Veldhouse will not be the leading scorer in Calvin history, but will definitely be the most clutch. He has hit some big shots.

The knights have some time off and i suggest that they discover a low post game. Griffin and Veldhouse can only do so much. The intensity is there and I predict that the players will play with more pride as the conference season approaches. I would look out for Todd Koitsier coming off the bench to light a fire under his teammates. KVS has won national titles with his defense, but it may time to let his players use their pure physical skills and match up full court and have a transition shoot out. The knights have Griffin, Veldhouse, Veltema, and Smith they can do some damage. As the only senior Griffin will take over and play with the same kind of heart he did vs Aquinas. I hope ALL of his teammates will follow his lead.

todays victory for the knights was a great sign of things to come. once kvs gets the team to stop penetration and then maybe we can extend leads instead of waiting nervously as our defense rotates slow and KVS should look for other options. it was surprising the amount of trouble the knights had with Wash U's press. Veldhouse should have just gotten the ball and cleared everyone out.
Griffin was excellent, and the combination of shooting and pure athleticism in the back court has me excited for an excellent year. Any rotation that has Dustin Smith coming off the bench is very solid, who was tremendous today.
I hope the knights have a great night of celebration and then come back with this same intensity next week.

I feel that secretweapon tk is in the right path. Calvin has tremendous talent on the wings and I am looking for someone to step up next to Mantel. As for chemistry Micah was a great motivator, but Griffin will take the lead next to Veldhouse. Hope will certainly miss Cramer's defense. This is going to be a great season.
