and I thought there was one at 43Hoops too. Did they play against MIAC teams? This puts a very interesting spin on this topic. Thanks for the information.

There is an interesting thread over on www.minnesotapreps.com and I thought it would be fun to talk about here. The basic tenet from the primary poster is that the current Hopkins team which is loaded with D1 prospects would wipe up the floor of any MIAC teams.

Is this the case?

I understand that SB is very close to his signifigant other. They spend all their time together. She is transferring and so is he. He also realized that he might not be getting lots of playing time early on. I learned this today from someone inside the program. Sometimes love rules!

this is second hand info so take it at that.

I can confirm that Mr. Hugoson is finished. What a shame. He played in pain last year and to continue could lead to a lifetime of back problems. The kid has great heart and was a wonderful high school player.

Eric's Dad,  Kevin is still in the Bethel record book for assists from 1984. His sister Angie played basketball for South Dakota. This is a heartbreaker for a basketball family.
